I'd REALLY love to see an Appalachian mountain folk metal band. That would REALLY make my day. Or like an Americana folk metal band.

Example of Appalachian folk music:

I just found them by typing in "Banjo Metal" into google. I was expecting to sift through tons of bands in order to find one that I felt fit but suprisingly they were the first one I came upon.

I'm actually really enjoying their songs. I kind of want their album, they are really catchy.

Hmmm, that's pretty cool. Something about them kinda reminds me of Cruachan for some reason. I think it's the vocals.

From Belgium, no less. I wonder if they're expats?

You guys would be surprised how popular country/western/american folk is in Europe.

No Kidding. I saw Dead Western Live and he was doing one little dinky show in my hometown, then going to Germany for like a month and a half. His reception there was down right ridiculous.

If any of you ever get the chance to see him live, do it. It's mind blowingly creepy and awkward. Ya'll love it.

Didn't a lot of old American blues guys have kind of career revivals in the 60s touring Europe too?

I'd be interested in more of this "banjo metal" if any more is available. Its not often that american folk music is turned into metal (and if it is, its not popular). It shows promise.

I couldn't find anymore.

But I did find these, which I enjoy a lot.

No, seriously. I had no idea there was a market for that outside of the U.S.
