GUILD YEAR :
Since this is a Guild, we don't have an official year in which the guild takes place. An estimate would be a couple years after Harry defeated Voldemort. The post second wizarding war era. There is little threat of a new Dark Lord rising, this is an era of peace. Though I don't cosplay as a teacher from Hogwarts or anything, we can just pretend that I was a teacher at the school at the Battle of Hogwarts, and I became the Headmaster after Severus Snape died.
Again, this is a Guild, so we don't need to get too concerned about this. It's just after Voldemort's reign, a happier place, and we are just here to have fun.
BASIC GUILD RULES:
Some things we should just know not to do like common sense. No God-Modding, no obtaining awesome items like Hallows, or making Horcruxes, no time-turners, stuff like that.If you have a problem with someone, tell them. Not me. Only if they ignore you or are rude to you do you come to me, I don't want to hear about how someone is annoying you otherwise, don't take matters into your own hands. Don't make yourself better than anyone else. If you want to do something extreme, message me about it.
Also, you need to make your own character. Not pretend to be Albus Severus Potter of something. Make someone new, don't use JK Rowling's ideas, make your own!
Also, no creating forum rule is explained below.
((Keep in mind that muggles can't see Hogwarts, you can't just fly in, electronics don't work here, those basic guidelines are in the HP books and we follow them.))

GUILD SCHEDULE:
September 1st 2010- June 30th 2011 = One Hogwart's year
June 30th 2011-September 1st 2011 = Summer Holiday
It's just like a school year here, the same as in the Harry Potter books. If you want to change what year you are in, you can come and talk to me about it. But otherwise, one year in real life is one year on here, so you become a 2nd year after finishing up your first school year here. When you join, your a first year, but you move up to second year just like everyone else does at the end of the summer, regardless of if you joined in October or May.
EXAMS
Exams are going to be once every year in May. So once every year in May, all the teachers can set the exams in their classrooms.
HOLIDAYS
Christmas Holidays are from December 23rd Until January 2nd, although posting remains.
Sometimes there might be a February break for a week or something, where you can post in your summer homes for some easy RPing and creating events in your home that are just with you and your family.
Easter Holidays are from 3 days before Easter of that year, until 3 days after, giving a week of vacation, though posting remains.
***During the summer, Classes are closed, but not the guild. During the summer there will be a couple large forums including things such as:
Your summer home: Here you can cosplay with the other members about your wizarding family, or muggle family, that you stay with over the holiday.
(You'll be able to create your own little home in this subforum only, making your family and inviting friends over. No one can post in your summer home unless invited.)
Diagon Alley : Here, sometime during the summer, people will post to pick up school supplies.
the Leaky Cauldron: This is the forum to get to Diagon alley, and to get back to London.
Platform 9 3/4 : This is where we all meet on the first of September, to arrive at Hogwarts. (This will be in the seasonal sub-forum)
Diagon alley will all be in one subforum, and the summer homes in another.
The summer homes, diaries, and the profiles are the only exceptions to the 'no creating your own forum' rule. Other than these three things, the rule still stands firm.
NOTE: If you want to make your own forum, you need to run it by me, tell me where you're going to place it, and if I say yes, then in the first post of your new forum you need to write something like "Approved by Headmistress Nikolai" and it will go into a special sub-forum.
Also note, that when you come into Hogwarts, you may choose your year, but you must go in order.
Ex: You can start off as a third year, but the year after, you must be a fourth year, once you end your seventh year, you may repeat the cycle, or talk to me about where you would like to go next.
P.S. If you have more ideas for summer forums, please remind me of them as summer gets closer in the idea forum, or in a pm.
GUILD SUB-FORUMS:
This is just a really quick description of the Guild sub-forums, what they each contain, how to tell them apart.
MAIN FORUM:
Has all the main places in Hogwarts that we visit most, like the Great hall, and has topics like this that explain the guild a bit more than the homepage.
SUBFORUMS:
Classrooms:
Where everyone goes to learn from the crew, the teachers in the guild, you need to post here most often, posting in classrooms is required.
Common Rooms:
Also self-explanitory, just post here to communicate with just your house.
Quidditch:
Pretty self-explanitory, the teams are already made, when someone "graduates" we replace them, if you are in a team, you should post here too. Please note there are only two teams, since we don't have enough members for four teams, Slytherin and Hufflepuff are combined, and Gryffindor and Ravenclaw are combined.
Hogwarts clubs :
Anyone can make a club, they just need to let me know what it's going to be and I need to approve. There's a variety of different clubs, though some are not active or being used, students can still create them if they wish.
Professor's Lounge:
I thought this was a nice little idea for the teacher's office, since it is not a very well known area. Just for crew, no one else can get in.
Hogsmeade :
Also self-explanitory, this is open all year 'round, you can come in here regardless of what year you are.
Diagon Alley:
Only open in the summer, unlike Hogsmeade, but used like Hogsmeade is used. It's only open in the summer, and in August, most people need to post here to pick up school supplies.
Wizarding World:
A bit like the event forum, but it lasts a bit longer. In the summer, we have summer homes, where each guild member (or crew) creates their own life in the summer, can make their own forum and do whatever they like. It isn't a part of the diary forums, since people don't visit your dairy, and diary is everyday use.
Guild Events:
This changes a lot, usually it's just for small events, things such as a spirit week, a mystery in the guild, maybe something like the Battle of Hogwarts, events that don't last too too long.
Pensieve:
Just a nice idea for where we can keep the diaries, things like old guild memories, dates, stories, etc. These diaries are used so that each member can write about their daily life in the guild, or in real life. If you want to vent you can, but if I see someone is only posting about their daily life and complaning, I will ask them to either remove their diary, or I will do it myself, after a warning or two. No one but the creator is allowed to post in someone's diary, they are private. You may view them only.
Profiles
Just were the basic data on everyone in the guild goes. Read the sticky in this forum before making one.
OOC:
Also obvious, just post here if you have any Harry Potter questions or if you want to talk about the movies. Only come in these topics if you've finished your classroom work, though. This is also just for common guild chatter.
Old locked threads :
This is just where the used events and classrooms go, only to be viewed, I locked them all so members can't post in them, but if you can unlock them, please don't. It's just for viewing purposes, but I didn't put them in the pensieve since they would get too cluttered among the profiles.
NOTE: Most of these descriptions are already in the sub-forum, maybe in a sticky, but I just wanted to have them gathered here for new members to read or look at, to get a better idea about the guild.
