Fayina yawned as she headed through the forest in a slow, steady pace. It seemed to be the only easy movement from her, the yawn. Otherwise she seemed to be moving stiffly, ears and eyes both looking forward.
Her peach fur was clean as ever, she'd found a flowing stream to play in, though it had been rather cold. Almost a stupid thing to do, play in water while it was winter. But Tao didn't seem to be considered one of the most intelligent wolves about. She could surprise some, though.

Duhkha was, for once, not exceedingly hungry. He'd managed to catch a rabbit thin from the usual winter starvation earlier, and was quite satisfied with himself. Now he allowed his crimson-furred legs to take him where they would -what destination could he have, anyway?- around the woodland. His brown coat was dusted with snow, but it always was this time of year. An ear flicked curiously towards the sound of another wolf walking, and he looked up, pink nose twitching.
"...Hello?"
"...Hello?"

Fayina kept walking a few paces, stopped. Her left ear flickered a bit, head tilting. She then eyes the snow in front of her suspiciously, as if it'd been responsible for talking to her. "No, you've been quiet for ages." She murmered, glancing up around the trees. Dunkha was rather easy to pick out from the white, though. Her peachish gaze flickered over his body quickly taking in his brown pelt. Dark tail and eats.. reddish paws. The white around his eyes, as well as the golden eyes themselves.
She took it all in, studying it and enjoying liiking at the colors. As she did with all wolves, really. Minus herself. She was all one color, it seemed. She liked the changes of color to color on other wolves, which seemed to be more common than her solid mass. "Oh. Salute." She hummed, her tone cheerful. The emotion did not show in her stance or facial area, though.

One ear went to the side in confusion, while the other remained trained on the she-wolf. She sounded happy... but didn't look it. Huh.
Blinking the thoughts away for the moment, Duhkha allowed himself to pace a step or two closer, so it would be more comfortable to talk. Not too close, though, he reminded himself. He didn't like other wolves to be very close to him at the moment (much better than he had been a month or two before, but who's keeping track?).
"...Salute." He echoed the odd greeting(or he thought it was one), having never heard it before. Eyeing her snow-free coat a moment, he spoke again. "You have.. cleaned yourself of the snow?"

She stared at him in confusion at his question. She glanced slowly up to the sky, as if checking if it was snowing or not. "I went swimming before." She stated, looking back to him. She didn't blink too often, which was a bid odd.
Though wouldn't her fur be icey if she'd been playing in water? Ah! But she'd found the little den she'd slept in the past two or three nights and had taken a nap. That had kept her warm, curled all tight.
"Is that what you mean? Actually there is snow on my feet." She raised her front paw in an easy manner, actually showing the stranger the snow that clung to the fur on her legs.

"A...Ah. I see." Strange wolf. But then, he'd been raised in the north before he'd come here, so the snow was more like a comfortable friend to him than anything. "I was curious." He glanced down when she showed him her legs, then up again.
He settled back on his haunches, as the she-wolf seemed friendly enough, if a bit strange. "I'm Duhkha."

"Duhkha" It rolled off her tongue in a most pleasent manner. Though for a moment she wondered what being dunkha ment. Oh.. wait.. name! "Fayina Tao." She shot off automatically. "Shorten it how you want." She hummed slightly, she didn't add her usual 'because it's in our nature to shorten things'
She watched him sit down, gaze flicking around before she too, sat. She pondered 'curious' a moment, thinking about what curious actually ment. She knew it's meaning. But why did one get curious?

"Fayina Tao." He echoed, again, pausing for a moment to memorize the name and the wolf, and attach it to her scent. "It's nice to meet you." He supposed that's what you were meant to say when you met someone friendly, even though it wasn't necessary. It was obvious you were pleased to meet someone who was friendly, was it not? Anyway, he was wasting thoughts on it.
"Why are you in the freelands?" A safe enough question. Everyone had a reason, after all.

Fayina never got why people said it. "What is nice about meeting a stranger?" She wasn't trying to be mean, she was just interested in why he thought it was nice.
Freelands? Her left ear flicked, for the most part she sat perfectly still. Stiffly, almost. "Well... I was swimming before." But she knew she'd said that, she supposed she'd need a better excuse. Well, wait! Why did one need a reason to be in these lands? "Mostly I'm here because this is where my paws carried me.. isn't that why you're here?" She gave a faint, flash of a smile. It was there and then it was not, almost as if she was amused.
Jestari
He shrugged at Fayina's first question, having not been quite that sure himself. "I don't know."
"... More or less." He half-answered her second question, ears flicking back against his head for a short moment. He was caught by surprise at the she-wolf's smile, but didn't comment on it. It was a relief that she didn't have some horror story or sad circumstance for coming to the freelands, as he assumed most wolves did... though meeting her, and Hati a few days ago, had convinced him that some most certainly did not.
