There were things on Nyx's mind; Had been for a while, but the life of a scientist, especially one in Team Rocket, is a busy one. Scheduling conflicts, missions, and forgetfulness had pushed the original thought to the back of her mind. Pain medication for her newly broken leg had made her temporarily forget the other. But now that her dosage had been lowered enough to allow her to function somewhat, issues had surfaced again.

Nyx had made an appointment with Miss Nadja, to bring some things to her attention, and the day had finally arrived. She wheeled herself into the elevator and to the Elite's office door. Mau had been right, it was best to tell her. As painful and terrible as the consequences of her curiosity may be. She leaned forward and knocked on the door.

Nadja's upstairs office was a polished, private place, in a way a little world unto its own. The high windows, tall bookshelves and upper floors' removed atmosphere were all well and good if you wanted to make a lower-ranked agent feel out of place, but on a busy day like this the elite preferred her small work office in the labs, where she could intimidate people all on her own and keep a finger on the pulse of the department. If you relied on props to be imposing you weren't much good at it in the first place.

Under normal circumstances Nyx's knock would have received a "Yes?" with the unspoken prompt to come in, but normal circumstances assumed callers able to walk. Instead there was an "Ah" and a brief pause before the door swung open to allow the wheelchair passage into the small office, which boasted filing cabinets, a carved wooden bird over the L-shaped desk and a notable lack of Arcanine.

"All right," the elite said once the door was half-shut and she'd seated herself again, legs crossed at the ankles and an elbow resting loosely on the edge of her desk. "What's this about?"

Nyx wheeled herself clumsily into the office, accidentally closing the door the rest of the way shut as she maneuvered over to Nadja's desk. Doorways still posed a problem for the formerly wheel-less Rocket. There were a few moments of awkward rolling forwards and backwards and grumbling trying to position herself to be looking straight at Nadja.

Once she was parked, she noticed the lack of Arcanine. Nyx wasn't sure if she was relieved or not; Moloch couldn't eat her now, but the canine pokemon was fluffy and a nice distraction. "Ah, yes... Well. I met one of the new Grunts, Lennynka." Nyx paused and grabbed a pencil from a pouch on the side of her chair and shoved it down the cast on her leg. She sighed and continued. "I felt it necessary to inform an Elite that she expressed that her only reason for joining Team Rocket was the desire to take her sibling, Grunt Sorano, and go home."

Nyx was being much more formal than usual, leg scratching aside.

Nadja's office in the labs was considerably smaller than the one upstairs and while not cluttered, had a heavier scattering of pertinent paperwork waiting to be processed. Moloch would have sprawled halfway into the hall and knocked over a stack of folders with the first wave of his tail. As it was, Nyx's wheelchair made things a little cramped, and when it thumped the door shut the little wooden bird went swaying.

The redhead leaned back in her chair as she regarded Nyx with a mildly expectant look. Go on, it said, I'm listening, so don't waste my time. And Nyx didn't.

It was probably a good thing the door was closed.

The elite's mouth thinned at the news. "Really," she replied, the word dropping flatly along with her opinion of Recruitment. "That was a good feeling. How did she express it?"

Nyx would have felt pleased with the small praise, but this wasn't the only thing she had to discuss with her superior. She nodded and continued to answer. "Well, she didn't seem to be aware of our policies on the matter. We were chatting and the topic of our reasons for joining came up and she mentioned it casually."

The girl had seemed fairly upset when Nyx had hinted to her that leaving Team Rocket was much simpler than joining, but in a bad way.

"Really." Nadja didn't sound incredulous, but the brief arch of her brows suggested such an innocent confession in a place like Team Rocket was about as likely as finding someone over the age of twenty who believed in the tooth fairy. It could happen, but it left you wondering how it happened.

"And did you correct her on this matter?"

"Yes, Ma'am. She seemed shaken." Nyx scratched her head where her goggles would normally be sitting, but were absent. They had been cracked in the same accident that the scientist's leg had been broken in, and were not yet repaired or replaced. "It seems Grunt Sorano has a friend in another branch who 'pulled some strings' to get Grunt Lennyka recruited. Or at least ease the process."

Lennyka may not have been a spy or any sort of threat to Team Rocket, but her brother's little friend or someone in the other branch may have been. Whoever they were, they mattered less to Nyx than someone she had actually met.

Nadja's image of Lennyka was a pair of teal braidtails flopping as their owner ran screaming from their own Charizard, or a small mousy figure in filing scuttling between the stacks. If she was a diabolical mastermind, she was a very good actor.

The elite shifted position, sitting up straighter, expression intent. "Did you get the name of this friend?" Her tone was crisp and businesslike.

"I believe it was Vamoose. At least, that was the only name that was shared with me." Nyx shifted around in her bulky wheelchair. Something was uncomfortable; Her bum was falling asleep, as well as her non-broken leg starting to get antsy. Why did she have to get injured before having this meeting with Miss Nadja?

Nadja would have looked more surprised had the database not also contained people named Reckless and Fury. "M'm," she acknowledged, and filed the name was filed away behind her sharp gray graze. "Well. I'll see that proper measures are taken. Thank you, Nicole."

She canted her head to the side slightly, studying the antsy agent. That was a lot of fidgeting. "Anything else?"

Indeed, it was a lot of fidgeting, which seemed to increase as Nadja asked Nyx the fateful question; 'Anything else?' She hummed in that way people do when they are thinking about how to say something they really don't want to.

"Yes ma'am..." Nyx's eyes darted around the room, not seeming to want to stop on Nadja. "I wanted to... well." She sighed; Out with it, the longer she took to tell Nadja, the more of her time Nyx wasted and the angrier the Elite would be. "Yes. I may have caught the tail end of a battle... Between you and Elite Seth. Ma'am." She shrank into her chair a little. Where was her pain medication when she needed it?

The fiery-haired elite rested her chin on the back of her hand and watched calmly while Nyx squirmed. It was the guilty shuffle of someone sitting on sensitive information, and in these circumstances there is nothing worse than someone calmly waiting for the inevitable moment you betray yourself.

A slim brow arched when the admission came, and Nadja's tone turned.. cool.

"Did you," she murmured, smiling sanguinely below half-lidded eyes. "And what did you think?"

She waited for the rest of it.

Why couldn't Miss Nadja have gotten angry or done who what now?! Nyx looked puzzled for a moment. What was Nadja- She had to know what Nyx was getting at. She was just torturing the scientist. There was another humming whine.

"I didn't see the... battle..." Why couldn't Moloch be there and just gobble her up right there? "I am not sure I'm supposed to have any thoughts about... after the battle..." Nyx kept scratching her head, putting her hand down, scratching the other side, putting her hand down. Waiting a moment, and starting the cycle all over again.

Ah. The elite's eyes narrowed, and the corner of her mouth quirked back.

"Obviously you do." Nadja shot a pointed look at Nyx's nervous, almost frantic grooming, and linked her hands just by the fingertips. "And if they will affect the way you work with me, we should resolve this issue now."

Nyx gulped. Why did she have to have eyeballs? Or an overwhelming curiosity, for that matter. Miss Nadja was encouraging Nyx to get herself in trouble. But she couldn't exactly lie to her superior. Miss Nadja was something of an idol to her loyal minion.

"Well, Ma'am... I just... was uncomfortable knowing without you knowing." It took every ounce of will for Nyx not to ask why Seth. Or how, for that matter.
