Name: Morton
Nicknames: Mort, Morty (He would much prefer the former)
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Faction/Race Monster / Gargoyle
Personality: Fun loving, mischiveous and with a knack for getting himself into trouble. It's not that he goes out of his way to look for trouble... it's just that his idea of a 'good time' tends to have consequences which he did not initially predict. In other words, Mort is an 'act first, think later' sort of guy and has a tendency to go with whatever his gut tells him feels right at whichever particular moment. Unfortunately, what feels right to him might not always be the best option and since pausing to think things through is unheard of for him (Thinking? Who ever heard of that!), he lets himself be guided by his feelings.
He's not a 'bad' guy, but he can often time come off as blunt or even callous or 'jerk' like because of his tendency of saying what comes to mind. Half of the time, he's not even trying to ofend people, and finds himself absolutely bewildered when others snap - it takes a while for him to figure out that maybe, just maybe... what he just said wasn't the smartest thing he could have said at that precise, particular moment. He walks around with his proverbial heart on his sleeve, and is pretty much an open book; if Mort likes you, you're going to know. Of course, if Mort hates you, you're also going to know just as easily, though his opinions are liable to change.
That said, Mort feels an almost obnoxious (at least to him) need to protect; he feels a need to protect his dorm room, his friends, hell, he probably feels the need to perch atop that ledge and protect that gate over there. His friends will find that having him around can be both beneficial and... irritating, for he can sometimes cross into being over protective. He also has an affinity for high up places, which might be directly linked to his need to oversee things. He usually tends to find himself drawn towards ledges, windowsills, or just generally... the highest place in the room/place, which he can access via flight or just general climbing. It's almost a compulsion, and he can usually not help himself.
The fact he's rather hopeless against magic attacks makes him leery of most magic users as a rule of thumb. Seeing as how what Mort feels, Mort shows... well, let's just say he doesn't make it a secret when he dislikes or distrusts someone.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Mort really, really, really wants to go out into the Human world. Not only does he think the place would be particularly interesting and fun, but there are sure to be a ton of interesting structures he could protect while getting a good kick out of scaring off those that trespass. He couldn't possibly imagine a better life than that! Unfortunately, to do this, he must first master his FEAR and attend school, which... really, isn't all that bad; there's lots of interesting, new people to meet, and he's sure there's quite a few, nice ledges to prowl.
FEAR: Manipulating FEAR, Mort is able to solidify his body into stone while still being able to move around. This can ward off most physical attacks but is completely ineffective against magical attacks.
Natural Ability: Able to shift into his 'true form', which is a slightly bigger, more feral looking, completely skeletal version of himself. Picture/ref to come later, in the future, when it's not so late.
