Soaring in the sky several hundred meters above the tree line her wings outstretched Midori smirked as she spotted her prey from afar with her eagle like eyes.

"Interesting location he picked for our tournament battle." She mused to herself as she reviewed the date she had on her opponent in her head.

Kuroi Kishi, Daniel's brother. Puppet user. Chunnin. "This shouldn't take long." She thought to herself with a slight smirk under her battle mask. As far as she knew his threat level to her was slight to negligible

Deciding to forgo the traditional pre battle greating rather then risk walking into a trap Midori drew one of her Shiken style Shruiken with an exploding tag for a pinion and took careful aim at the book Kuroi was reading before throwing it in such a way so that would come from behind Kuroi and land straight on the page he was reading.

Of course she could have aimed for the back of his head instead, but Kuroi wasn't the target of one of her assassination missions and she didn't want to have to kill him if she didn't have to. Her only Target was Chaos. If she could get far enough in the tournament she'd have a rare opportunity to face him under controlled circumstances. Face him...and Kill him once and for all.

Midori frowned as a group of chakra strings burst out of the field of debris that had resulted from her explosive tag going off. Considering they where usually invisible to the naked eye the fact that she could see a distinct golden green hue around them disturbed her.

Either their was something special about them, or Kuroi was letting her see them to distract her from seeing something else. In either case, it had to be taking more chakra then normal, especially considering the extreme range involved. Too far for her to possible hear what Kuroi was saying.

From the ground, she would look like nothing more then a tiny blip to the naked eye. If it wasn't for her bloodline's binocular like vision she wouldn't be able to see her quarry at all.

Acting quickly Midori tossed a handful of capsules towards the debree field and the source of the strings letting Gravity do her work for her. The largest pair of capsules would act like a small flash bang, obtenstly to clear the smoke and dust away so that she could see how Kuroi was fairing.

But that was only a cover. The noise and light released would help to hide the existence of 3 smaller capsules she had thrown alongside the larger ones which contained a potent odorless and colorless sleeping gas.

Now all she had to do was deal with the strings in order to prevent being caught by them. She'd dealt with Chakra strings before and knew they had a tensile strength comparable to steel only they couldn't be cut using conventional means.

Midori quickly formed an eagle seal. "Wind Style - Gust shield" She said calmly as a swirling mass of constantly moving wind formed a spherical barrier around her to knock the strings back and prevent them from having a still surface to latch onto.

Midori raised an eyebrow under her mask as Kuroi lept up to join her in mid air. In a way she was mildly impressed because she had never seen anyone jump like that before, but her admiration was tampered by the fact that Kuroi was plain dumb enough to engage her in a zone where she had aerial superiority, doubly so for coming within her deadliest range.

Before Kuroi could finish asking her what her move was going to me Midori trust her right arm foward, the metal tip of her Jouhyou lanced forward at lightning speeds aimed just a millimeter to the right of Kuroi's heart. The tip was surrounded with wind chakra to enhance it's cutting ability and dipped with a powerful neruo toxin, the slightest cut would result in near instantaneous temporary paralyzation.

Midori's frown deepened into a scowl as a puppet appeared in a burst of smoke and took her attack for Kuroi. It wasn't him avoiding the damage that bothered her, but rather the fact that something seemed off about the puppet itself.

Usually puppets where like any other inanimate object to her soul vision, but this one had a strange blue tinge to it. More like residue then the burning soul flames of a living person. Was this Kuroi's strongest puppet? Had he pumpted so much chakra into it over time that it had begun to resonate?

Either way she wasn't worried much. There was a reason most ninja avoided the method Kuroi was using to remain aloft. The amount of chakra consumed was impractical. Keeping a puppet out along with himself was only going to drain his stamina that much quicker. An endurance contest she could easily win if it came to that.

But why wait when the puppet was holding onto the one end of her Jouhyou making it easy for her to use the rope like weapon to transfer a seal onto him. While working on May she had experimented on ways to let something so heavy fly, such as developing an anti gravity seal. Naturally that had led to her discovering a way to intensify gravity as well.

Midori quickly Preformed a series of rapid one handed seals with her left hand then slapped it against the rope sending a surge of energy down to the other end which would manifest itself as a glowing purple marking on the puppet's hand if it made it that far and make the gravity in a radius of it's body 10 times standard once activated.

"Tch." said Midori in annoyance as the puppet fell but managed to stop itself from a disastrous crash landing. Naturally as it still held her Jouhyou it had taken the weapon with it. But luckly she had customized it with a quick release so that if cause a foe couldn't use it to reel her into close range like a fish.

As it fired some form of black energy arrows Midori simply spun around, preforming a barrel roll to dodge to the side and let the arrows pass harmlessly by, letting Kuroi waste more energy in the process even as she tossed a couple of her patten trick boomerangs at him.

Armed with a proximity trigger, they where designed to burst and release a special liquid which upon skin contact would act as a chakra excelerent making a foe burn chakra at double the normal speed but also making any jutsu they used more powerful in the meantime as a trade off.

Midori watched as Kuroi jumped backwards to avoid her boomerangs, preparing her follow up strike when she felt a slight change in the wind pressure behind her.

Years of fighting experience intuitively told her what she needed to know with out having to look back and so she acted on her instincts flying straight towards Kuroi, passing by her boomerangs on their return arc and retrieving them along the way, unworried about setting them off since the safety on them was locked to her unique chakra signature.

Just when it seemed like Midori was going to be crazy enough to try and ram into Kuroi she activated her Flying Flicker technique, her form blurring away and vanishing only for her to reappear about three feet behind Kuroi putting him between her and his puppets own energy arrows which had been following close behind her.

Midori almost burst into laughter as Kuroi had his puppet throw it's scythe at her. As a scythe user herself she knew that they weren't designed to be used as projectiles and that doing so with one was a sure sign of desperation.

In a flash of white light her own scythe appeared in her left hand and she used it to effortlessly bat the weapon flying at her aside. She had been slightly tempted to catch it and use it against Kuroi but couldn't take the chance that it was booby trapped and that he was trying to fake her out.

Using her right hand she lifted up her mask enough for her mouth to show as she breathed out a stream of red hot flames, aimed not at Kuroi himself but the platform he was standing on in order to engulf it in flames and deprive her foe a place to stand on in mid air.

The best was that since the platform was composed of air elemental chakra it would only only enhance her Fire Style: Breath of the dragon jutsu.
