Adani walked slowly towards a group of pigeons and ducks that an older woman was feeding. Adani loved birds, she was absolutely fascinated by them. She looked around to make sure no one was looking directly at her and continued to slowly walk towards the group of them. Her mother was reading a paper nearby and would be occupied for hours. She had the run of the park while she was here. If only she wasnt so shy! She looked longingly at the kids playground and all the other children around her age having fun in groups. Adanis tail snaked its way into her hands and she began to pet her feathers in a nervous habit. She wanted friends so badly but it was just so HARD.

She shook her head and decided to focus on the birds, birds werent so bad right....it wasnt the same but it wasnt bad. She continued her sneaking when she saw a young boy nearby seemingly walking in her direction. Not knowing what to do she squeaked and froze. This boy did not look like he was in a good mood which only frightened her more. She watched him wide eyed and stood as still as possible hoping that if she didnt move he wouldnt see her.

Adani watched the boy with mounting fear as he came closer, but he didnt seem to notice her. please just pass by, just pass by...please she thought to herself. It looked like it would happen she was so close. Then BAM he spoke to her. She didnt even process what he said just the act and his gravely voice was enough to make her jump. In fact thats exactly what she did, as an automatic response Adani jumped backwards and managed a startled squeak at the same time. Her tail lashed out behind her to help her keep balance but unfortunately for her the flock of birds had moved behind her. The flurry of startled birds flying around her frightened her even more and she ran forward straight into the boy who scared her. Of course she was the slimmest thing ever so running into him was more like a feather running into a brick wall, the impact made her fall backwards onto her bum right in front of him.

This was just to much! Adani grabbed onto her tail and hid her face in its feather tufts. She was right where she had tried not to be! What was she gonna do! "Dont eat me!" was all she could manage to say as she hid her face behind her tail.

Adani peeked out from behind her tail tuft at the boys attempts of reassurance. "Y-y-your not gonna eat me?" she hated how surprised she sounded. The boy had big teeth so she tried to assure herself that him eating her was a perfectly rational explanation, but now that she looked back maybe she had been just acting out of fear. However she couldnt quite get herself out of fear mode, but she did manage to lower her tail tuft enough that her face was visible.

"I think I'm okay.....but you have such big teeth, you sure your not gonna eat me?" Adani glanced at him up and down and the signs werent really that good. he was bigger than her, had big teeth and wings...wait WINGS! He was a BIRD?!?! Her eyes grew wide as her mind started trying to absorb this new information. She couldnt help it, she was staring and she knew it. Then before she could help herself she asked "Are you a bird?!" immediately embarassed her tail tuft shot up to hide her face again.

Adani scrambled to her feet and watched in utter amazement as the boy flew up a little bit. he could FLY! He had also promised not to eat her, it was reassuring but she had to make sure. Once he landed she held out her hand which was fisted with only her pinky out. "Pinky promise you wont eat me." She hated to sound so insecure but being eaten was definately not something she wanted to have happen and pinky promises were the LAW as far as she was concerned.

She restrained herself from wanting to touch his wings but it was so strange that he would have 2 pairs of wings. did he have need more wings? Well he was bigger than a bird so maybe two pairs of wings were what let kids fly. She wondered about it. "Did a bird teach you how to fly?" It seemed like a perfectly good question to her. After all he had to be taught how to fly right, he couldnt just know. Well not unless he was way more amazing than she originaly expected him to be. "Can you teach me to fly? I have feathers too." She asked showing him her tuffed tail. True she didnt have wings but she wondered if a tail would be enough to get her off the ground.

Adani was super glad that the boy had pinky promised, she visibly relaxed and gave a small sigh of relief. She wondered what he meant by fifth teaching him. Adani could count and she hadnt realized that the number 5 was so special. She puzzled over this for a moment and before she could say anything the boy told her she needed wings. That was a bit of a downer but she half expected it. "hmn...I guess I dont have enough feathers. You might be right. Whats so special about five? how does it teach you to fly?"

Adani had to ask about the number five it was just to strange to learn to fly from a number. She fiddled with the feathers on her tail and wondered if there would ever be anything she could do to to get more feathers. "You sure I need wings? I couldnt just grow a bigger tail?" She asked half expecting the no she knew would be coming. Still it was always better to ask right?

"ooo..hmn not five...." Adani had to comit that to memory. So Five was a number but Fifth was a name. This was confusing but she would remember it to avoid being embarrassed in the future. yes avoiding embarrassment was the key to survival these days. Adani was about to reach out to the boy as he seemed about to fall but his wings twitched the right way and he didnt fall. DAMN she wanted wings!

"A plane...." Adani was about to ask what a plane was when the boy asked her about why she liked birds. Adani blushed and looked at her feet, her tail twitching behind her as she thought about how to best answer the question. "Uh....w-w-well you see....I ....I collect feathers. cause they are pretty, and soft." She stopped for a moment. She honestly did collect feathers and river rocks but it wasnt only the items virtues that made her do it. her greedy side for some reason had chosen to obsess on these items and so she did as her nature told her to. She had no idea how to explain this so just avoided that particular reason for collecting and continued. "I just like feathers," she stole a greedy glance at his wings then refocused "And Birds have feathers...so Birds are amazing, plus they sing and they are quiet. They keep me company. ....if I could fly I could see more of them."

Adani didnt know if she liked being called weird. She wasnt quite sure wat it meant for her yet since it wasnt the first time she had heard it. But just as she was about to ask about it Roman told her she might grow wings one day. All other thoughts were erased from her mind as she beamed up at him. That would be the best thing ever, she hoped in the future she would have wings, it would just be amazing!!

The just as she was filled with hope for the future Roman held out a feather to her. It was like holding out water to someone dying of thirst! She didnt even know what to do at first, all she could do was stare at it in shock and awe. It was such a pretty feather and slightly bigger than the ones she collected from her birds. It was a people feather! She reached out her hand slowly for it, half afraid that he would pull back at the last second and take it back. But he didnt seem like he was going to. She took the feather from him and held it like a holy grail. "For me? Thank you so much!" She cradled the feather like a small child, she would have to put this one in a glass box cause it was special! She was already making plans for it in her display room.
