Shisu approached the area she was told to meet her opponent for the battle. She wasn't quite sure who her opponent was. To be honest, she hadn't heard of him. Apparently he had came over from the other village who just joined with Nameless.

Finally reaching the top of the volcano she had to climb she took a big breath of the clean air. Although the air was thin at this altitude, it was still relatively easy to breath and birds could be heard singing from down below in the forest.

The sun was beating down and Shisu was already starting to sweat the only downsider to wearing long sleeves, pants, and boots was that they were completely unrealistic in the summer. Of course, without them she would have no place to hide her ninja tools.

After catching her breath, Shisu looked around for her opponent to find him standing at the other end. Looking at his attire she was sure he was in the same sweaty situation. Instead of Shisu's grey sweater and black pants, though, he wore a giant black coat. Beneath it Shisu could see the tip of a sword sheath. Ah. Another ninja tool user perhaps, she wondered idly to herself.

"Hello. I'm Shisu Matsuchi. I assume you are my opponent. Your name would be?" she asked trying to strike up a conversation to give her more time to prepare for the fight that would be ensuing all too soon.

Shisu waited patiently as the man who she would be fighting looked up to answer. His response, though, definitely shook her. Heh... victim? Why is it always life or death? she asked herself reflecting on past battles. And why does it seem like all hooded ninjas are creeps?

Twitching at his reference to this fight just being entertainment to him, she nodded at his question, wondering what "poppet" meant. "Sure. Let the fun begin," she said, trying to sound confident and not as awkward as she felt facing such an older, taller, scarier ninja, now identified as Raistlyn Meronan. It was appearing as this fight would be very one-sided.

Shifting her weight to her left foot, Shisu bent her knees and leaned forward. One hand was placed behind her and the other in front acting like she was going to take off into a run. In all actuality, though, her right hand was hidden behind her back to be able to reach through a slit in the fabric to grasp one of her kunai. Freezing in that position, she smiled at her opponent signaling it was his move.

Shisu stood ready for his first attack. Watching closely, she shifted her position when she noted his use of jutsu. Although a strike to the ground didn't tell her much about what the jutsu was going to do, she figured it out when a wave of rock came flying at her. This is dangerous, she thought, thinking about the magma still stirring underneath them, If he tears up the entire top to the crater's cone their is no way the change in pressure will keep from waking up the mountain. I hope he knows that.

"Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu," Shisu mumbled at the last minute, quickly placing her hands out in front of her and sinking through the rocks in front of her, turning them into dirt, more or less, while passing through them. It was the same concept as sinking into the ground. Chakra was poured into the earth, softening the soil, allowing the jutsu user to pass through it.

Although hoping not to start off using jutsu, Shisu was instantly aware that her opponent must be crazy strong if they started off with such a jutsu as this.

Keeping her chakra moving through the soil as rock after rock passed around her harmlessly, she jerked her arms back once then pushed them forward forcefully while two kunai fell out of her sleeves staying attached somewhere inside her sweater. All she would have to do was quickly reach down to grab them if she had to block a blade attack.

Concentrating on her chakra flow, Shisu waited for Rai to end his jutsu and make his next move.

As she phased through the last of the rocks unharmed, Shisu let out a sigh. This isn't starting well, she thought with a sigh. Her short break was over when she saw Raistlyn suddenly appear in front of her with his leg swinging towards her upper stomach.

"Oh crap", she mumbled, flicking her wrists to flip the kunai hanging from her sleeves into her open hands. As his leg reached her, she turned her kunai horizontally in an attempt to stab into Raistlyn's leg.

If it worked, the kunai would embed just below the knee, due to his height and her lack there of, and keep his leg from moving closer by catching on his kneecap. Not only would it stop Shisu from getting hit, but there was no doubting they would leave two nasty gashes down his leg if successful.

Shisu was almost relieved when the kunai didn't carve into Raistlyn's leg. Even though he was her enemy in the fight, her hit would have torn his lateral and medial collateral ligaments which would have crippled him if he didn't get immediate medical attention. Of course she realized the kick was still coming towards her, but she knew there wasn't much to do but accept the blow now.

Jumping up a little to meet the blow softer, she took it right in the stomach. The second his foot connected she was sent flying backwards. Skidding across the ground she was thankful that nothing fell out of her pockets. As she lay on the ground she was almost numb before the pain showed up. Shisu took a second just to be able to breathe again. Shakily, she held her arms up so the kunai would slide back in her sleeves then pushed off the ground to stand up.

On her feet she assessed the damage while preparing for his next attack. Pain, trouble breathing, and dizziness. I took a blow to the stomach. Ruptured spleen, perhaps? Gotta be more careful, she told herself, Time for a different plan of attack. Reaching down, she grabbed a ribbons protruding from each boot. As she pulled up the ribbons appeared to be never-ending until two wakizashi slid out connected to them. Jerking the ribbon, Shisu caught the wakizashi that flew up towards her hands.

"Your move," she muttered barely loud enough for him to hear from his position about twenty feet away.

Shisu watched as Raistlyn formed seals. Jutsu. Jutsu. Jutsu, she told herself, making sure to remember that even if nothing happened right away he had cast a jutsu. Looking around she waited for something to happen. When seeing nothing up here she knew instantly it was either delayed or underground. Since her opponent had already used an Earth style jutsu she expected the latter to be correct. Jumping into the air towards Raistlyn, she was met by his arm. The only difference being that the arm was not connected to his body like it should be. Thinking fast, Shisu used her hooked wakizashi to deflect his hit in a way by using his arm to change directions. Hooking the wakizashi on the side of his arm, she twisted to the side as it shot past her right. Since the wakizashi didn't sink into his arm it was easy enough to deflect.

As Shisu began her descent towards Raistlyn, she raised one wakizashi above her head to slash down and kept the other at a diagonal in front of her chest to block an attack. If he didn't move she was sure to fall right on top of him and leave a nasty cut in his shoulder, tearing the rotator cuff.

As Shisu continued her fall, she frowned as Raistlyn created a giant dome out of his weird rope-thread-stuff. This fight was not giong well at all. She needed a way to deal with these black threads. Shoving her wakizashi into her boot she fell straight for the tangles of black strings. At this point, the only thing she could do was guard her protective organs and pray not to get impaled. Curling into a ball, she wrapped her arms around her body and was thankful her kunai strapped to her under her clothing would at least deflect most of the threads.

By staying in a ball she would roll right down Raistlyn's thread-shield if he didn't move. This however, was not what she expected. She figured as soon as she touched the threads they would wrap her up in an attempt to immobilize her. This however, was part of what she was counting on. It would all depend on luck, though.
