Kamino is a windy, stormy world, a planet of endless seas dotted with small atolls and almost no landmass of note.
It's murky, abyysal depths conceal monsters and wonders, and are oft times left to nature. The natives of Kamino, the gentle and intelligent Kaminoans, live on floating Stilt Cities made of grey durasteel.
Surprisingly, the coloration is actually false. To non-Kaminoan visitors, the walls appear blank and grey, but to the multispectral vision of a Kaminoan these barren, utalitarian walls are covered in complex multi-colored patterns, historical paintings, and vibrant murals. Even their clothing follows this basic design. They see colors that no other race has ever even heard of.
Their primary means of transport across this perpetually storm swept world are the large, gentle Aiwhas, flying cetaceans that are close relatives of the Alderaanian Thranta. These creatures can also swim, as many Kaminoans live below the surface in cluster-cities that are closed to outsiders.
The primary city is the domed cloning facility known as Tipoca City. Kaminoans are extremely intelligent entities and masters of genetic manipulation, and as such have long been available for their unique abilities. The Republic, at the opening of the Clone Wars, utilized a pre-ordered Clone Army from Kamino.
Tipoca City is currently a training ground for Clones and Volunteers for the republic, offering equipment, training and housing for Republic troops. Housing and shopping facilities are also available to visitors, as the Kaminoans are a welcoming race.
Cities Of Note: Tipoca City.
Sentient Species Of Note: The Kaminoans are a calm, docile race that specialize in scientific endeavors. They are tall, long-necked and slender, with grey skin and black eyes. The males sport decorative fan-like fins running from the top of the skull to the base of the neck. They have slitted nostrils which are used to block salt water when swimming, and their multispectral vision allows them to identify any creatures or entities within range while submerged.
Non-Sentient Species Of Note: Aiwhas are large, gentle fish eaters which both fly and swim. They lack hind limbs, and are generally black and white in coloration. They are a form of cetacean with immense wings that aid in both flight and underwater movement.
