Ever since I discovered Goota online by accident this last summer I have been trying to find it. The problem is, I live in the Midwest. I have searched in the Mitsuwa Marketplace in Arlington Heights as it had been reported Goota was available there. Unfortunately it was not. Does anyone know of anyplace where Goota ramen is available in the Midwest or online that can ship to the Midwest? I really would like to try it.

I.... couldn't find it... gonk gonk gonk

That's never happened to me before. gonk All I found were some that you had to do some really complicated stuff to get imported. Maybe someone in Japan now will mail them to you for a PayPal transfer.

It's not that fantastic as with mostly all the instant ramen bowls in the super markets... I'd recommend going to a real ramen shop, but yeah I know that'd be no where in Midwest, maybe even in America ( a good real Japanese ramen shop I mean).

Why go to such lengths for a bowl of ramen? o_O Did you hear something about Goota specifically?

Why not? It's something to do. I've spent money on shittier stuff just for the hell of it. gonk

From what I have gathered, Goota is a subdivision of Nissin. It is a ramen that has liquid soud, powdered soup, noodles and toppings, ie: real eggs, real pork, etc.

Goota is not the only brand that makes it this way, but it is one that I heard was available over here.

And as to Ramen shops in or around Chicago, I have found maybe 3. 2 of which are actually out in Arlington Heights. The other is on Belmont, off the Red Line stop to the west, a few blocks past the Japanese Culture Center.

Well, men do love their ramen! And I guess it's international as well, men craving ramen.. sweatdrop

I remember my husband would try to diet and then he'd come home from work and guiltily say "I had ramen................". LOL poor thing, men just can't resist a good ramen shop, I don't know what's so alluring about it! Does it give men stamina? There is a lot of "stamina ramen" specialties out there.

I love cha-shuu ramen but that's about it, I can never finish it and I can't inhale the noodles like Japanese can! That's just amazing.

lol, the one time i tried REAL ramen at a japanese food place... i totally couldn't finish it either. it was a lot bigger than i thought it was going to be. everyone else who went with me got cute little tempura sets... and i decided to get ramen... and they plop this gigantic bowl in front of me and i'm like eek it WAS really good though...

Some grocery stores where I live have it. But I am far from the Midwest...I live in New York. THe Wegman's and WalMart SuperCenter's around here sell "Japanese Style Ramen"
