The afternoon was slightly chilly, er, chillier than usual. It was the first wisps of Fall on the breeze and the leaves seemed to just start to being to turn. It was, well, generally pleasant to the feel. Not to hot, not to cold, and Rainfall relished the sensation of the wind slightly ruffling his fur. He was perched on an old, fallen log. The sound of the insects diligently working away beneath the bark fascinated him. Things that were so small, working so hard, reshaping the world one scrape at a time. And their lives were so easily snuffed out with a flick of a paw.
He sat and considered this quietly on his perch, enjoying the fresh air outside of the den. It was rather pleasant. There hardly seemed to be a thing amiss and the silence was a rare opportunity to consider many things, the insects being only one. For instance, the birds. How did they get up in the air like that? Yes, the had wings... But how did it work? He didn't want to just know why, he wanted to know how as well. These two and many other things swirled in his curious, young mind as he watched a termite surface and wriggle across the cracks in the log.
It was too quiet. The others should be along any moment, really. He knew enough to expect that. He examined the termite for a moment longer, studying it's odd, insect body and it's many legs. It was so alien, really...
And then he snuffed it out with a claw and glanced up and about, looking for one of his brothers or his sister.

The little storm pelted pup trapsed over the tall grasses of the earth. She enjoyed this new cold, and she was excited to see her first winter Snow. Daddy said it was a very special thing to see, and that it was just like water! Only.. it wasnt. She was curious to see what he meant by that. Her bright green eyes glittered.. a gift from her father. Her father.. she was proud of him. He was strong, brave old wolf, and she looked up to him a great deal.
She passed the little stream that was right outside the lands of Agua. She had been told not to enter those lands without mother or father present. She always wondered why mother wouldnt go back.. but father, he would take them there to see Alpha Shezaam every now and again. She leapt over the rocks, trying to cross the stream, where she could smell the scent of her brother on the air. She loved her family, regardless of the many personalities they seemed to have amongst each other. Her paw missed a rock, and she went sliding into the cold water with an Eep. She hated cold water. Maybe it was good to drink, but it certainly was no good for swimming.
Leaping to the shore, she shook herself off. The tornadoes adorning her pelt looking as if they were truly twisting. A scowl set on her face, she looked at her brother who was stomping on something.
"What're you doin' anyway?"

His ears, which were very puppish in fashion and appeared slightly too big for his head, swiveled at the sounds of a very clumsy approach. The splash of water and the cold squeak of dismay were enough to tell him that it was his sister who was crossing the little stream, not Volt or Noah. He gave a silent groan, already missing the quiet of an afternoon alone, yet was slightly cheered that she was coming. It was an odd blend of emotion, really, one that could probably only be deciphered and understood by siblings.
"Not much, Thunder~" He wiped his paw against the bark and tilted his head so that his silvery gaze rested on her tornado marked pelt. The two were quite the contrast to each other, and yet similarities were all too easy to spot. A light grin slid across his maw as he hopped off the log and plodded towards her, his blue and orange tail shifting in a slight wag.
"Gone for a swim?" He chuckled lightly at her damp appearance.

She watched him wipe off his paw, cocking her head to get a good look at what he had been doing. Why would he wipe off his paw? She narrowed an eyebrow, and was going to investigate until he came closer to her. She shook her head to get the thought out and then looked back at him. He had mothers silvery gaze. It could be eerie, if she hadnt know big brother Torrent.. He was truly an eerie looking wolf, and she was used to him by now. Even a few of her cousins had those eyes. She supposed the eyes ran in the family. She was perfectly happy with her jade ones though.
"No!" She said, but then blushed with a groan. It wasnt her fault that rock had been so slippery! She lifted a paw up to her nose to soothe the fur that seemed to be out of place. Lowering it, she turned to itch the biting of a flea along her rump before looking back at her brother.
"The water is really cold right now. Daddy says that it will be our first winter soon!" She said with excitement.

He seemed more or less unconcerned. He rather liked his odd eyes, though her jade ones were lovely. Generally, their family didn't strike him as strange... It was all he knew, and though he grumbled at the thought of wiggling back into the den or meeting with the relatives, he truly did love each of them, despite quirks. And if she inquired about the termite, well. He would just say that it stung him. But he did seem to light up as his sister mentioned their first winter. He was excited. Very much so. He wanted to see the snow that fell from the sky, like water but not. There was also something else... The turning of the leaves! His tail wagging picked up the pace and he dropped to a small play bow.
"Yeah! We'll have our winter... And I want to see the leaves of the trees turn red and orange. Why do they do that, turn colors I mean. I want to know. I think it's starting a bit already, see?" He tilted his dark, little nose to the canopy above.

While his mind wondered how things worked, she just was excited for the changes to happen. She had never wondered why the leaves turned the way they did. She had just never questioned it, she naturally just accepted it as the only way the world would work. She tilted her head, eyes following his as she stared at the leaves overhead. True, they were orange, brown, red, all shades of lovely. She had thought about it not long before smiling and looking back at him.
"Orange is just a good color." She nodded, as if that was the reason behind it all. After all, look at their family. Other than mother, they all were orange, and they even blended with the lands these days! She had found a pile of leaves left among the earth at the base of a tree just the other day. It had been so fun to jump among them. Of course, she smelled like the musk of a leaf for days.

"Orange is a fantastic color~" He was every bit as biased as his sister, fond of the bright color that marked all of their pelts in some way or another. Yes, it was a fantastic color. And seeing it in the sky, against the reds and the browns... It was beautiful. Absolutely stunning to the stubby, inexperienced youngster.
"So... What you doing out here, Thunder?" His darkly tipped ears swiveled towards his sister, who finally was shedding the scent of the dried, dying leaves, and cracked a soft grin. His little tail shifted in a wag and he offered his sister a little play bow, eager to enjoy the cool weather and colorful atmosphere until the sharpness of winter rolled in and life would be pure white, yet harsher to survive in.
