[He used to be part of the Tyranny of the Forgotten] Rank Sekani has returned to being a wanderer Mate: Sekani doesn't know any wolf well enough to be her mate General Appearance: In comparison to the number of strangely-coloured wolves wandering around the Woods, Sekani looks rather plain. He does not have blue fur, nor does he have any particularly strange markings on his body. His fur is a motley brown, turning into a golden colour on his legs and his muzzle. Sekani's ears are tipped with black, the darkest part on his entire body. His eyes are a pale yellow, very moon-like in their colour. The only strangle part about his appearance is the smoky grey twirl over his right eye. It doesn't appear to affect his vision, and acts as his only distinguishing mark. Niwet-i - My City
During the day the sun blazed so hot that few creatures would dare walk outside for fear of being burnt to a crisp. At night it was so cold that only select animals with fur would venture outside of their safe homes to find food and water. Then again, there were some nights that you couldn’t go out because the sand was whirling so fast that it was impossible to see. There were no leafy-green plants, only cacti and the occasional bush. Nothing to mark territory with and nothing to use as a marker to get home. There was little food and an even small quantity of available water. In short, the desert was only ideal for the creatures that belonged there.
But that did not concern Anhur.
Anhur was one of the Caravan, a small tribe of traveling wolves who lived in the desert. They were small, but fierce, attacking traveling bands of humans or any other creature that came into their territory in order to sustain themselves. They learned by watching other mammals that the cacti held water, and by experience that camels had a very painful kick. Anhur had been born and grown up in the desert, and he was at much at home there as his brethren. Even so, life was harsh.
In the year that Sekani was born no caravans had passed through their territory. Their food supply was running scarce, and the need to provide for Moswen drove Anhur to do whatever he could to find food. He went over the boundaries of the Caravan's territory, pillaging the homes of smaller mammals and even risking his life in an attempt to take down a camel. The food that fed Moswen was enough to sustain her pregnancy, however, when the time came, she only gave birth to one pup. The puppy was named Sekani, for many of the tribe had laughed at Moswen and Anhur for trying to raise a pup during hard times.
Fortunately for Sekani, the famine came to an end shortly after his birth, and the tribe was able to provide for themselves and their newest member. Luck, however, was no on the pup's side for long. He managed to get himself caught in a trap set out by one of the human caravan members, and was snagged around the neck by a thick rope. For days, he was towed behind the human caravan, the rope tied much too tightly around his neck. By the time his mother came to his rescue the damage had been done. Sekani's vocal chords were damaged, and he could only manage a harsh, rasping bark several months after the incident. It was, however, assumed that he was mute, and Sekani never did anything to refute that assumption.
And so life went on as usual, Sekani wandering from place to place, until the Caravan eventually stumbled upon the edge of the Woods. Sekani, curious about this new land, decided then to leave his pack and move on. His mother and father were old by then, and they would be laid to rest in the desert soon enough. So he left, and entered the Shaoilin Woods, ready for a new adventure.

Key-iew - Other Dogs Reicher was the first wolf that Sekani really "met." Sure he'd interacted with a few wolves in the Woods, but Reicher really made Sekani interested. Sure the wolf was a little scary to look at, but he seemed to accept Sekani's inability to speak pretty well. Pretty well being the key word. He nearly took a piece out of Sekani's face when the wolf didn't reply to his question. However, that is in the past, and Reicher seemed to accept Sekani for what he was. He even invited Sekani to join his pack, an invitation that Sekani gladly accepted. It was his first experience with pack life in the Woods, and life was very eventful under Reicher's rule. He guided their small pack into the barren wasteland underneath the volcano, and then proclaimed that land his own. Sekani, however, didn't get much time among the pack. Most of the time he spent in the volcano lands was with Reicher's son, Guaf. Sekani hasn't seen Reicher since he went up to survey the territory. Oh Guaf, the strange pink son of Reicher. Where to start? The relationship between Guaf and Sekani was a very strange one. Most of Reicher's pups took to an adult when they were allowed to venture out on their own, and Sekani was fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to be given Guaf. Or rather, he was given to Guaf. The pup was irritated with his inability to speak, however he decided that he was going to name Sekani and keep him as a pet. Sekani, now called "Snail", spent his time at the beck and call of the young pink pup, making sure he stayed out of trouble and remained safe no matter what. He hadn't been assigned the duty by Reicher, but it was the least he could do for the wolf who took him in. Sekani hasn't seen Guaf since he was a pup.

Meeting Reicher (and others) - Part 1Kochikens As he tore through the body he didn't eat a scrap. Reicher did not hunger for the un-necessary meat, he could always get more, and it wasn't as if something like hunger would kill him! The wolf giggled quietly as this thought crossed his mind, although it came out as more of a devious cackle. His stiff and hard looking fur looked suctioned to the emaciated body, looking gaunt and haggard though still large and bulky enough to cause some damage. Not that he necessarily could. It didn't help that his face was hued like that of the skull he was lavishing with care and love, looking like death himself. Not that the wolf didn't know that, he adored this already, and knew just how handsome he was and wouldn't be told any different.
Reicher was ever attendant of his surroundings, waiting and listening to see if someone would approach to attempt to steal his prize. Hah, silly ducklings. He would love to see them try! Chibi-Baka-chan What was that wolf doing? Sekani watched silently from his place in amongst the bushes, head tilted just slightly. It was enough to give him a subtle look of inquisitiveness, if one were to study the young, tawny coloured wolf long enough. How strange. Tearing up something without eating it seemed a rather pointless thing, especially for a wolf. Food was food, and should be treated as such. However, whether the wolf was puzzled, confused, or even irritated, there really wasn't any sign on his face of the emotion. Strange? Perhaps. But that was Sekani for you. Tamiko-chan Helaku soared on yellow paws over the lush landscaped. Fur sweeped back and tongue lolled out of the side of his mouth as he ran. His paws weren't the slightest bit sore and he felt like he could go on forever. Yet he knew that wasn't possible when he felt an oh-so-familiar rumble in his stomach. Reluctantly he heeded the call and slowed down, almost to a stop. There was another in the area. Male. Greeeeeat. But.. he had food. But he knew he couldn't possibly get food from another.. other wolves didn't take much of a liking to him besides Suza and Akamu.
"Well, worth a try," he said to himself. Laku gave himself a thorough shake to clear his fur of that airy feeling he got from running so long and so fast. A deep breath escaped his lips as he began trotting in the direction of the other wolf. Yet once he was close enough he began to recognize the smell that was carried on the wind.. was it.. it was! That wolf that had scared him and his adoptive sister.. the second wolf he had ever bumped into since he arrived here. Even better.. not. But there was food! Deciding to try his luck, the yellow adolescent crept through the bushes, not trying to hide himself, just feeling more secure that way.. Dagi In the shadows crept a lone wolf, his paws hit the ground without a sound and he made his way gracefully though the brush. He was expertly hidden in the shadows, his purple and black pelt blending in amongst them and making wolf and shadow one. This adolescent was of Feanaro's pack from the valley, he had wandered off and found himself here... Where ever here was. He'd make his way back eventually, being away from his companion Nafeeza for so long dampered his spirits greatly. As he ran along, the purple wolf stopped for a second, his maw raised high and nose sniffing. There was the smell of blood in the air, the smell of a kill, the smell of a meal perhaps? A smirk came to the dark animal's maw as he changed his course and made a bee-line to where he smelled the meat.
What he found was the it was already occupied by a rather strange looking wolf. Keefe stopped a bit away from the cackling wolf and stood still, blinking in confusion at what it was doing. The mostly white wolf didn't seem to be eating the kill and this stuck Keefe to be rather peculiar. Kochikens Reicher heard something moving, breathing, he knew the plethora of scents and sounds that he had come to recognize as another wolf. Male. Young. Foolish to approach him! Not only that, there were more! Atleast two other close to him, he could feel the eyes burning through his hide, it was a sesnation which he recognized. It wasn't Sashta as he had been hoping.... The males ears swiveled to the origin of the other, his eyes pinpointed and spotted Helaku. He recognized him, for the skeletal wolf had seen this other before. Curious! Someone actually approaching him? What did he want? Surely he had no interests in socializing, for that was pathetic! Then again, Reicher pondered to himself, all other wolves compared to himself were pathetic. He grinned smugly and watched the other approach, now sitting upright and watching the other down the bridge of his nose, taking a long lick of toothy muzzle to clean off any reminants of the boar. He didn't forget the two others though, one of a deep purple... Who was looking at him.. And yet another who was looking straight at him! What was the meaning of this?
Surely there was a reason he was being congregated around. For if there wasn't, there would be hell to pay. Reicher knew he wasn't insane for thinking that someone was always watching him, afterall, someone always was! This just proved him to be even smarter then he already knew he was! Fools! A grin broke out on his face as this thought passed through his mind, keen ears listening to everything around him as he attended the corpse. Tamiko-chan Well, at least he wasn't completely alone with the supposedly crazy white and black wolf. From what he could smell on the wind and what the wind would allow him to smell, he found out that there were two other males besides himself and Reicher. One was a deep purple in color and smelt very strange to Laku, as if the other male wasn't really from around these parts. The other was much lighter in color, and seemed to have more natural of tones unlike himself, who had bright yellow with bits of green.
At least I haven't been attacked, the young wolf thought to himself. That was a good thing. He wouldn't want to wander around helplessly with bruises and cuts all over his body. Just from looking over Reicher he could tell that the monochrome wolf was well-built and well-fed, too. He certainly didn't want to get on the other's bad side, so he stayed where he was until someone else made a move. Chibi-Baka-chan More wolves? A black-tipped ear moved backwards, then to the right before returning to its initial position. It seemed the smell of a kill had not only attracted himself. Huh. Chancing a look to his right, a small sniff confirmed that there was, indeed another wolf nearby, and another, not too far off from the first. None of them seemed any threat to him, the attention focused on Reicher.
Shifting his position to allow his hind leg to reach an itchy ear, Sekani did nothing. He was an observer, not a social butterfly. If the other wolves wanted the kill, then that was fine. He didn't need it. He was simply curious. Dagi There seemed to be more than one wolf surrounding this odd male, perhaps Keefe had stumbled onto a pack of some sort. His eyes narrowed, hoping his rather weak suspisions weren't right. He knew Feanaro had many enemies around the area and he was already greatly out numbered. His amber eyes flitted to the white male and he took a steady step forward, his expression serious and hiding all of his other thoughts.
"Your little ritual there doesn't seem very orthodox"
It was more of a statement than anything else. He took a quick glance at the others, they were all fairly young. This fact made Keefe loosen up a little, he didn't feel much threat from young wolves. He had the strength to over power them if need came to that. With a calm sigh he took another step casually and kept his gaze on the wolf in question. Kochikens Arrogant little beast. Just walking right up to an immortal. That didn't bother him though, for it wasn't easy to recognize when a greater being walked in your midsts. His pure white eyes focused on the deep hued wolf, looking down up him. "What does it matter? It's mine, and what I decide to do with it is my decision. Not like you could ever effect what I do." The skeletal wolf spat at the other. If it had of been possible for Reichers sullen eyes to show emotion, or for his face that bore the mask of a skull to look angry, it was almost positive that his countance would look more then a little annoyed.
Reicher hated to hear others opinion when they were stupid. Because that meant they thought they mattered compared to him. But there were still two others in the bushes, watching him. A crisp white paw was placed overtop of the boars hide as he kept an eye on the two of them. Not that it was possible to tell where the pupiless wolf was watching. Chibi-Baka-chan The dark male moved first. Sekani paused for a moment in his ear scratching to watch Keefe, before resuming when no brawl broke out between the two. It didn't look like the fight would be much of one, even if the white male had charged down the darker one. Moving into what humans would call the "sit" position, Sekani took a moment to study the rather eccentric-seeming Reicher. He wasn't entirely sure whether the lighter of the two males was simply being protective of the kill, or was just a normal, snarky wolf. It was probably the latter of the two. It figured.
Unable to resist a yawn, the tawny male shook his fur, waiting to see what the male that remained hidden would do. If they were all after the kill, perhaps it wouldn't be too troublesome to help out a little. If not, he could always sit and watch. He had nothing else to do, since conversation had always escaped him. Tamiko-chan It seemed yawning really was contagious. Just after Sekani had given off a yawn, Laku did the same, parting his jaws to reveal pearly whites, though not meaning anything in the gesture. He was just a little bored. The purple male had taken the first step yet nothing had really happened. The mostly white wolf did what was instinctive in a wolf: guard your kill. So to the yellow male, nothing here was worth noting and worth watching with interest. Yet he didn't leave. Surely the other male would make a move at some point? If Reicher was paranoid enough something would break out.. wouldn't it? Dagi The white wolf didn't seem all too pleased with Keefe's intrusion, but then again, that was a normal reaction. The skeletal wolf had an eerie aura about him, perhaps it had something to do with those blank eyes of his. Keefe narrowed his own amber eyes at the arrogant words of the other. Keefe's reply was initiated by a scoff from him as he looked down at the other,
"It doesn't really matter, curiosity perhaps?"
His paws shuffled as he moved closer to the white wolf, circling him curiously in a way. He sure didn't like the attitude of this one, that little snot really needed some sense and manners beat into him if Keefe had anything to say about it.
"I wouldn't want to affect anything of yours, you barely seem worth any effort by the looks of it." Kochikens Reicher, however, was just as large as Keefe was, not to mention he was on the older side of Adolescent. And looked just as brawny and bulky as well, not that appearance had anything to do with ability. But the wolf was amused by this lesser being snobbyness. "Would you really stoop to the level of attempting, you'll note my word attempting, to kill another wolf simply because he perfers to skin a beat of it's hide and treasure it's bones rather than eat it?" After he spoke in that irresitably heinous voice of his, that was neither high nor deep, he clicked his purple tongue to the roof of his mouth.
"For that would only make you look pathetic, silly duckling." The bone wolf added, continuing with a hyena-esque laughter. This was dreadfully amusing! Oh, his laughter mimiced that of a banshee wail. It filled the air and had a degree to it was would curdle ones blood or roll their stomach, it wasn't the natural chuckle of humor. It was another thing all together.
Dagi Keefe hadn't yet taken the liberty to size up his opponent. It wasn't usually the first thing that came to mind when meeting new wolves. Besides, he certainly hoped this wouldn't elevate to a brawl of some sort, he would surely to his best to keep it at conversation level though it might not be too easy, this white wolf did seem rather out of his sorry mind. There was a low growl from Keefe, "Who said anything about killing? I could care less about what you want to do with your kill. Perhaps you should think a little before letting that maw of your run off" His ears pressed back as the laughter rang out. It was disturbingly loud and obnoxious. How the white wolf had managed to teach himself to make sounds like that was beyond him. ((Good lord I have to go x.x Cya guys later!)) Chibi-Baka-chan Yep. He was definitely right about the "naturally snarky" bit. Not surprising. One learns a lot of things when you don't speak. There was a saying or something that went with that. Whatever. Off topic. Moving on.
Sekani blinked as the white wolf spoke again, inwardly surprised. A simple "go away b***h" would have sufficed. And what made him believe that the darker one would kill him? Jeeze. What a strange wolf. Caught off guard by the eerie laugh, Sekani's ears flipped backwards, a subtle frown forming on his face. Just when he thought that the white one couldn't get any weirder. Tamiko-chan Helaku tilted his head slightly as he listened to the conversation between the purple wolf and the white and black one. Such an odd fellow, thinking the other wanted to kill him. Where did that come from? Obviously, his first impression of Reicher wasn't too far off. It seemed like the old adolescent really was a bit out of his skull there and that bothered Laku. What if he decided that the others around him weren't fit for living? The yellow male certainly didn't want to die here without 'preparing' or some other such thing. Really, he was a little scaredy-pup afraid of encountering someone who has much advantage over him.
I'm out, he thought to himself. With that, the yellow wolf slunk off, hopefully unnoticed, to safety and away from the other wolves.. especially Reicher.

Meeting Others - Part 2 Stormy Hound "And then we'll go back and we'll..." The young one sighed. He was lost and he knew it, but had come way to far to backtrack. "I wouldn't go back if I could anyway Father." He trotted, speaking around a fresh trout to seemingly nothing.
After stopping to eat he carried on winding his way through bushes and around trees. He knew not where he was, but was damn sure of one thing. The climate had changed drastically. Suddenly his ears perked and the already messy and tangled fur on the back of his neck rose as an insane noise filled his ears. Interested beyond reason he dropped to his belly and sought to come closer to the noise. Kochikens His laughter had a hard time subsiding when he saw not only the opposing wolf leave, but then the yellow one who he had terrorized as a child too! This was only too lovely, too lovely indeed! Although he commended them for knowing to leave when they were in danger. It was a lesson that one should never learn too late in life.
His attention shifted from the fleeing wolves, now to the remaining one. That and a new scent. "Ah, you can be frightened if you want." Reicher spoke aloud to Sekani, peering down at him from a distance. While he was speaking, he raised his ears which held bones to listen to which direction the new scent was coming from. Chibi-Baka-chan The male that had been hidden like him had left. Not that Sekani blamed him. That laugh was enough to scare anything away. Once the coast was clear and that odd white male had stopped, black-tipped ears rose again, hoping that was it for the cackling. It wasn't even laughing.
About to take his cue to leave, Sekani turned and nearly walked right into a slinking pup. The wolf wouldn't have even noticed the young one if it hadn't been for the brightly coloured fur. His ears perked, one turning backwards to "keep and eye" on Reicher, tilting his head just slightly. Where had this one come from? Stormy Hound ((*hope she got the post order right*)) OOf. "What the.. " He looked up angry, this wolf had the nerve to walk all over him! "Watch where you're going next time, aye?" He took a moment to recompose himself before looking around the one who had run into him. It really didn't strike him that maybe it was an accident.. he HAD been sneaking after all.
"Are you .. did y.. were you laughing?" he asked the white wolf, eyes widening at how deliciously interesting he was patterned. He stood and padded to him all the while sizing him up, sniffing all the while to inhale all the new wolf scents around him.Kochikens Reicher watched the pair of wolves, one who had ignored him, the other who was young and didn't look terribly smart. Well, no one looked very smart to Reicher. Except for Sashta. Wait... Was it... was it talking to him? The skeletal wolves vision pinpointed on the loud creature.
"Does it matter?" He replied cynically before he returned to the cleaning of the Boar. Reicher had already gotten through most of the skull, and now was cleaning the jaw of the beast. Busily tearing through the muscle and tendons of the mouth, he was barely paying attention to either of them. Chibi-Baka-chan Momentarily forgetting about Reicher, Sekani took a step back, frowning slightly. Watch where he was going? It clearly had been an accident. No wolf should really mean to step on anyone. Someone was a little haughty. Watching as the pup approached the white wolf without a hint of fear - strange considering that cackle that was still ringing in his ears - he decided he might as well let the other wolf see him. No harm in that.
Stepping out from his "hiding place," Sekani watched the other wolf quizzically. Did he enjoy pulling apart a kill without eating it? Definitely strange. Stormy Hound Quieting a bit, but definitely not put off by the others cold manner. He sat and watched the other a bit before answering. "No, it really doesn't."
He looked over his back at the other wolf, noting the frown. Hmm.. He really didn't mean to be uppity about it, but didn't see reason to apologize for it either. "Where were you going in such a hurry?" he asked, never really taking an eye off his new obsession - the white wolf. Kochikens Atleast the little beast knew when he was wrong about something. Reicher was glad he was never wrong, then again, that came with perfection. He couldn't help but feel pride in knowing that everyone had been so intruiged by him. Not that it wasn't obvious of course. Afterall, he was so extremely interesting.
The bone wolf continued with his task, now riding the mouth of most of it's contents. However, he made special care to make sure that he didn't knock any of the teeth out. Especially the boards massive sabers of teeth. Chibi-Baka-chan It took Sekani a moment to realize that the little pup was speaking to him, as usually when you were being spoken to, the wolf was looking at you. However, it seemed that Rochir couldn't bear to take his eyes off of the white wolf. Fascinated? Perhaps. He wasn't entirely surprised.
Unable to answer the question, since it wasn't a yes or no question, he gave a small tail wag and shake of his fur. If that wasn't a sufficient enough answer, then there was little Sekani could do. Gestures really weren't his thing. Stormy Hound That was.. interesting he thought as he noted the tail swish. "What.. you can't talk?" he spoke, trying very hard to take the arrogance and spite from his voice, however failing. He meant it as an honest question, not a harsh making fun.
How very fun.. caught in the middle of two interesting wolves. On the one paw he had this white wolf, content to rip the innerworkings of his boar OUT of his boar. He seemed cool and level, but had a mysterious aire of insanity about him.
On the other paw.. silence. Chibi-Baka-chan Sekani's ears flipped back at the rather mocking tone, pale eyes narrowing slightly. The very small changes in his posture indicated irritation, not too pleased with the pup who acted rather arrogantly for his size. Sighing inwardly, he decided to forgive. Perhaps the little one hadn't meant it like that. Just perhaps.
With a very small shake of his head and an even smaller, apologetic wag of his tail, Sekani's part of the conversation had ended. Not much of one, but he had attempted to get his point across. Stormy Hound Rochir's ears went flat and his head drooped ever so slightly. "Oh... " He hadn't realized the wolf was mute. Not that he pittied him, he just wished he had someone to talk to since his new idol wasn't paying him much attention. He was feeling a bit sorrier now that he had snapped, he was just so tired.
"Sorry about earlier.. I know you didn't mean to walk into me." He let his tongue loll from the side of his maw. "I'm Rochir." he introduced himself, wondering if the mute wolf had a name and if so, how he let anyone know. Chibi-Baka-chan That 'perhaps' had been right. The pup hadn't meant it. Most wolves with a short temper were a little bit snarky when they didn't get a response right away from him. It wasn't surprising. As Rochir apologized, Sekani wagged his tail a little more noticeably, the expression on his face having softened just slightly. Having a hard time being expressive and being mute weren't really a good mix.
So the pup's name was Rochir? That seemed like a nice name. With a small cough, Sekani attempted to bark out his name, though the hollow, scratchy sounds that came from damaged vocal chords could hardly be called "barks." Finally able to get a decent sounded "Se", "ka" and "ni" out, he proceeded to cough a few more times, making it clear why he didn't speak. Tamiko-chan Whisper wandered aimlessly through the forest. She had been doing absolutely nothing these past few weeks and hadn't run into that many other wolves. Really, she didn't mind not meeting others of her kind, that just meant she would be more likely to stay alive, not running into dangerous wolves and the like. Yet it bothered her to the limit where she couldn't think straight. It seemed like she was going mental when really she had complete control over her brain--she just didn't realize it. Her fur was shining and brushed by the wind despite her living on her own. Normally, a lone wolf would be scrawny and hardly able to sustain his/herself. But not her, she knew all too well how to fish and did fairly well with rabbits, especially the fat and slow ones.
"Where now?" she questioned herself, thinking she was alone. Though in reality she wasn't, it didn't occur to her. Sure, she could scent the others in the area, but the smells didn't click in her brain fast enough. So instead of approaching the males with caution and with her body in a passive stance, she just walked slowly by them. Stormy Hound Rochir smiled at the others fast moving tail. It was good to see a happy wolf. As he listened to the other wolf "bark" it sounded painfully obvious as to why he didn't speak... "Sekani." he stated, confirming that he got it right. He turned the name over in his head a few times, comitting it to memory. Just as he was about to get up to stretch he spotted something quite odd. A new wolf - shewolf by the smell of it - just.. walked right by.
"Well.. what do you think that's for?" he asked of his new friend, canting his head to the side. She seemed to be in a daze. Chibi-Baka-chan Sekani nodded as Rochir correctly said his name, glad he had been able to say his name still after all this time of not speaking. In his home, he had had his mother around to tell everyone what his name was so he didn't have to. But it was different now. He was just pleased that Rochir had been able to pull his name from his strange "barks."
Momentarily distracted from the pup by Whisper, the wolf's ears perked, watching the dazed wolf go by. Where was she going? Had she not seen them? Tamiko-chan Ivory-tipped ears twitched ever so slightly as Rochir asked his new friend about Whisper. Her paws suddenly stopped moving as she realized where she was and that there were others around her. It was as if something else had possession of her during the time that she had been traveling, and now she had her mind back and was able to scent, hear, and see things again. Her head turned and dark eyes surveyed the two males in front of her. One was a pup and the other was older. More males.. more hormones. She didn't much mind anymore as she hadn't been affected by them for so long so instead of her normal hide-and-try-to-make-yourself-invisible act she did, the female just lowered her body ever so slightly into a passive posture.
The older of the two hadn't spoken that she knew of.. maybe he was mute. Maybe she could pretend to be mute.. that would be interesting. Yet if she felt the need, she would talk. But for now Whisp just stood there, waiting for one of the other two to make a move so she could tell whether they were friend or foe.
