Clermeilli-Pie yawned and sprawled out in her little "den." She had not moved on in a few days now. She felt too sluggish. Other than hunting and going to the waterhole, she had not been leaving this spot. She was gaining weight and she had come to the conclusion that it was cubs by how and where the weight was going.
She had not really wanted cubs from the encounter with Roth, but then she had not really thought about wanting cubs at all anyway. It would be a lot of work to raise the cubs on her own, but perhaps she could continue searching for a pride once the cubs were born. She might be able to find one that would take pity on her and take them all in.
She flicks an ear and lifts her head slightly. Was that something moving outside? It sounded like something was sniffing at the entrance. She probably should get up and prepare to defend herself, but she really did not want to move. She levered herself up to sitting and watched the entrance.

He knew where to find her.. Like all the others, he had kept a tab on her to make sure she didnt escape.. Not yet. So far she had not gone anywhere, and he was quite happy about how easy it was to keep a watch on her. She was growing larger, or so he could see from the shadows whenever he watched her. He hoped that she was carrying the seed he had wanted. He grinned, stepping closer to the den, and prepared for the meeting.
He had not spoken with her since their last encounter, and though he was sure he hadnt been exactly pleasant, he knew she would not fear his return. He half expected that she knew he'd eventually show up.
Stepping to the entrance, he grinned inside, a formidable shadow staring out at the blue lioness.

Clermeilli-Pie was paranoid, yes, but that did not change how tired she was right now. When she saw that it was Roth at the entrance she just laid back down and yawned. He was not worth worrying over. And his presence would keep away anything else dangerous
"Back to see your work, Roth?" She lays her head on her paws and looks at him through half closed eyes. "Nice to see you again... perhaps you could help your pregnant female hunt?" She was hungry, but it was so hard to move. She had pretty much taken to hunting only hares and other small things because it was less effort.

His pregnant female? Oh no. He had knocked her up..But he had no responsibility to her besides those cubs that he would take from her anyway.. He wouldnt tell her just yet, though he raised his head a bit higher and narrowed an eye.
"Help you hunt? Have you become so incapable of such a life skill?" He asked. He hadnt really meant it to be snide, but Roth was good at snide.. He was good at being mean. It was something that came naturally.
"But yes, I came to see my handiwork." He said, walking into the entrance without waiting for her to give an invitation.
"I came to make sure youre doing what you can. Those cubs you carry are important. They are of my blood." He said, almost as if he was informing her..

"Oh, I am managing well enough. I just wanted to goad you a bit." She stretches and lifts her head again to watch him completely now. She did not expect he was here to really see her. He did not seem that nice, but any company was better than none, she guessed.
"They are of both our blood and my first litter. I am doing all I can for them." She smooths the fur over her swollen belly even though it was not out of place. Clermeilli-Pie was watching him closely, trying to read his body language.
He had come to check up on her. He thought the cubs important. She knew he did not think of her as important, and he was not a very compassionate lion. So did he have some plans for her? No, the cubs? That could be possible. "At least they have a strong father and a skilled mother."

"Good. I dont do well caring for others. With the pride taking care of the hunting with my other cubs, I do not have to hunt to survive or care for them. Id prefer not to have to now." He said very matter of factly.
"Yes, yes, yes," He said, mocking her a bit as he tilted his head side to side as if he was completely bored with the idea of it being her first litter. First litter, or fifth litter, it did not matter. She had best birth him healthy cubs.. What more could a female be good for anyway?
He snorted, and nodded. "Id hope so. Those cubs are an integral part of our future." He said with a nod. He supposed it was time to tell her of his plans for the brood.. After all they were her cubs too. Though the last part he truly didnt really care about.
"We must talk about the fate of the ones in your belly." He said, watching her groom, lifting a paw to smooth back his mane, then sitting tall again.
"The dark cubs, are to come with me. They are to be raised as a true demon would be. I have no interest in any light cubs, and unless you want slaves for my pride, you will take them." He commanded.

She listened and a rolled her eyes. "I would rather take them all, but I know I will not win on that." Clermeilli-Pie stared right into those red eyes for a moment. "Do you plan to stay around until they are born?" She really did not care about him mocking her. She was resigned to the fact that such was his nature.
"If you do, I would ask that you at least help me hunt to make it easier. I cannot hunt alone for both of us in this state, and the cubs are more important to feed than you to me." She stands and stretches again, going back to grooming. This time it was her paws.
She knew she pressed her luck with Roth, but she also knew that he could see the practical. If he did not wish to stick around, that was his choice. It would be more convenient if he decided to stay until the cubs were born, but at the same time, he would have to wait until they were weened to take them anyway.

He sighed. He supposed he had no choice but to stick around till they were old enough for him to take with him. The idea did not make him happy and he snorted. Growling a little in frustration he shook his head. "Fine. If its that important that I must stick around.. I will stay around. I wont be here for good, and I likely will leave and come as I please."
He looked at her, waiting for her to finish grooming before he continued. "And yes, taking all of the cubs would likely get you nowhere, and would make me have to kidnap them, and.. Id prefer not to have to be on the run. I prefer to act like adults." He said with a snort.
Why didnt you just kill her? The demon inside asked and he growled it away. He needed her for his cubs, and that was all.
"I can hunt, but I will not do it all the time, dont expect me to care or spoil you." He said with a nod.

"When you are here, a little help is all I ask. You do not have to stay, but it would be easier... I may not always be alone there are three others that sometimes travel with me when we cross paths." She gives him a little smile. "I do not plan to fight you, Roth. There is no point in it." He could be reasonable. She had to wonder at that.
"I do not wish you to go against your nature, Roth. I just want you to realize that practicality will not allow for me to slave away for you as things are." She had to admit just now she was enjoying the view before her. Clermeilli-Pie debated smoothing down a tuft of his mane that was out of place. No, she would leave that alone.

He had a feeling she liked him a bit more than she let on. He snorted a little, and pushed the thought out of his head. He was not interested in a mate, not with a female who was so clearly not what his pride would consider eligible for a demon. He had no interest in a mate at the current time anyway. He wasnt sure hed ever meet anyone to change his mind.
"Good. Because I wouldnt want to have to hurt you.. Not with you carrying my litter. Id hate that." He said, looking away, and picking up a paw to inspect a certain claw. Placing his paw back down, he sighed with a groan.
"I shall help when Im here. As for the three you say visit you.. Youd best hope they do not stand against me, or threaten my offspring. Otherwise I cannot say they will survive the encounter."

"They would be more likely to help me with the cubs, and no, they would not stand against you unless they thought you meant to hurt me or the cubs." Sometimes she wondered if he did have a soft spot for her. There were times he did more than just consider the practical when it came to her pushes for such that she wanted. She suspected it was just to get what he wanted, though.
"You will not have to worry about seeing myself or the 'undesirable' cubs once you leave with the others." She had heard a few rumors of a pride that might be worth checking out. She could hope they would take in her and her cubs, but she would not know until she tried.
"I need to hunt... would you like to help and share the meal? Or will I see you another time?" It was not a dismissal; it was more of an invite. She did rather like him, but others might think her a little touched in the head for that. She knew pretty much what to expect with him at least.

"I wouldnt hurt the cubs.." He said, looking at her with a raised eyebrow. He didnt say he wouldnt hurt her. He had no reason to hurt her..But that didnt mean he wouldnt have reason to should she defy him later. Best to leave all options open.
"Good. I dont sire undesirable cubs, and the ones that do come out.. unwanted.. I usually have killed. So it would be a good idea to make sure I do not know of the light ones existence." He said. He knew that with their markings, he could easily sire a cub with less desirable colors.. Like that abomination white cub in his last litter. He had had that little cub put to death. Or so he had thought, he had no idea that its mother had taken it to her mother to raise.
"I can help you hunt for now, yes. As for seeing me, Im not sure when that might be after this. Like I said, I shall come and go as I please." He said with a nod, standing and waiting.

"Do not think of those as your cubs then. Think of them as only mine if you do happen to see them. I will do my best to make sure you do not have to look upon them much, since that is your desire." Clermeilli-Pie leads him off to find something to hunt.
This would be an interesting arrangement between them. At least it would be a civil one. "Your cubs will know your name and what you are before you take them. I will try to at least prepare them for leaving." She stops to watch a passing herd of zebra.
