Sedi Waya was finding now that he was getting bigger, he had more free time than he used to. It was probably because nobody needed to keep a close eye on him now, he decided, and so it was easier to be off by yourself. He didn't mind being alone, it was preferable in some cases. His family wasn't quite what it should have been, he had always known that and it had always bothered him.. though it only showed in his lack of humor.

He was out laying in the sunshine, looking down at his paws, seemingly lost in thought. He had just recently gotten another tattoo added, around the time it was decided he and his siblings were old enough to take part in the hunt. Most of his new tattoos were harder for him to see himself, they were over his shoulders and his back. But he was looking at his paw, the first one he remembered getting (or was that the ones on his face? But he couldn't see those either so they didn't count).

"Hmm."

Kawani Waya was happily humming along. She knew that she should be lingering with some of the other females of the clan, but she just didn't have it in her to linger right now. She wanted to be with her family more. As they grew up, she realized that there was a chance she might see them less and less. Especially if...if her brothers found someone in a different clan. Then she could see them even less.

Oh! But then, there was one right now! It was strange, being in such a large clan where almost everyone was a blood relative. Or, it felt that way. But she still liked her siblings best, and made her way over to bug her brother, Sedi.

"Hey!"

Sedi didn't hear Kawani coming, he was too busy staring down at his paw and thinking to himself. While he always seemed to be getting new tattoos, and the space was getting smaller and smaller.. there was still quite a bit that was unmarked. And wondering about that was as good as wondering about the future, and he wasn't sure how to start with that.

As his eyes moved over to his bare paw, he heard Kawani calling out to him and immediately looked up. He hadn't expected to see anybody out here but he wasn't actively avoiding anybody so he wasn't too surprised.

"Kawani," he greeted her, "What are you doing out here?"

She loped over to him, shrinking the distance until she was almost on top of him. Which would be ok, since they were siblings, but decided to take a step back and smile down at him, since he was laying down. She decided to do the same, flopping down on the ground unceremoniously. It wasn't very lady like, but then she didn't care too much.

"You admiring the tattoos you can see?" she asked with a smirk. She couldn't see all of her's, either, but it was nice talking to the few other members here or there about what their tattoos meant, literally or figuratively. Kawani only hoped that she could gain more as she grew, and real good ones at that. She'd be a great huntress, in honor of her family.

Her tail twitched as she brought her mind back to the present. "Erm, yeah."

Sedi blinked and glanced back at his paws once his sister joined him and rightly observed what he had been doing. He looked back up and gave her a rare smile.

"I was," he said, glancing down to the tattoos on her shoulders, "Couldn't think of much else to do out here, guess I didn't plan far enough ahead what I was going to do once I got all this way."

He truthfully hadn't expected to do much but he hadn't expected to need to justify it, either.

She shifted over and nudged his shoulder. He seemed down...well, he was usually serious, sure, but he seemed a little worse today. Did Mother do something again? Or was Dad just extra sad today too? Regrettably, Kawani hadn't bothered her mother or her father much in the past couple days. She saw them, but...maybe she should try to talk with them more. Especially her Mom, so she wouldn't get too far off in her little world.

"Yeah, no set hunts to go out on right now," she added on, though perhaps he had wanted to spend a little time alone. Oops. "Anything you wanna talk about?"

She paused...and poked at a couple of his tattoos. She couldn't resist. Had a small, playful streak of her mother's in her.

"Mhmm."

Maybe he would have been better off distracted by a hunt, he could have tried harder but where he was much younger than a lot of the hunters, he probably couldn't have gotten anything going. Unless he gathered up his sisters and tried or something.

"Not really," he said, coming back out of his thoughts, leaning back a bit when she poked at him, "You came up to me, do you have anything you want to talk about?"

She was feeling fine until he poked her, if only mentally. She paused, growing quiet and still. An internal debate was making her wonder if she should really bring it up. They weren't that old yet, not enough to worry about it, but...Kawani never knew.

"Are....are you going to leave some day?" she asked, meaning changing clans. It was possible, no, probably. So much of the Wolf was part of their blood, and if Sedi found someone...Kawani would miss him terribly.

It was something he had thought about so he knew exactly what she was talking about but he didn't have a fast answer. It seemed likely, if he found a mate, that he would change clans. And he didn't like to admit it but he almost looked forward to it. He didn't like seeing his parents, the older he got the more and less he understood about either of them and their relationship.

"I don't know, probably," he said, "Are you going to make some lion leave his clan some day?"

Only he and Atlo would leave, but all the girls would be here. If they all found someone from another clan, that'd be four more lions in the Wolf Clan. But then, there were plenty of single lions in the clan, too. Not everybody married.

She bowed her head back, her ears plastered to her skull. Why did he have to say it like that? She felt hurt, but also a little angry. "You....I..." Kawani grew silent, unable to develop a comeback. Or any sort of reply that wasn't just mumbling and pieces of words.

"I only would if you left," she finally answered. She didn't look at him. She didn't want to. Fine, if he was going to be such...such a butthead! It made her ache for her mother, or at least her ideal of one. Dad would probably just ruffle her head and walk off. One day he might tell her about his past life, but otherwise he was just the rock that kept the family going. Sort of.

"It's not me I'd be worried about introducing your boyfriend to," he said, and though he was serious he couldn't help but smile a little. She didn't like his answer, he wasn't terribly surprised.. it was hard to get things right sometimes. Or.. most of the time.

"Has anybody else been talking about this?"

Were his sisters all thinking about it or was it just Kawani? If it was just Kawani.. why was she asking him about it? He obviously wasn't very good at this.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 23, 2010 4:16 pm

Kawani flushed. "I-I have no boyfriend!" This was true, but the idea of something...like that couldn't not make her girlish heart flutter. It would be nice, sure, but....she knew her head was full of things that just couldn't possibly be, so she didn't really...want to even try. Really.

Feeling quite flushed, especially since he actually gave a little smirk, it took her a bit to compose herself again. Now feeling completely embarrassed, she didn't quite know what to say.

"Well....no," she confessed. "Just...me."

Sedi waited for Kawani to regain composure before saying anything else but his small smile lingered. He wasn't easy to amuse but if anybody could make him happy it would be one of his siblings, most often his sisters. He was still puzzled by her desire to confide these thoughts in him, but if she was worried about them leaving.. it was just him and Atlo who might leave.

"Not now, then," he said and then hesitated before continuing, "And what do you think about all of this kind of stuff?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 23, 2010 5:12 pm

She wasn't really sure what was going through his mind, but she didn't want to ask. He obviously didn't mind, though. She paused...how had the conversation turned this way? Hmm, probably because of her.

"Think of...of what?" She was feeling a little weird just thinking about it. Was she on the same wavelength as him? "Of....love stuff?"

"Yes," he nodded, looking at her with curiosity. Their parents were not a very good example and he himself hadn't looked far past them, grandma and grandpa were there but they had never seemed worth careful examination, though perhaps they ought to have where it just seemed so normal. If Kawani was thinking about these kinds of things enough to venture to talk about it, did she feel differently than him?
