User ImageNothing felt nearly as good as water running over the body. Not a warm bed, or good food, or even the feel of another person's touch, felt the same as the complete embrace of water as it pour over the flesh. If given the chance she would never leave. Dimas gave a warm gasp as she placed a hand on the cold wall of the shower and allowed her long duel multi-colored hair to fall around her face. It was like heaven. The water as well as darkness made the glowing marks on her body glow brighter and more intense, as well as gave her a soft coat of slime to her skin. It always put her in the best of moods whether it was hot, cold, salty, or fresh water. The water was the biggest comfort the woman could find. She leaned forward to lay her head against the cold tie wall as the water cascaded down her back.

Before the government had gotten a hold of Dimas she had gone to the beach almost daily to try and fight her phobia of the water. She had been terrified of deep or wild waters. Anything deeper or wider than a kid's pool or a bath tub made her very nervous. She had envied all those who splashed and played about the waves and the surfers who looked so cool slicing thew the water as if it were nothing. Even when they wiped out it was enjoyable to see. So when she got a letter in the mail telling her of a new program to help cure fears she replied and went to a program to try and cure this fear of water. Her red and black eyes looked down at her crimson and blood colored skin and the pink and red glowing marks all over her. Had she known they would have done something like this she most likely would still have done it. After all now her fear was cured for the most part. In fact she craved to be near or in the water to feel it's embrace and yet she still have never gone near deep water. The showers at The Asylum were her only refuge. Still her treatment could have been a worse than it was.

Reluctantly, her soft coated hand moved to turn off the water. She hated leaving the showers, it was about the only water they could 'play' in here at The Asylum. But she had already gotten in trouble for staying in the showers for too long before.

Turning the water off she walked slowly to grab her towel and wiped up the water and coating before she pulled on a pair of loose fitting Pajama bottoms and loose sleep wear tank top. She liked the loose clothing though the fact that her body, even after she dried it, still produced a bit of slime the tank top held tightly around her large chest in places as well as the pants would stick every now and then to her shapely hips and thighs.

A shower in the day and a shower at night brought this jellyfish female delight. She slid a hand through her wet hair as she headed to the door with her towel wrapped around her day time clothes as she walled into the hall.

User ImageAt the same time as Dimas was finishing up, another water-dwelling creature was loitering in the showers down the hall. Seth stood under the flow of water with his chin tilted back and his eyes closed, the coolness of it slowly returning his body temperature to normal after his previously hot shower. The only part of him that moved were the eight tentacles on his head; they writhed and curled around themselves as though they had minds of their own and the exposure to water had them beside themselves with glee. Seth knew he should get out of the shower soon but it was like trying to pull oneself out of a warm bed in the morning: just a few more minutes...

What felt like seconds but was really several minutes later, he finally began to extract himself from the shower with deep reluctance, each movement slow and stalling as he shut the water off and walked over to his clothes and towel. He toweled down his hair and tentacles just enough so that they wouldn't be dripping on the floor, then dried himself a bit more thoroughly. He pulled on his shorts first, then his shirt which, though already rather form-fitting, clung to his skin from the dampness in the air. When done, he draped his towel over his forearm and exited into the hallway.

Ever since he was a small child, Seth had loved the water. What they had done to him, he thought, eyes trained on the floor as he made his way in the direction of his room, had only made that love more potent. He wondered not for the first time if he quite minded.

It didn't take him very long to become so lost in thought over the question that he became unaware of everything around him. Even his walking was on autopilot, feet directing themselves on the well-known path from showers to his room. Needless to say, despite her gentle glow he was completely unaware of Dimas's presence - and, as such, was also completely unaware of the fact that unless one of them changed paths, he would walk right into her.

Dimas was lost in her own thoughts as she walked. The fact that she seemed to require the presence of water more did not really help her fear of it. She felt a strange longing to be emerged in it feeling it every where but that very thought shook her body with fear. SHe could not trace when she had gotten this fear. There was no traumatic event, no cruel joke, just fear and a repressed longing.

She had made her way into the hall and heard the creak of another door, but in this place one never really thought much on the sounds. This hole place seemed to breath on its own so there was no reason to jump at every sound. But unlike the creak of the door. The sudden solid warm form that pressed and slammed into her was impossible to ignore. She gave a gasp as she felt the solid form give a bit, signifying that it was a person she had bumped into. Her towel and clothes had dropped to the floor and she had to take a step back so she would not fall. Dark black and red eyes looked up to a very handsome blue eyed blond haired man. "I....am sorry." her soft voice offered up as she ducked down to gather up her things. "I was not....watching where I was going..."

The collision caught Seth off-guard. His tentacles, which had wound themselves into a relaxed tangle at the nape of his neck, reacted on reflex before he had a chance to reorient himself. All eight of them fanned out around his head almost like headless, pale yellow snakes, poised to assist in his defense if whatever had bumped into him proved to be a threat. It wasn't until a moment after that that he realized what he had bumped into had been another person, and that this person had no intention of engaging him in any sort of confrontation whatsoever.

"Oh, um," Seth mumbled, a faint blush creeping up to the tops of his cheekbones. His tentacles swiftly retreated once more to the back of his neck, twisting tightly around each other. "No, that was my fault. Sorry." He knelt down at the same time as Dimas did, helping her to collect the fallen fabrics from the floor, too flustered to register her appearance, which was - even for the Asylum - rather unusual.

"Here you go," he said. There was a sheepish smile on his lips as he offered her what he had picked up.

Dimas took the clothes he had picked up. Her long thick black hair had fallen down over her face though she could see his hair was moving on its own. She watched as it twisted and coiled at his neck, and every so slightly she could see what looked to be small little suckers along one side of the strands. That was something she had not seen before except at an aquarium.

"Oh...thank you. I am not used to someone being at the showers this late a night....I hope I did not hurt you." She felt heat rise to her cheeks as she stood up slowly. His smile was a bit odd, though it could have been from the fact that he had handed her back her towel and bra. She tried to give him a smile back though from the glow and angel it had a ghostly look to it. "I take it...your a patient as well." She said as she lifted her left hand up to push back her hair wail her right hand pulled her clothes and towel tighter to her full chest.

It wasn't until Dimas took her clothes back that Seth noticed that one of them had been her bra; when he saw that, his blush deepened even further and he swiftly averted his eyes as he stood up. The damage had been done, however, and it took everything he had to turn his eyes from the wall to her face and keep them there. In an attempt to do so, he finally started to focus on what she looked like.

Two swift blinks and the slowing of his coiling tentacles were the only outward signs of his surprise - how could he have not noticed what she looked like before? It wasn't as though her dark red skin was subtle, nor were the glowing marks adorning them, or the tendril-like sections of her hair, which were also red and glowing.

Seth stared at her for several seconds after she spoke as his brain worked to get back to real time. He cleared his throat once before speaking. "No, I'm fine." There was a brief pause as he wondered what would make her ask that kind of question. Was she dangerous? Then, his attention flicked to the second thing she said. As well... so she was one too. Not that he was surprised; she, as he assumed was also true of himself, definitely looked it.

"I am," he confirmed. "Have you been here long? I haven't seen you around before." He hadn't necessarily been there for long himself, but he liked to observe, and he was sure he would have recognized her if he had seen her.

Dimas watched his sudden and swift look at the wall. She could not understand the suddenness of his action until she looked down at her hands and saw the large laced bra on the top of the pile. She gave a nod as she stood up only to find his eyes were now on her. It was as if he was forcing himself to look at her face. She gave a small sigh and her hand moved up to slide along her hair and push it back carefully. The red tendril was thick but moved easily, "Is there something wrong with my face?" Her dark eyes turned to look down as he looked over her face. The marks on her cheeks darkened to a deeper red.

She shook her head, "Not long at all. A few weeks or so at the most. Though I have a room to myself. I take it you have been here for a wail?" She normally kept herself hidden as best she could. She was not fully ashamed of herself, but unlike the man before her she could not easily hide her...changes. She shifted her weight slowly, "You shower at night as well? For them?" She asked as she motioned towards her neck to suggest his tentacles.

Seth was truly startled when the girl across from him asked if there was anything wrong with her face. "No, not at all," he said hastily, realizing that his previous hesitance had probably lead her to that conclusion. "I was just trying to see if I recognized you." It was a partial truth, but he felt guilty for staring anyway. Not exactly looking normal himself, he knew how it felt to be stared at like that and should have known better. He leaped immediately at the chance to change the focus of the conversation to something else.

"I haven't been here that long either," he admitted with a faint smile. "But I have a pretty good memory. Even if I don't know everyone around here, I can usually recognize people's faces. I didn't recognize you, so I got curious." When she gestured towards his tentacles, he paused once again, the smile fading - but more out of thought than because he was uncomfortable. "Yeah, I suppose I do. I don't like to be away from the water for long, you know? I guess it was a side effect from... them." He laughed once, the sound amused but lined with something dark.

Suddenly Seth realized something. His expression brightened, pupil-less eyes widening a fraction. "Oh, that's right. We've been talking, and I haven't... I'm Seth." He offered out a hand to her, his previous smile returning to his face with added warmth.

Dimas did not look at hs face as he looked over hers. She was sure he was thankful he was not as bad as she was. At least he was mostly normal.

Though she did look up as he spoke his name. Yes he did look like a Seth. "What a nice name. My name is Dimas Kaimana. I am...pleased to meet you. And yes...I find myself always needing the water near me as well. Nothing else feels quite as good as it does flowing over the body huh?" she tried go give him a normal smile but it still game off as a bit spooky.

"You are the first pacient to talk to me. Sorry again for bumping into you." she had to admit often enough faces recently blurred together. Though his was easy enough to remember. He look like surfer boys back home.

Seth's smile widened a bit when Dimas introduced herself, not realizing until their eyes met that she had been avoiding his gaze for quite a bit of the conversation. He wondered briefly if she was shy. "Thanks, but I think yours is nicer. Pleasure's mine, Dimas." If her smile phased him, he didn't show it - his own expression didn't waver in the least.

It did, however, visibly surprise him when she spoke again. "The first? Really?" He didn't know why he was so taken off-guard; she must not have been there as long as he had thought, even though she had already said that she hadn't. He at least would have thought some sort of conversation would have happened by now. "You don't have to apologize - I really wasn't looking where I was going either. Besides, at least this way we had a chance to talk to each other, right?" Seth meant what he said. He didn't talk to many people, so meeting someone he had something in common with was a pleasant surprise.

Dimas' dark eyes moved over Seth's wide smile. He seemed way to friendly to be a patient here. But then again she was not a bad person herself. She wondered then, if the only reasons he was here was because of the government giving him tentacles.

She felt the dark color of her cheeks darken and the faint lightly along her face do like wise as she blushed, "Yes it is nice to be able to talk to someone...and it seems we have some similarities." She lowered her head a bit her hair falling over her eyes for a moment before she looked up, "I guess we can continue our conversation maybe somewhere else...so we are not just standing in the hall to the bathrooms?" She offered. If he had said he would rather just part ways then because it was late she would not have argued with him.

At the suggestion to continue talking somewhere else Seth laughed once, a soft sound. It hadn't yet occurred to him that they had been standing in the middle of the hallway during their entire conversation, as he had been so distracted by meeting Dimas. He had met and seen many others in the Asylum that had inhuman traits, but she was the first that shared his ties to the water, and it interested him. Despite having only met her for a short period of time he felt the strangely acute desire to talk to and get to know her.

"I wouldn't mind that," he said, pushing his blonde bangs from his eyes, "if you wanted to, I mean." He wondered where they should go. His room? Hers? Those might be the better choices, as it never was a good idea to be wandering around a place like this late at night.

Dimas could feel his brilliant sky blue eyes on her even when she was not looking at him. She had often enough been stared at before she wond up in this place. But never so much since her change. Though she did not feel the glares of disgust or fear from him he was still staring at her. She shifted her hair to allow it to cover her face more.

"Yes we could talk more if you would like too. I am sure we could find a close room. Mine is down a few halls." she lifted a hand too push back one side of hair and tendrils to turn her head and motion the way. "Or if you want we could go to your room or a common room. I am sure you know where one is." He was definently interesting. He looked like so many of the people she would watch out in the waves or at one of her parents' events. "Your not from the pacific coasts are you?"

Seth thought about the various suggestions for talking places for a moment. He would rather not go to a common room - he didn't like the idea that people could be listening in on their conversation, even if they weren't talking about anything particularly important. Her room? He paled a little at the thought. Going to a girls' room the first time meeting her didn't seem right to him. There were other places they could go, but... "How about we go to my room?" he offered finally. "It's not very far away from here either. If that's okay with you."

At her question, he brightened a little bit. "I am, actually. How could you tell?" He laughed a little bit, as though he could guess her answer. Even he knew it wouldn't be hard to guess what kind of place he was from by looking at him.

Dimas thought how dangerous it could be going to a person she had just met's room but there was really no where else they could go. And though she wanted to ask she was sure 'does your room and a lock on it' could be taken wrong so she did not ask. "Um...well your room is fine." Beter she knew where his room was that him knowing where her lockless room was. After all he seemed like a nice guy who would not do anything bad but he might get a bit lonely one night and barge in.

She could see that the question about where he was from seemed to lighten the mood and she smiled softly, "Well you look like the stereotypical surfer boy. Do you surf?"
