"Phew!" A musucular man dressed in a bright orange construction uniform wiped the sweat off his brow. He was dressed in a white shirt beneath, the bright uniform tied around his waist. He was certainly appreciative of the cold night breeze that blew, an indication of the coming season. "That was some hard work." He had just finished putting in some overtime to finish the last of the metal pillars for a new two story warehouse that they were building. Right now, the to-be warehouse consisted of orange markers that marked the site for construction, it's metal supports going both horizontally and vertically. Metal protruded from several of its joints, probably meant to be filled in and casted with walls or cement later.

There was a pile of rubble and a bulldozer lying around, typical of what you would find at any construction site.

By now, it had gotten dark enough so that there was only the street lamps to light the area. Unknown to the construction worker, a silhouette had been sitting on the ceiling beams for a few moments, obscured by the shadows. Enough with waiting. Without much of a flashy entrance or any saying, he jumped down behind the construction worker, landing on his knees with nothing more then a soft thud!

"Huh?" The civilian turned around, wondering at the odd sound. However, before he had a chance to fully turn around, Raite's hand was already impaled through his chest. His hand gripped onto the starseed, and pulled it out as quickly as he had started. The last expression to cross the man's face was shock before he collapsed on his face on the asphalt. Raite's face was as emotionless as always, but it wasn't something that Raite liked. It wasn't something that he reveled in, like others in the negaverse.

He turned away.

Sailor Chaonis was still getting used to the idea of being someone's savior. Of having lives in his hands. He didn't take his duties very seriously, and he certainly didn't do his job too well. Most of the time, he shirked off his patrol to go do something else.

Unless he felt like finding a fight. Youma were the usual order of the day, though he had met a Negaverser before. It hadn't been the best fight, but at least he had gotten out of it without being hurt or killed.

Even if he hadn't saved that human. But to his credit, he hadn't gotten there in time.

Now he was walking around, almost doing his job, when he felt a presence nearby. He moved toward it on instinct, and soon enough entered the work zone, and found the negaverser moving away from a fallen human. Damn it! Late again!

"Hey!" He called, to get the Nega to stop, but soon he realized he knew this one. The one that had beaten up Tony! Chaonis remembered finding witnessing the fight, and calling the police, though he hadn't seen much of Tony since then. Still, this was the guy that had been responsible for hurting Chaonis' father, and though they weren't exactly 'close' as far as family went, Chaonis was not going to let that slide.

He sensed the senshi's presence as soon as he entered the vicinity. Another powered being then. Raite turned around at the sound, his gray eyes assessing the intruder. "Another senshi?" He asked with a sigh. These nights were becoming bothersome. There appeared to be a senshi for every negaverse outing, as they tried to save the day with their useless sayings.

Regardless of Chaonis's knowledge of him, Raite didn't know this senshi. And Tony was one of the many civilians that Raite had targeted. He was just lucky enough to be let go. So while Tony was special to Chaonis, he held no significant importance to Raite.

"I hope you're strong." Raite answered to the call, his wooden tonfas materializing in his hands. He had thought tonight would be a quiet night, but perhaps there would be some entertainment after all.

Chaonis growled.

"You bet you're a** I'm strong! Sailor Chaonis, Senshi of Danger: damn right there's danger ahead." He didn't have a weapon, and his attack wasn't exactly as fancy or pretty as some of the other Senshi around.

He didn't shoot anything, or make anything appear. He didn't have any tricks or neat little moves. All he had was his fist, and a burst of power when he called out his attack. Speed and pure brute strength were his style, and he reveled in it, training himself to be stronger every day.

Oh, and there was that uncontrollable energy discharge thing, but he was working on that.

"Warning! Fisticuffs ahead!" Chaonis wasted no time calling forward his attack, and he rushed to attack the Negaverse agent, his eyes fixed on his opponent. Chaonis got the feeling that this guy was not someone he should underestimate, but he also knew that he owed the guy a beating after what he had done to Tony.

Seth held out his tonfa, and took the hit square on. The power behind the punch sent him flying backwards against the metal pillars, although that was debatable if it was a blessing or a curse. He landed with a rather large crash, and a distinctive bending of metal. On one hand, it stopped Raite's throw but on the other hand, it caused blunt force against his body.

But that wasn't enough to knock him out. Certainly not Lt. Raite. "I'm glad." He said in unbridled satisfaction as he stood up, using the pole to pick himself up. His lips had curved into a smile, his gray eyes finally paying attention to Chaonis, not with that indifference from earlier. "Maybe you'll be fun after all." He wiped away the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. He could see it in the other male's moves, his familiarity with fighting. As a street fighter himself, and due to his naturally competitive nature, Raite enjoyed those who matched up. Many of the senshi and civilians didn't.

While Chaonis may have concentrated in speed and blunt force, Raite was one for speed and precision. Without any warning, he covered the distance between him and the other male, quickly aiming with his feet in kicks that covered a broad expanse, and then following up after with quick tonfa swipes.

Chaonis watched the Negaverser go flying back, grinning in triumph. He knew the guy wouldn't go down so easily, but he felt a bit of satisfaction and vindication for what had happened to Tony, and not being able to help then, now that he was finally able to hit the guy for himself.

He wasn't surprised to see Raite grinning, either. It seemed this guy liked to fight almost as much as Chaonis did. Hell, maybe more. He would make an interesting challenge, to say the least. And Chaonis was up for it: he hadn't had a good hand to hand fight in a while. Most youma were too stupid to do anything like a street fight, and fighting with civilians wasn't exactly sporting. The Negaverse were the right guys for the job, and Raite seemed particularly well qualified.

Chaonis would have to be careful. Which generally didn't go well with Danger.

Attention snapping back to the battle, he saw the Nega coming his way, and fast. He lifted one arm to defend, getting kicked a few times but managing to block the tonfa with a bone rattling effort by his own arm. He moved to grab Raite's arm on that side, where the two had collided before he could pull away, holding him hostage while he swung his other fist for the guy's face.

So Chaonis wasn't the most chivalrous of fighters: that was the point. Playing nice was for tea parties. If you were going to fight, you did whatever you had to do to win.

Raite's other arm instantly went to defend, Chaonis's fist hitting the metal edge of his tonfa. "I see." Raite uttered, assessing Chaonis's style. While Raite didn't fight dirty, he had encountered a great deal of opponents, including Chaonis, that did.

But he didn't plan to stay in Chaonis's grasp. Even if he could grasp Chaonis's style, it didn't mean that he wasn't dangerous. He made a swipe of his tonfa against Chaonis's hand holding him hostage, and took the opportunity to jump back. He didn't fight dirty, not because of his morals, but because he was confident in that he had the skills required to take his opponents face on.

"I thought all senshi were weak." They were weak physically. There was no question about that. A great deal of them were. But they were also weak mentally, always saying idioticy such as 'saving' or 'death'. It was worth it to finally see someone who wasn't a complete hero among the senshi. He made a sudden move, lowering himself to his knees and jumping forth. In that way, he could avoid the reach of Chaonis's fist while targeting him with his tonfas from below, aiming for his chest or lower facial area.

Chaonis felt a sharp pain shoot through his knuckles when he came in contact with the metal of the other fighter's weapon. He growled, pulling his hand back but not dropping his stance, ready to swing another punch before a second had ticked by.

It was the second jolt of pain in his hand, his other hand, that made him recoil. He had to pull his hand back, letting Raite go, and pulling his now smarting hand to him on instinct.

"You thought wrong, buddy," Chaonis countered, grinning broadly. This was actually pretty fun: he hadn't met an opponent who he matched so well against in a fight. Not that he had ever thought to look. He was supposed to just beat the bad guys, not take the time to notice their fighting style.

Seeing Raite make to attack, Chaonis readied himself to defend. Kind of. He kept one arm down and ready, while the other came up in an effort to get more height and speed with which to actually punch down at Raite's head. Sure, that meant taking a few blows himself, his one arm not enough to defend against everything, but it was still a good chance to attack.

And he would have to: his attack, though he didn't know it, was about to end itself, and dispel enough energy to knock down the structure they were fighting around.

Raite managed to get in a few blows on Chaonis's guard but his instinctual mind knew that Chaonis would be planning something else. He caught sight of Chaonis's other fist in his peripheral vision. He sensed the energy building up in that distinct area, would it be similar to the other attack that the senshi used earlier? He jumped away, since taking any blow to the head often resulted in disastrous effects such as concussions, barely doing so in time. He skidded to the side of the construction, stopping right before a pile of material.

However, he hadn't escaped unscathed. A shallow cut on the side of his head began to bleed, the red liquid dripping down his temple.

Chaonis's fist may have been aiming for Raite's head, but that wasn't where the energy dispelled. "I see your attack is a double edged sword." An ironic smile pulled at the corners of Raite's mouth, nearly a smile but not. Which was not surprising when you considered his personality. Raite looked around them, where their surroundings were in that precarious moment before tipping the scale. The metal pillars squealed - and everything would go to hell.

Raite wasn't planning to be buried in the debris, stepping backwards. "Let's continue next time." He directed towards Chaonis, with a straight stare that couldn't be said that he was running away. He was merely postponing their battle. And Chaonis would have to be either an idiot or a fool to stay there now. Without waiting for a reply, the negaverse into the shadows of the night. On the other side of the construction building was Seth Enteitta's motorbike, jumping onto it and changing back into his regular civilian's persona. Chaonis would be left with the sounds of a motorbike speeding into the distance, and the crumbling of the debris around him.

"God damn it!"

Chaonis was mad about many things. First, but not the least of his irritations, was the fact that he had missed. Well, mostly. He hadn't done the damage he had wanted, and Raite had managed to get out of the way completely. Second, was the fact that the Negaverse agent noticing that the attack backfired.

And third, of course, that the attack had decided to end abruptly, discharging the built up energy at the worst possible time, as it always did.

Chaonis was really starting to hate this attack. Strong? Yes. Useful? Sometimes. Controllable? Not as far as he knew. He needed to train more, or something, even if that was a drag. But he'd have to think about it later, since everything was going to start coming down around him pretty soon. His opponent disappeared and he was left with the trembling death trap starting to collapse around him, as if hit by an Earthquake.

"Damn it!"

He didn't even hear the motorcycle as he scrambled to get out of the crumbling construction site, managing to escape before being crushed, a cloud of dust and small debris filling the air. He coughed, looking around, but he knew he was out of luck. The Nega had gone.

Next time, Chaonis thought, as he ran away from the destroyed area and powered down. There would have to be a next time, so they could finish this fight.
