Nicknames: Nothing that you would want to tell her face to face about...

Faction/Race Ghost / Subclass:Banshee
In a nut shell: Take half a cup of ignorance, one slab of determination, 3 table spoons of teenage frustration, a pinch of hormones and sprinkle with panic attacks and you have the recipe equation of Sarias. Quick to judge and even quicker to panic Sarias is a studious ghost, a teachers pet and closet geek rolled into one. To be viewed from afar is to see a ghost caught up in her own world, she spends her time either studying or ignoring people, neither acknowledging familiar faces or talking to strangers. She doesn't make friends fast and she doesn't want too, is this out of spite? habit? 50/50? Either way she isn't opening up any time soon, unless of course you dangle a passport her way?
[Group discomfort - In a past life, days, years if not centuries ago something happened to the fleshy counterpart of Sarias something that is able to strike fear into her un-beating heart and cause mass panic through her ectoplasm. But curse her if she can remember what the heck it was! All she knows is she can’t stand to be surrounded by people. Groups larger that 8 or 10 people she starts to panic, heading up to a group larger than 15 or more and she looses all her normal reserved calm and runs for the Halloween hills! To this she can seem very unstable, lashing out at friends and strangers alike when put under pressure. She will do anything to get away, and go through anyone, students, teachers; all can have the un-pleasure of her icy tendrils whipping about their faces as she fly’s past.
Lone Wolf - Due to her inability to get on with large groups Sarias mainly keeps herself to herself. Gaining one friend could led them to introduce another, that leads to a further person, then one more, and soon that can mean only one thing. Sleepovers! Parties! People! The mere thought causes her to vomit the useless food she’s made to eat at the high school! So she puts on a front, if no one likes her, that means no friends! She can learn in peace without the stress of being part of a group, be it the popular kids, geeks, or even the smelly monsters (who seem to have a huge following!) Sure it’s a lonely un-existence but to accomplish her goal of getting a passport she is willing to do anything
Snobbish/Ignorant: Part 1;The Actor - To believe you need to be hated to survive high school is not a thought that runs through every students mind. But for Sarias it comes easy, years of being purposely alone has left her with zero social skills. She comes across as rude, snobbish and ignorant, judging people on stereotypes and comments, unable to separate what she hears down the scare vine and reads up in the *Nightly Haunt newspaper, to the actual facts! Not everyone is who they seem, and as one who lives and breathes this 'labelled curse*' she should know better.
Part 2: The b***h - But to say she is a product of something else is misleading, she can and is an absolute b!tch at times and has a very broad view of people. Being on her own so much has given her a complex of those around her. She sees the other students larking about, not taking things seriously and this annoys her, she is here for a reason and while trying her best, others just seem to sail through the classes (she wouldn't know though, she never asks!) With that in mind she keeps a 'mental' log of those she feels haven't been pulling their weight, and she will judge you, cast you aside and won't look back. 1st impression are the key to this girl, even though her own have a lot to be desired...]
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
[Forced] The main reason Sarias attends the Academy is due to her Coven's say so. To be a banshee you need to be trained and once upon a time this was done in the sanctuary of the Coven's home but due to the laws and rules that have to be abided by, all Halloween residents need a passport before they can descend on the fleshy world. So not only does Sarias have to learn her way through the Banshee ranks *see Past life post, but she needs to graduate before she can even show off all her hard work. This girl has a lot to (un)-live up too and a heck of a lot of pressure on those tangible shoulders. And no-one has ever asked, does she even want to do it? Well, does she even have a choice?
[Personal] Even as an un-dead being the thought of vanishing completely (like no after-after life & believe me, it can happen!) still scares those who lack a heart beat and Saias is no different. As a ghost Sarias feeds of FEAR, it sustains her, keeps her from vanishing altogether (although some days she likes to think she has!) Sure she can gather the FEAR she needs for now, but eventually she'll need more. She's a un-dead growing girl you know, and little snacks won't be able to keep her growth spurts satisfied. She wants to leave the hustle and bustle of the Halloween world and find a nice haunt to spend her days in, gathering the FEAR she needs to live out the rest of eternity and of course to do that, she needs a passport, or a well connected friend....and one of those defiantly won't be happening any time soon...
FEAR:
Sarias FEAR is a mixture of her wisps (her smoke tendrils that fall from her skirt) and temperature. As ghost are known for causing a room to go ice cold Sarias adapts this into her fear, letting her wisps spread out into a closed area causing the temperature to drop dramatically. Also her wisps can cause respiratory problems in the sense that once breathed in it can be as if breathing in smoke, not of course resulting in the effects of smoke damage, but the illusion of not being able to breath causing panic within the person.
Natural Ability:
Ghost: intangibility and invisibility
Banshee: Wail - A banshee can emit a chilling cold scream that seem to scare their opponents.
Physical Description:Eye Colour: Red Hair Colour/Style: Its is a deep blue, very long & curly/bed head style, reaching down past her hips. Skin Colour: Gray, very translucent. Body Build: Sarias is extremely thin, anorexic, skin and bones, call it what you will but if this girl were alive, she'd be dead. Around 5ft 7inchs Saria's weighs nothing in her spectral form but around 5 stone (70Lb) in her 'solid' form. Clothing Style/Colours: She wears a corset with belts on and has a long tattered grey skirt with blue wisps. This skirt is really the 'living' part of her body, it will curl and float away in wisps. It has a tendency to react to her 'emotions' becoming deflated or will flare out depending on her moods. The corset and belt have to stay but her top half is up for debate!! She has been seen with just the corset or her skirt as a dress and it coming out over the top. It can also be a shirt (see below refs) or changed into a tank top like so: [X: Doll DressUp Game]She wears a Red and black striped bow with a skull in the middle, she wears it on either side! She also has the same coloured tights on! Nice and stripy! She also wears Victoria inspired boots:  Her Jewellery will consist of chains, in bracelets or hanging off her skirt. Please feel free to add anything extra though! If she were to speak to you they would only just open slight, their true nature is for her too allow her to open her mouth to an extreme angle, so the bellowing wail that banshee are named for to be released to its true potential. Likes: Solidarity, Reading, Singing, Mediation
Dislikes: Large groups, pressure (peer and exams), strong winds, solid food.
Favourite Haunts Between the floorboards of old attics, and the cellars of abandoned homes.
Odour Like old dusty books left out in the rain.
Hobbies: Singing: There is an awful lot of time to use up in the afterlife and while it isn’t been spent at the Academy, haunting or knee deep in coven history Sarias likes to sing. Not very original for a trainee banshee but she opts to use her new found spectral voice as a tool like any other, compliments of her banshee lungs. Where as her species normally use their voices for calling the dead, its eerie sound and haunting vibratos are a gift bestow onto this sub group via ritual and spells. Sarias, though, chooses to sing with a voice steeped in Irish/Celtic twangs, calming, alluring and beautiful to hear. If she ever was once alive there would be little question that she lived her life as a siren.
Her talent though is rarely heard as she sings only to herself and only when she is alone, its power allowing her to meditate and bring tranquil calm over her fragile mind. If she senses anyone nearby she will stop and the thought of continuing could take days, if not weeks to return to her. Beings though have had the pleasure of listening to her soothing notes, but only out of great distress to the Banshee. Only when she is not careful, distracted by some other major event, this is when she will be least likely to sense other beings around, allowing them to listen in on her voice. Although it holds no real power Sarias voice isn’t merely for show, it aids her in times of stress and panic allowing her to enter a trance state where she can calm her nerves. This can have the same effect on other beings, again it holds no real power, only gentle words and soothing passages which may aid students to calm, although to gain an audience with Sarias will be quite a feat and will require you to be very high on her friends list.
Longer Bio: Sarias is a ghost that keeps to herself, she takes the extreme nature of territory her kind fixate on to, well, the extreme. There is no love loss for her hatred/personal fear of large group choosing to sit as far away from the others in class as 'ghostly' possible, using her FEAR ability in a fight to freeze and separate her self from her opponent and devil forbid if you invade her personal space, the term 'mighty pissed off' lacks the true nature of how this ghost will scream her dislike down your ears (if you have them that is!)
She comes across as rude, ignorant, snobbish, everything you don't want in a BFF! She feels no kinship to her kind, she has no warmth to offer monsters or advice to tell the un-dead, she can just about stomach demons, but her hatred for the Reaper species is something dear to her cold dead heart having an inkling they have something to do with her untimely death and her un-restful after life.
But to say this is her only personality would be wrong. Sarias can be friendly in her own way, she can even push to being kind and thoughtful. But to gain these benefits you have to be on a one to one with her, which often leads to some creepy alone time with the banshee, not the best way to introduce yourself to someone by dragging them off into an abandoned alleyway for a chat.
To be noticed by the ghost you need to be able to offer something she can use, her aim is to pass with flying colours and gain her passport. She will be more attracted to the studious amongst the students, leaving the layabout to their own demise and although she will come across as 'using' at first, she will consider you an alley in her dream and as time passes she will confide in you and consider you a friend, maybe even sharing her dream of a nice abandoned church with moor lands to spend the rest of her undead days in relative peace...that's if you want to join her that is?
Sarias seeks to fulfil her nature, her need for substance, of FEAR and the only way to do that is to gain a passport to the fleshy world. In this sense she is a keen student, opting to study and learn, to listen rather than to talk, and to fight when she can to gain the skills needed for her eventual graduation. She is intelligent, a 'perfect' student for the teachers, ever studying, always on time for class, albeit a little annoying to accommodate her request of being as far away from others as possible, but something the teachers may be willing to put up with if she continues to bring in the grades that she does. She is the worst for the underachieving class mates as she will try to beat others to the punch for answering questions and gaining the upper hand, anything to get her goal that little bit closer. But start to turn up the heat with exams, peer pressure, and social gatherings, and well, you have one unstable ghost on your hands, push her too far and have the full weight of her wrath brought down over your heads. This ghost has a lot to learn with chilling out.
Weapon Upgrade and Disassemble.
Here is a more detailed view of Sarais Fear, the pros, cons and possible upgrades.
Upgrade: As Sarias develops in her FEAR her smoke tendrils will become more solid and strong, one day having the strength to move things and even being able to throw (light) objects and beings about. Her main use will be to wrap her smoke wisps around her victim and injecting them with a icy cold blast which causes them to ‘temporary’ freeze with fear.
Cons: 1.At the very early stages of Fear her ability to drop the temperature will only come into effect within a closed off area. Open ground fights will greatly decrease Sarias ‘hit’ chances and be little more than a breeze. The same goes with the respiratory harming effects of her wisps, causing little more than a coughing fit if the wisps are not concentrated enough upon one area. Air or Fire attacks used by other students will cause Sarias own attacks to become null void as air attacks can blow her smoke tendrils away and fire attacks can cause the air sustaining the smoke to be used up.
2. Due to her tendrils being apart of her ectoplasm there is only so long that Sarias can keep up the ‘onslaught’ of her FEAR, the action is extremely draining in her early stages. If she concentrates on temperature alone she will have little power left to move her tendrils about, resulting in her victim quickly escaping her clutches. The same goes for the other way round, if she concentrates on attacking her opponent with strength using her tendrils as fists she will have to forfeit her ability to freeze anything. The more she uses her tendrils the faster her energy reserves are used up so she often needs to be on her toes with battle plans. Does she go for the quick hit, using force before it runs out? Or the slow freeze, making her enemy lose the ability to move, allowing for a quick escape.
Natural Ability;
As a ghost Sarias has the ability to walk through walls, disappear and reappear into thin air and on a good day be able to possess small inanimate objects. The lack of choice when it comes to the tangible rule at school is not her first choice opting to spend as much time invisible as she can, these rules tend to be broken when it all gets a bit too much and she will try to escape school grounds to have the ghost persona of 'me' time.
She also she has the wonderful ability of her scream, the gift of all her subspecies, the hauntingly, mind numbing intoxicating wail that is her birth right. Known to paralyse people with fear banshees will scream out the names of the people who have been cursed - normally caused by those annoying reaper types trying out their stupid spells!
Sarias personally, chooses to hide her talents and would take the 'silent but deadly' route instead, opting to use her fear though her wisps then use her enchanting lung power to scare the fear from her victims. Although don't get her wrong, peeve her off and she is more than happy to show you what her back molars look like.
Past Life; A New Future
Sarais knows very little about her past life, who she was, what she did, her favourite foods, past times, lovers, all forgotten in a haze of smoke and mirrors. She is even unsure how she came to this place. Had she always been here? Or was her fleshy counterpart snatched cruelly away from her? All she remembers is falling through unseen doors upon the land which would be known as Halloween Town. With no time to dwell on such matters even with time now being at her mercy she was quickly collected by two ethereal forms covered by long robes and capes, their faces hidden, their motives unknown, but each one calling out a name, a wail that echoed through Sarias eardrums in such a manner that her forced journey from A to B clawed at her soul and stripped her down with each syllable. And the name that echoed the loudest amongst them was a “Mary O’Brien”.
During her time with the robed beings, now known to her as Banshees, she soon discovered that she wasn’t merely at the wrong place at the wrong time, but chosen by forces unknown as a suitor, a possible member of their coven, the aptly named, Forsaken Nightingales. Made up of a sub-species of ghosts, the Banshee’s were a messenger race and that message wielded the words of death. Sarias had been snatched before other forces laid claim to the fresh meat, dwindling numbers had called for desperate measures as more ghosts fell prey to exorcisms and spells. The Banshees were powerful spirits, but a dying breed none the less. So she had been chosen (not a willing precipitant mind you!), as a trainee for a ‘rank’ of Banshee found within the Coven, the manifestation of the spring equinox, the Maiden. Only a handful were ever chosen to be complete maidens, a prestigious title, even fewer grew to the next rank, the Mother and it had been hundreds if not thousands of years since the last Crone was overthrown, the leaders of these beings. Now whittled away and separated from the pack in search of recruits two Banshee's, both Mother ranks, they herded this unconventional Coven dearly seeking a maiden to boost their numbers and Sarias had been 'lucky' enough to be singled out.
Tied by long forgotten words and powerful spells the banshees brought both protection and curse to honoured families, often high status beings who had the power and the will to control people, even to ask protection from death itself. But of course there will always be a price to pay and a trick to be dealt and Death would not be controlled by mere mortals and so a deal was made. Death would not strike a member of a family protected, unharmed in battle, immune to plagues, all life would be spared that carried certain family crests, that is, until the Banshee’s - deaths messengers, called out for them. Whispered along the wind, shouted across the moorlands the names of those with no more sand in the timer would be sang out, the alluring tones capturing the chosen, leading them to their deaths. On rare occasions when a true tragedy were to strike, a Banshee could be spotted in the rivers washing the clothes of those soon to be departed, the waters running red with blood yet to be spilled.
Sarias would be trained in the rules and rituals of her tribe, the magic, art, history and culture; she would learn the ways of her new found heritage working her way up the ranks of the coven until she would one day give protection to the lives chosen for her and eventually singing them to sleep for deaths final blow.
Of course all this would happen in the sanctuary of the Banshee temples if it were not for the mayhem that the Halloween officials had deemed to be out of control. Now due to the new procedures all Banshees have to have passports, no exceptions. So even with the population decreasing the rules have to be obeyed, the names still have to be called, the souls collected from these still existing families, the ritual has to continue. "Ita id has compareo, tamquam id voluntas sequor".
FAQ
Q: Why do you say Sarias became a banshee and wasn’t born one?
Unlike demons and monsters that are natural born that way (unless created by spells etc) I see the un-dead, reapers, ghost (and sometimes monsters!) being made or created to be what they are. The dead are risen, the Reapers must train (they are often just humans) and ghost (again a living thing/human) need to have died to become what they are now. There is no say so as to what someone's spirit will become once dead, it may float into the light, or disappear all together, who gets to choose if you are the solitary figure in a grave yard or a raving poltergeist destroying homes?
I have decided to take the route that ghosts can choose, or at least be trained in different type of ‘sub-ghost’. That they start off as a hollow empty spirit and then are infused with knowledge, training, or some other spectral and magical force to get them to become apart of their sub group. So for this, I feel Sarias was more of a banshee type (plus i love them) she is going to be trained in the art of her new found history, as well as studying to become a better ghost, for the glorious goal of fear!
Q: You mention she is 'unstable' and has 'panic attacks' But also quite a good student? How does that work?
As a ghost,which is her 'natural' state, her mind is clear, she can think, she doesnt feel rushed, and her thoughts come one at a time. She can study, take in what she is being told and her intelligence comes through when she is in this form. Take that away from her though, force her to be in a physical from which is now 'unnatural' to her and she gets a little mixed up. Her brain power is all there, but her thoughts may be more jumbled, and this leads to her stressing out, eventually leading to panic attacks. Another main reason for her wanting to be alone, with too many voices floating about she cant concentrate on her own and again this can lead to her storming off with no explanation, she just has to leave or she will explode! and nobody wants that.
Who knows if she will get over this, i am myself unsure how long Sarias has been a ghost, but she is still in some ways getting use to her new body, even if she knows no different. I would imagine as she grows 'older' and learns more skills she will combat these panic attacks...or they could get much worse?

Hello there!
I think Sarias is an interesting character! However, if she's a lone wolf, and she can just pass through walls, it kind of cuts down on the interactions she can have with characters. Is there anything about her that would make people want to talk to her? Is she attracted to anything about society that would make her come out of her room, thereby opening up possibilities for social interactions? Aside from classes, I mean.

I like her. :U Two little questions--is her FEAR going to have any particular effects later on? Like...will she be able to change the temperature of her wisps or something like that. Just curious. And does she do anything in particular to the people that she feels aren't pulling their weight, or does she leave them alone for the most part?

I notice you say "what little mind she has". Is this a reference to something? I haven't seen anything else in your profile in regards to this other than the (she's dead and therefore not that bright). I don't know if being undead/ghost would make her dumb - we have some smart ghosts and undead as faculty after all. That sorta sounds like a scape-goat. Also you go on to say she's intelligent and quick in class - you can't have your cake and eat it too. She has to be either witless or witty, but not both.
If she is snobbish and ignorant why would she follow rules? Is there something she hopes to accomplish and that's why she obeys? Or is it merely just clouded obedience since she has nothing better to do? Does she fear authority and what they can do to her, or is she just a big brown-noser??
What would happen if she met someone persistent who refused to leave her alone? Or better yet, someone downright cruel who had no problems hurting her despite her being female? ( NOOO I AM NOT REFERENCING JUDE, DO NOT ASSUME > W >;;;; )

Her FEAR, while interesting, sounds impractical for battle purposes. It's good that it can make people cough, but is there anything else it can do? It almost sounds more like a natural ability than anything else, since her skirt is more or less part of her?

@Zee: I completely agree with you, something that I only realised myself when critiquing other quests, if she hates everyone, who will i have to RP with? I do want to expand on her 'hate' for social interactions, maybe i shall make it more that she hates lots of people, maybe tie in into how she died to be the cause of this hate (by a large group of people or something) and thusly she will befriend people but will have 'panic attacks' when there is more than say 10 people in a room at one time, which will make class rooms, activities and school outings all that more stressful for her! I shall work on this in great depth!
@Zactura: I want her wisps to be able to throw people about eventually, like they are a living thing of their own which she will eventually be able to control. I must admit the temperature aspect intrigues me, maybe she can wrap her wisps around people and turn them cold? Again this is something i shall work on, but thank you for the idea!
and I doubt she would go too out of her way to pull someone up about being a lazy bum, because that would mean talking to people D: ! But again i guess if that is going to be a major part of her personality maybe she should be doing something? Maybe the inner b***h is revealed and she does nasty things (all secretly) to get said layabout kicked out of school?? Again thank you for the ideas, i shall have to think upon this greatly! ]

"Little mind she has": Haha this is my poor attempt for being humorous, i was thinking along the lines that she is dead, and as a ghost she has no physical brain/"mind" to talk off. I wasn't thinking of it in the unintelligent factor as she is quite studious herself but that she needs to concentrate on things as i can see ghosts (from my own point of view) getting distracted easily, maybe even being a little ditzy? and she needs all the brain power she can get her hands on to make it through school! I will remove that since I can see why 1: It isn't funny XD and 2: how it can be misread! Thank you
Snobbish/Ignorant: Again i shall work on this in detail, her main goal in (un)life is for FEAR, if she sees people larking about, or not bothering, this will get her angry and she will consider you/said character beneath her as you/character have the nerve to just be lazy where she is really trying, and it is a struggle for her (i can imagine her being like this towards students who sail through tasks and battles, she will be extremely jealous but will find that character more appealing to be around). I guess she has a deep hate for layabouts in general, but due to her 'I am just going to ignore until you go away' attitude she comes across as snobbish, so she is perceived to be like this, maybe more than she actually is? If that makes sense XD;;
But she will have a very ignorant/tunnel vision mind set, once a bum, always a bum in her mind. Very rare second chances are given out, like i stated above 1st impression are key to getting off on the right foot with Sarias, but if you mess that up she will hold it against you.
Teachers: And i think because the teachers are her key towards getting a passport she is 30% respectful of their status, 20% fear of their power and 50% a brown-noser, she will defiantly be the one staying after class to help tidy up and brining expensive end of term presents for all her teachers.
Not leaving her alone: Will result in her having a panic/stress attack. With what Zee said i am going to work on her 'i hate everyone' and make it more of a 'i hate big groups' thing, but i am sure the same reaction can be brought on with someone who pesters her. I don't think she can handle this very well and will end up screaming, which is not just bad news for the person nearest, but her screams will penetrate most of the school leaving many people deaf and disorientated, which could result in a stern telling off from her teachers, which means she would hate the original person for making her stressed even more and you have a bona fide enemy <3

Okay first off I have to say that I loooooooove Banshee's, probably my most favorite female creature ever, no really. Second of all, I REALLY like Sarias; she's quirky, she's bitchy, she's her own ghost and dammit all, don't get in her way.
That said, there's a lot in her personality that could be expanded upon. For instance, I find it very interesting that she relies on rumors and word of mouth, as well as stereotypes, to judge people, but I'm curious to know her opinions of each particular group; does she think the Demons are too high and mighty and that the Monsters are too dumb to do much for themselves? What about other Ghosts, even? She seems a bit cynical in terms of her presence in Halloween, even if she is working hard to make an unlife for herself in her Banshee Coven.
She has a tendency to run away from large groups; does this affect her with her Coven? Say, has the thought ever struck her of just running away from them if she didn't like what they were forcing her to do (in this case, attend Amityville and work her non-corporeal butt off to get higher in rank)?
And what, on the off chance, if she DID make a friend? As her current personality stands I can only see her taking conversations that are somewhat forced, lead by the other party, but say someone took the time to at least say "hi" or give a comment once a day, would she keep brushing them off or eventually reply and then settle into a state of repetition and normalcy? Would she then consider them a friend or not even realize that there was the possibility of friendship?
I like her FEAR, actually; it's got good weaknesses and it's definitely her own thing, not something other Banshee's have by a long shot. Does it tire her out to use her FEAR, since it is a part of her body? Does she feel any ill effects if she uses it too much?
