This RP is open to siblings and family if they feel like it. It was a really good day if you asked Msrah, but then he usually thought it was. He was still young and the worst things that had happened to him so far was probably getting last in line for bath time or mealtime. But having many siblings was nice most of the time. There were always someone to play with or cuddle up next to, and he never really had to be alone. Just the way he liked it.
Today the temperature was just right, even if a lion unaccustomed to the desert might find it rather hot, and if it started to feel too hot he knew just what to do. There were places near the dens where the shadowed stone floor always seemed to be nice and cool to lay down on. but for now Msrah was content to be sprawled out on his back in a sunny spot on the courtyard, taking a nap. With belly exposed, legs sticking out every which way and his eyes closed he was a prime target for his siblings or any other playful cub, but that thought didn't even cross his mind.

She knew exactly where one of her tan brothers were. The tan ones seemed to flock to the stone when the rest of her siblings all played in the sand and wandered to visit other cubs in the pride. She didn't mind it, though. She liked the predictable. Not like the time she was 'cubnapped' by another cub to do some trouble making. It was a good thing the two had never gotten caught; they would have been in a world of trouble.
Having spotted Mshra on his back, her rump went into the air as she crawled toward the tan one. Jamila's red eyes narrowed in playfulness as she stalked her 'prey' for the day. Oh, she would bug the hell out of her brother until he told on her and mother and father made her stay with them. With a squeaky growl, Jamila pounced, hoping to land on Mshra's belly and scare the tar out of him. She would get such a good laugh out of it.

A split second of shadow was the only warning Msrah got before his sister pounced, but he didn't take the hint until Jamila growled. By then it was too late... He opened one eye but didn't have the time to process what was about to happen before she hit him.
"Oof!" he exclaimed, both startled and squished, "Heey! What?"
But as he saw that it was Jamila that had assaulted him he started to giggle. He made a half hearted effort to push her away with his hind legs and tried to bat at her face. From nap time to play time in just a few moments, but he was okay with that. Cuddles were better than play fight, but Msrah was prepared to settle with whatever he got.
"You got me," he giggled, "Geroff!"

Ah-ha! She had her brother right where she wanted him.
Instead of getting off like he'd asked, Jamila took it upon herself to scootch down to tickle his tummy. She hoped she remembered right and he was the ticklish one. "Nooooooo. I want to play with you more!" She squeaked happily.
After a few more moments, Jamila got off of him and shook the dust out of her fur before grinning. "What are we gunna do today, Msh?"

Jamila did indeed remember his ticklish spots and all he could do was squirm and giggle at his sister's mercy. He couldn't even beg her to stop, but luckily she did so on her own before he exploded or something. At the time it felt very likely. He almost asked her if she thought it was possible to explode from too much tickling, but he was a little bit afraid she would take it as a personal challenge. Knowing Jamila it might actually happen...
"Ah," he panted, still out of breath from being tickled, "Dunno? Maybe listen when they sing the prayers later. And sing along if I'm allowed. Are we doing anything today?"
Msrah tended to refer to the entire group of siblings as "we" since he usually tagged along if any of them decided to do something fun. Everything was better if a lot of them were doing it. Well... Perhaps not eating something yummy since the competition could get bad if there weren't enough treats to go around.

She thought for a moment and shrugged. They didn't have any plans today. Not that she was aware of, anyway. "I think daddy was going to teach us the prayers. But I don't know when. Maybe after he hunts us food. ...I mean, us as in the pride. 'cause... that's what he does." She blinked at that and thought for a minute before shaking her head.
The pink lioness cub was always eager to learn. It was just who she was. "But yeah! We could definitely go listen to the prayers. Others will be so shocked when we learn them at a young age!"
"...We need our other siblings, though," she said after a minute's pause. "Or daddy. Daddy would be fun to go listen to the prayers! He would sing next to us and we could learn that way!"

Msrah was feeling itchy on his back so he plopped down and squirmed around on the sand while Jamila talked. He was listening, it was just reeeeeally itchy. Msrah had only recently learned that not all dads hunted and not all moms minded cubs, and at first he hadn't believed the cub that had told him.
"Did you know not all daddies hunt," he asked, "Some do other stuff!"
He was glad that his sister showed some enthusiasm over learning the prayers. Impressing others was not his main motivation to learn. He just liked the sound of many voices mingling when everybody sang. But she had great ideas!
"Oh, oh..." he said, still wiggling but more from excitement than itchiness now. "Yes, daddy can teach us."
He got to his feet clumsily and started shaking the sand and dust out of his fur. He still looked a mess when he was done, but he grinned happily as his own personal dust cloud slowly settled.

Jamila had been rambling on when he spoke the words that shocked her into completely stop talking. Not all daddies hunted?! "Someone lied to you! All daddies hunt. All of then! Even the guards hunt. I bet the priests hunt, too! So how can you say not all of them hunt? What else would they do?" That's when she turned to look at him and then blinked.
He was... all dirty and poofy looking. It made her squeal and giggle and snort with delight. Yes, she was just like any other cub; easily distracted. She laughed so hard at him, tears stung her eyes and she started hiccuping before she could calm down. It took her a few minutes to let the laughter die down to the occasional chuckle or snort.
Finally catching her breath, she moved over to her tanned brother and started smoothing his fur down. He was dusty, too! She could feel the dirt on her tongue as she tried to help him out. Nothing a quick trip to the water wouldn't fix. When she deemed him pretty again, Jamila sat back on her haunches and scratched an itch on her shoulder.
"....Let's go to the watering place and then do something 'bout the prayers!"

Msrah nodded as Jamila confirmed what he had thought all along. The other cub he had talked to must have been mistaken. Hunting was what daddies did, even if they did other stuff perhaps.
"I'm going to be a priest hunter," he said, but it didn't sound right so he tried again, "Or hunter priest."
He then started to giggle for no other reason than that Jamila did. He didn't realise she was laughing at him, and he would probably not have cared anyway. Laughter needed no reason, it was just fun in it's own right. However, fun was over when she started prettying him up, and he stopped giggling and started squirming. Ewww... Only mommy was allowed to do that!
"Didn't need cleaning," he murmured, giving her a dark glare, "Yes, yes. Let's go to the water and then pray!"
It didn't occur to him that Jamila might have the idea to use the water to clean him more, he was just glad to do something other than being licked and maybe get a drink.

Oh, yes, a swim would do her brother, and herself, a lot of good. They'd be nice and clean for when they went to the temple. She knew the priests didn't like dirty cubs in the temples, even if it was to pray, which most cubs didn't understand. Stretching out, the pink female then bumped up against her brother and smirked, red eyes shining happily.
"Race you!"
She got a head start, of course, and knew she was cheating, but she also knew he was a lot faster than her, so a fair race wouldn't be very fair now would it? Giving her a head start was the only way!

Msrah was too nice to cheat on purpose and too naive to think others would, so he didn't find it unfair that Jamila was already ahead of him. A race! He loved races! Races were his absolute favourite! He got to his feet but nearly tripped over his own paws in the excitement. Msrah eventually managed to get all paws moving in an orderly fashion and bounced after his sister. Oh, fun, fun, fun, FUN! Her maroon tail tuft seemed to wave at him as if to tease him for being behind.
"I'll catch your tail," he yelled happily, "I'll catch your tail and chew on it!"
He loved chewing on tails if he could get away with it (and even if he couldn't). It was so much fun! He gained on his sister, but it was anyone's guess who would reach the water first.

"Eep!"
She knew he would catch her tail. He was so fast! Running as fast as her little paws could carry her, Jamila let out a breathless laugh and looked behind her, seeing how close he was. Raising her tail, he'd have to jump to get it now! "HA! You can't get it now, Msrah!" And she didn't even feel bad cheating to win.
Still, her sides were starting to her, so her pace slowed and she whine. He was going to win! Argh, that wasn't fair! Almost to the water, she had to stop and pant, brows furrowing. "Ooow..." Why did it have to be so far away? "Y-you win!" Her paws only moved toward it in a walk, side hurting away to bad. She didn't know how to breath through her nose when she ran, not yet, anyway. Instead, she breathed through her mouth because it was easier.

"Yes I can," Msrah shouted in a sing song voice, "I'll get your tail!"
He wasn't even interested in winning anymore since this much funnier game came up, but he needed to catch her tail to win the new game he had invented. That was the rules of the fun! When she stopped for a breather he pushed himself to run even faster and then leapt as high as he could in the air. This would either end in an epic pounce or in epic failure and right now the outcome was anyone's guess... Hopefully with tail chewing and not with owies...

She was panting hard and didn't want to move anymore when she finally stopped walking. Why did she hurt so bad? It wasn't that much of a run, was it? She'd have to talk to mama about this. See what she could do to make it not hurt when she ran. Those red eyes were closed as she focused on her breathing, standing on wobbly cub legs.
Then she collapsed with the weight of her brother, who was nomming on her tail and she couldn't help but give a playful growl and flick her tail excitedly. "Stop! It tickles!" It didn't tickle so much as she didn't like anything messing with her tail; but it did feel funny. "Haha, quit, Msrah!"

Msrah had forgot everything about the race and was happy wrestling with his sister and her delicious tail. She was giggling so he was giggling too, trying his best to stay on top and not fall over while batting at her tail tuft. Jamila made happy sounds so he didn't take her too seriously when she told her to stop. This was a fun game, at least if you didn't get stuck in the bottom with ALL your siblings chewing on your tail and ears. He'd tried that...
"You must say you give up," he giggled, "Or make me stop!"
