Heyyy. I'm into a lot of Indie or otherwise lo-fi music, though really the only genres I don't care for are country, rap, and Christian rock. As of now I'm in love with The Decemberists, Okkervil River, and Elliott Smith. I was really into +/- until like last week and now I'm bored with everything in my library.
I think I might go on a music diet for a while to build up passion for old favourites.
Anyway, so what genres are you into?

I'm addicted to podcasts. I personally don't really care for "music" in the sense of listening to the same songs over and over and over and over and over and over again. That's why I personally dislike most radio stations, as they take a fairly good (but sometimes rather formulaic) song and play it to death. However, most spoken word broadcasts are new, they provide meaningful discussion, and I generally learn something after listening to it. I'm addicted to Loveline, which I'm happy to see actually has an RSS podcasting feed now, but I generally just listen to NPR or something similar.
But, if you're talking about music specifically, I have a range of preferences, from punk to techno to classical to rap. Hell, even throw a little country, an onion, and a shoelace and you have hobo chili.

I don't like radio, but I do enjoy playing songs to death.
My music taste includes most indie rock, a lot of mellow stuff, not much loud music and DDR songs. Trance is good.

The new Disturbed CD is my best friend right now. Yes. I like Disturbed, Metallica, the Offspring, Hoobastank, Nickleback, AC/DC, Pink Floyd....um, I think I will just say Rock. It makes things easy.
Oh, and I like the soundtrack from Rent. ninja

I like rock and right now, I'm running on a steady diet of System of a Down. I also like a couple of soundtracks such as The nightmare Before Christmas and The Phantom of the Opera. I also like 80's music, mostly the poppy rock. Uh, so yeah. Oh and when I say rock, I mean from the 70s or so to now, and in all different sub-generas.

Soleq, I like podcasts, too. I only subscribe to The Weekly Geek, though. It's actually very informative and moderately interesting. In recent times I've become friends with the host, Chris. So, good times.

A lot of those groups are in the same nameless genre. Queen and Styx are irreverisibly bound by the songs Mr. Roboto and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Ah, to the populace. But I first heard Killer Queen and Lady. When I was a little kid, I would ride in the passenger seat in my dad's toyota with the window rolled down, we'd listen to the radio and tapes. I'll never forget how badly I wanted to learn to drive, so I could "drive my chevy to the levee" and meet up with my friends who would be boozing it up with wiskey. Thanks Don. And I came out just fine <3

I don't know, Bohemian Rhapsody isn't my favorite Queen song at all. In fact, when I think of Queen, that's about the 5th song I think of.
I forgot to add some old farts in there too: Elton John, Johnny Cash (before he became popular again), and Bobby Darrin. It's kind of hard to pick specific people when you have something like over 12GB of songs to choose from.

I like just about everything, especially country. Not much into rap, though. And if a song has no point whatsoever, I normally don't listen to it. I write song lyrics, so I like songs that have some pretty strong lyrics in them.

I honestly like all kinds of music. I've recently (IE last night) discovered the joy in Irish Drinking songs, so I've been listening to The Pogues most of the day. I like everything from Rock to Country, Metal to Classical, Japanese Rap to Gregorian Chanting.... Like I said, everything XD

Touching on the actual poll question, I think my avatar's theme song would be one of the following: Ride of the Valkries, Carmina Burana, or Shaft. Yeah, definitely Shaft.
