She'd taken to wandering again. So what was new?

Noomi tumbled through the forest of what she now considered her home. Since getting there she'd gotten a bit more familiar with what the residents called the muses, and she was currently off playing with one. Or at least she considered it playing. The lizard she was currently stalking probably didn't see it that way as it continued to scamper away from her. It barely had a lead and the little cub was always completely caught up before she was distracted and the reptile got away. Omi wasn't paying attention to it anymore though, as she'd skidded to a stop and was now staring toward her left, eyes narrowed and very, very curious.

The tan cub quietly made her way toward what she thought she saw.. something. Most probably wouldn't even consider that a description, but it was enough to catch her attention. Admittedly that wasn't exactly hard to do, but still. As she came upon the trunk of a rather large tree she realized that she was close to see that it was a lioness. Omi's eyes widened at the thought of someone new joining the pride again, as she was once a newcomer as well, and without really thinking jumped out of her hiding spot, eager to greet whoever this was.

"HI!!" she hollered energetically. Omi was still a good distance away when she called, as her dad's warning about strangers was always present at the back of her mind. In case this lioness was too she'd at least have a chance at escaping. Maybe it was just her cub-like optimism, but the older lioness didn't look all that dangerous to begin with anyway, so while she took precaution Omi wasn't all that worried.

User ImageSifa hadn’t expected to come upon anyone really. She’d been wandering for some time now, and she had gotten quite used to being alone. This was unfortunate, for she was a social creature by nature, but perhaps it was for the better that she had grown in such a way. It made her a better lioness, surely! And she had grown older, of course, but she typically chose not to dwell on that idea. Older wasn’t better, older was just older. She supposed “more wiser”, but it was still older. Ew.

Her violet eyes widened when suddenly there was a cub in her path. She was intrigued! Though it took a strange moment or two to tear her eyes off a line of ants in the dirt. They’re path wasn’t straight. It was crooked and one of them kept veering off to one side or the other beneath the weight of a leaf cut. Why did she care? It made her skin crawl that it wasn’t straight, and that stupid ant... she raised her gaze again sharply to look at the cub. Why was the little one alone? She didn’t budge from where she had stopped on the path, not wanting to scare the little lioness off.

Hi!” She returned brightly, inclining her head to one side and taking a tentative step forward, “I’m Sifa. What are you doing out here in the roguelands?” If she’d passed into pride territory, she’d missed it, though she supposed that could have happened. Probably happened. She looked around at the sky and surrounding foliage, feeling as if she had lost her bearings suddenly. Yes, she very well might have wandered right into the midst of a pride and not noticed.

See? She didn't seem so bad. She was friendly even, this Sifa was, so Omi ventured further toward the bigger lioness and took a seat just in front of her. "I'm Omi! Noomi, actually, but everyone just calls me Omi anyway." That was probably because she always introduced herself as Omi first, but she didn't really mind either way. "Only my dad calls me by my full name," she added, smiling brightly up at her.

What's this? She said something about the roguelands? Omi sat there puzzled for a second as she looked around. The forest certainly seemed like it was a part of her home. She'd never venture out of her home's territory, so if she had gone out without knowing it she'd be in some real trouble. He didn't like it when she wandered too far, after all. He was still a parent, and a slightly overprotective one at that. "Um.. I don't think we're in the roguelands anymore though," she answered, rather unsure, while still looking around. Trees, trees, and more trees. Yep. It was probably still home. Probably. Hopefully.

Omi turned her attention back to the lioness and nodded. "Yeah, I think I'm still safe. Ah.. I mean we're safe. Yeah!" she said as she stood up. "C'mon, c'mon! I'll show you. This forest is our home, so I think it's border is where the forest ends, y'know? My dad would probably get even redder than he already is if I leave without his permission, and he's red all over so I don't like making him mad. I'm sure we're still in the pride lands anyway..." She paused at that, since she really wasn't all that sure, so just in case she added, "Uh...but if we are.. if we are, could you please not tell him? Ple~ase?" You know. Just in case.
