Liara was home again. She hated being away. She hated being alone. She technically didn't spend much time not alone, when she was in the pride-but... for some reason when she was home-she felt like she was surrounded by others. Perhaps it was the frogs or the low lying marsh trees. All she knew was that her time outside the pride was horrible.

She was taking a nice stroll through the muddy waters of her pride, a smile across her face and a song in her heart. She loved it here. Perhaps it was her genetics. Her grand parents were members here-banished for her grandfather's viewing of their litter after her mother. So her other family members were banished, she felt they were there with her. Little did she know, her grandparents souls were among them now.

Kato had no family history here, in fact he didn't know if he was related to anyone here. His twin was suppose to be here but he hadn't seen her, not since he had joined. It worried him but he knew his sister, she was probably off having some cool adventure somewhere.

He was laying on a fallen tree not far from the borders. He should have been patrolling really but there was a break in the trees and the sun was pouring in and warming him up. Who wouldn't stop to enjoy the sun on a day like today?

His ears pricked up as he heard someone coming though. He didn't move, not wanting to leave the sun unless he really really had to.

LIara giggled as she splashed through a rather deep part of the waters, sending murky liquid up over her shoulders and sending frogs scurrying away. She laughed again, standing and looking down into the water. She loved it here. This was her home. Her calling. The sound of the birds. The dampness of her toes. She lifted her head and looked up at the bit of sun beaming through-and she laughed again.

She sat down, her tail curling around her paws-as she sighed. She would never leave again. Not ever. She didn't know why others left willingly. She only left because she had too. Some liked the adventure. Some never returned. She didn't understand them.

Kato saw the female through the tree's and was then torn by the fact that he had a job to do and the fact that he was just so comfortable right now!

"Heya!" There he would call out, if they didn't respond then he would chase them down and get them to confess why they were here! As long as no one found out he was being lazy all would be fine. Of course he would be in stupid amounts of trouble otherwise....

Liara heard someone call out to her, and she lifted her head quickly, looking a bit startled. She spotted the pale lion quickly-and he looked rather comfortable. She looked confused now. Why would a comfortable lion call out to her-while she was having fun? She sniffed. "Uh... Hello." She said softly, stepping up out of the water and shaking the murk from her dark fur.

"Can I help you?" She asked, looking confused still. She sort of suspected he was not from here-being that he had that creme color to him. She herself-was dark and dreary as the hanging moss and the dirty water ponds that made their home here.

Kato was surprised when she seemed to come to him easy enough. Well that saved him getting up for now anyway. Can't go missing good sunning time!

"Need to ask where you are going miss and what your business here is?" She looked like she belonged here but she had just come from the borders and so he had to check. With so many of them returning from their naming quests, it got slightly annoying. So many youngsters like she returning and only the odd rogue to chase off. He did enjoy chasing the rogues off when need be.

She smiled, knowing that it was only normal for someone in the pride to be curious of her intentions. "I am a member here... born and bred here... My name is Liara. My mother is a member here! So no worries should be shed in my honor!" She said softly, looking rather tikled at his question.

She bobbed her head up and down as she neared him. "Whats your name?"

Kato listened and nodded. "I should ask who your mother is and everything but you look like you belong here... hmmm... one question. Who is the ruler at the moment?" He had to check these things after all!

"I am Kato, and am presently making sure you are who you say you are... and I think you are but with what happened and everything." He had to check at least then he wouldn't get his ear chewed off if he was letting a spy in!

She chuckled, sort of feeling this was a game of sorts. "The king right now is Jhonki-sahna. My mothers old name was Kinamasi and her new name is Lawanda. My father was Mito. He is not among us." She said simply, not afraid to tell him all he questioned ,it was for the good of the pride. She stepped up closer to where he was, noting that he was older than she was. "Shouldn't I question you the same things?" She asked with a bit of humor in her voice.

She sat down and began to groom her forepaw.

"Would there be any point in questioning when you gave me the answers?" He smirked a little, she seemed like an alright kind of girl. She had spirit which was more then some of the females in this pride.

"Returning from a naming quest then I gather? So is Liara your new or old name?" Kato hated having to remember so many names, it was really one of the things he found annoying about this pride. His memory wasn't the greatest at the best of times!

She looked proud and lifted her head high. "It is my new name!" She said sweetly, her voice full of her pride. She flicked her tail back and forth. "I am making my way back to find my mother and tell her. " She said with a laugh. "She is probably so worried... since we all left at once!"

She smiled. "I just came back... i hated it out there!"

Kato nodded. She seemed very proud of herself and in a way he could understand why. Of course he never had the same ritual as she did and so he would never really understand it.

"Maybe you should head home then? I would come with but I really should be watching the borders." He stood up and stretched a little before shaking his rather large body. He missed the sun spot already.

"By all means come back and tell me all about it but I know what a mother can get like about her children." Kato had witnessed that enough times. Maybe one day he would know what it was like to see his children leave and not know if they would return. He wasn't sure he would but then you never know what might happen.

Liara was surprised at his words. Come back to visit him is what she interpreted it as. She found it a bit appealing actually, this pale creature that was hiding under a tree. She chuckled, looking over her shoulder. "I suppose you are right... " She said simply. "i will return maybe.. see how you are doing as you sit under your tree." She added with a giggle before turning away.

Kato couldn't help but smile, that female had spirit, she really did. He didn't stay put though, he did have a job to do and now he had moved he might as well check the borders though he made sure to leave a clear trail of where he went so she could find him if she did decide to come back.
