As he slid into the cool crisp water of the small river, the only bit of water left for a long ways away. He sighed, blinking happily and cooing to himself- his tail floating to the surface behind him. He bobbed himself up and down, confidant that there were no crocodiles... nothing to worry about. He was so comfortable in the water-even though he usually hated it.
Being that he thought the fire was his basis of life-he usually despised the water. But it was so hot. SO SO HOT. He was a leopard. His people usually lived in water.
He lowered his muzzle and blew some bubbles.
Hogosha was feeling rather edgy today. For some reason he felt as though something or someone would ruin his day. Unfortuantly he was true. As he padded over the horizon, his tail hanging limply on the dry dirt-sending little cloud dusts upwards behind him. He sighed tossing his mane from his eyes, glaring around and sneezing.
He stopped short, gasping for breath in the heat and the dust. He hated this weather, not being able to take in a breath without sucking in dust and dirt and grime. He stopped short to cough and gasp. If only he could find some water.

As he walked along, he coughed again and lifted his head. He could see water. He could see relief. He sighed, a smile on his muzzle, as he started to trot faster towards relief-sweet relief! He could feel the water drizzling down the back of his throat, across his tongue. He sped up a bit, eager to sooth this heat. To make this temperature go away. To make his dusty tongue wet again.
But to his dismay, there was a red leopard floating around in the water. YUCK. He screwed up his face, ew. Floating around in the delicious water that should be drank and not bobbed around in. He sputtered his frustration, cause even if he told the filthy thing to get out-his fur and crud would still be floating around. With a sigh, he slowed down to the waters edge and sat-staring.
He hadn't even noticed someone approaching him. As far as he was concerned, everyone else was baking to death out in the sun while he was comfortable and cool. And that was all that matter. He bobbed his head under water and when he brought it back up-he was surprised to see a brown lion staring at him.
He looked frightened, for a moment, and then glared right back. "what?" He barked, his lips curling up in a snarl. He felt a little uncomfortable now. Someone just staring at him while bathed. He felt all sorts of uncomfortable.

Hogosha stared down at him, his expression blank. Now the leopard looked rather shy. Or just upset upon being noticed rolling around in everyones drinking water. He clicked his tongue against his teeth. "You're in everyone's water... flopping yourself around and expecting us to drink it anyway! Thats so disgusting!" He said simply.
He lifted his nose to see what the leopard was going to say to him, considering he himself was so disappointed and disgusted with the creature. "I wanted to drink some water.. but... not anymore. I'll die of thirst... like every other beast around."
Zo felt a bit upset at the words that escaped the lion. Disgusting? Wasting their water? Who's water? This area didn't belong to one person. They all could sit around and stare at the lovely red leopard floating around. "Well... come in then.. if you have a problem with me in this water!" He said, flipping his paws at the stranger, splashing at him the 'filthy water'
"This water is not filthy... Just because I am in it right now.. doesn't mean it isn't drinkable! I haven't stopped anyone from drinking from this water and it is running... gosh... way to be picky!"

Hogosha snarled and spat at the creature who was so full of himself. He couldn't believe how full of himself this leopard was. No one wanted to drink his nasty disgusting self in that water. Ugh. He felt repulsion bubbling up over his tongue. It was so gross to him. He looked at that creature and spat again. "Either way... you are floating around and everyone deserves a turn to drink without staring at you swimming."
He lifted his head and nodded, looking around trying to spot someone else who may want something to drink. There was no doubt somebody else wanted to drink, the way the sun beat down on everyone. He coughed again, while splatters of water droplets hit him in the face. He snarled, glaring at the leopard.
He laughed at him. Openly and loudly. If he was so so so thirsty, why didn't he just drink! The world worked through water. Why not just drink. "Seriously. If you are thirsty. Drink! The water is fresh, and cool. This little haven will soon disappear from existence a** soon as the elephants find this. This water... won't be here long. It-is-refreshing!"
He bobbed his head under and drank deeply from the well. "See. If I can drink you. YOU can too!" He drank again and sighed loudly. "Ooh this is nice.. You will sit there and die from thirst or will you drink and go on with your life... find a love and a pride!?" He asked.

Hogosha stared down deeply into the cool crisp water, dying to have a taste. He licked his dry lips, wanting so badly to stave the thirst that welled up inside him. He could feel the water falling past his tongue, like blood welling from a wound. He lowered his head, paused, made a face of disgust, lowered it more. And then he stuck his muzzle into the water and drank.
He drank so deeply, he didn't care if chunks of leopard floated in. He was thirsty. This water was so good-so clean-so cool. He almost felt sick from it... it was almost too much for him. He was getting drunk from it.
"Slow down! If you drink like that you will kill yourself!" He said from his watery haven, lifting a paw from the water and splashing the lion. The poor fool would fill himself with water and die quickly if he didn't take heed!"
Hogosha lifted his head as the leopard told him to stop-licking his lips and coughing and sputtering. It was so god. He felt instantly better. He sighed with a smile. "You were right... I shouldn't have been so disgusted with you bobbing around in the water. "
He coughed and stepped away from the water, turning his head over his shoulder. "Still tastes like dirty leopard to me thought." He said with a laugh before padding away without as much as a thanks!"
The leopard simply sighed and continued his bobbing around
