The large male stalked the antelope, eyes watching carefully. He was hungry, or his belly told him he was. He would have preferred to eat the food the others brought in to the pride. He wasnt one to hunt for himself. He sneered a bit, shaking his head with a groan. He was utterly quiet, almost graceful for as large and mean as he was.
His feet carried him across the earth like a cloud, but suddenly, the antelope perked its head, alerting the herd of anothers presence.

He cursed to himself and let out a growl. He knew it wasnt him who had started the creatures in the tall savannah grass. Someone else was out here.. Had to be.
He lifted his head, no longer needing to hide within the sunlight. Looking out into the grass, he began seeking out the one he could thank for scaring off his dinner.

Clermeilli-Pie dragged the carcass along and didn't care that she scared a herd away as she did so. She had managed to take down a water buffalo. That was an achievement to be proud of! Sick, yes, but still he'd put up quite a fight. She just wanted to get it under her rock ledge so she could eat with something solid at her back in case of thieves. Those were entirely too common.

She had just started in on her meal when she saw a pair of eyes watching her. Wonderful, unwanted company. Clermeilli-Pie stepped out in front of her kill and crouched defensively. She did not want trouble but... wait it was a single male lion... This could end well, maybe. She just kept staring at him, wondering if he would back down or if he needed help.

Ohohoho. So this was a female who had scared his herd away. He narrowed his eyes. That would save her life, he guessed.. So long as she gave him anything he wanted. He'd be nice for now, even if his belly was still yelling at the fact he had missed his meal for the second time today.

His ruby eyes glittered with interest as he stepped closer. He wasnt interested in her meal, so much as her, though he would most definitely take it had she given him even a half a chance. It was a large animal and it would be hard to steal. He would have to share it with her if she allowed.

"You scared off my herd." He said, though his angry voice was hidden by the charm he was so easy at producing. She was pretty, and pretty females could go far with him.. at least.. they could survive an encounter with him easier.

When he stepped forward, she stepped back against her kill. She had not been prepared for how dark and menacing he looked. He gave her a VERY bad feeling, but when he spoke it was such a smooth sound. Should she be worried? Probably, but take what is given for one to work with.

"I did?" She kept her voice even and simply curious with some effort. "I am sorry... I have more than I can eat here... perhaps I can make it up to you?" And have you NOT eat me, was the thought that slipped through her head as she spoke. He was just darn creepy!

She gave him a sweeping glance. It was the eyes. It had to be those ruby eyes that made him so unsettling. She had never seen a lion so darkly colored with such bright glittering eyes. If she had imagined a demon, he would probably be about the right description for it!

Oh good, she was already rather afraid of him. That was really good. Normally he could mask the fact that he was a bit devious, but she was smarter than alot of the females he ran across it seemed.

"Its fine, I shall take you up on your offer however." He responded, his belly grumbling as if to also accept her offer. He stepped closer, and sat a few feet from her and the kill. His tail flicked back and forth as he eyed her.

"You are a very pretty girl to be all alone out here." He said, looking around him, then blinking and looking at her dead in the eyes. He let out a little grin. Sure he was mean, but.. as of now he was playing. It was a cat and mouse game. Of course if she gave him what he wanted..She'd be fine.

Which.. he wanted more than her meal had to offer.

He seemed happy about something, and something told Clermeilli-Pie it was not the offered food he was so happy about. At least, he took the offering and did not harm her. That was what she was worried about. She knew her limits. She was a hunter, not a fighter. He certainly was likely to have her at a disadvantage when it came to fighting anyway given his gender vs. hers.

She was grateful in a way for the politeness in his answers. At the same time, it was part of what made her wary of him. There was just something off about him. Call her paranoid, but she suspected that she even smelled something off about him! But there was not much she could do about it.

She sat down and continued eating on one end of the water buffalo as he ate at the other. "I am travelling." She did not offer any more information than that. That look had said a bit more than she liked. Wonderful. Well if that was his intent, what did it matter? She had never before, but it certainly was not going to help matters for her to bring THAT up.

He tore into the other end of the buffalo, scarfing down a few chunks of meat before licking his maw and looking back up at her. He wasnt finished, but he sure as hell would keep up this charade. Maybe, like he desired, he'd get more out of it.

"You're sitting so far away. Are you that afraid of me?" He asked, a purr like quality to his voice. He was a fighter, and a dangerous one. He had been trained with demons, and in the back of his head his demon chuckled at the thought of having this female. Roths mission in life was to sire as many cubs as he could. Little heirs to his legacy. He scooted a bit closer to her, and wagged his eyebrow.

"Travelling, eh? Im more of a pride guy myself." Though he didnt let on to which kind of pride he actually belonged in.

"So tell me, do you have a male? Someone to protect you?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 27, 2010 10:25 pm

Clermeilli-Pie watched him get closer and heaved a heavy sigh. "I have a strong feeling that I have every right to be very afraid of you." She was just going to have to give in, let him do what he wanted and hope she could go on her way afterwards, was she? Oh well, such was life. She hoped this would not result in cubs if that was what he wanted out of her.

"Yes, I am travelling. I hope to find my pride." Make it sound like she has something, but not close enough to be threatening to him. She doubted him feeling threatened would work to her advantage. He seemed more likely to just kill her and run if he thought his life was in peril.

She ate a bit more and watched the male out of the corner of her eye for the most part. She was getting very sick of the sweet act. Most of that was the fact that she could not do anything to get out of the ill effects to come. "No, and no. Cut the crap, you and I both know you are not as well intentioned as you would have me believe."

"You, my dear, are very. Very smart." He purred, eyes narrowing a little with a mischevious grin. He liked a smart female, though sometimes, they were too smart for their own damned good. He chuckled deep in his throat.

"Im no where near kind. In fact.." He might as well tell her about himself now right? He knew he'd get what he wanted, if he didnt, he'd kill her..Or at least scare her into thinking so. Either way he'd get what he wanted.

"Im a demon. I am only out here, hunting, and searching for something I can claim as mine for the day." He grinned, winking at her.

Clermeilli-Pie stopped eating and focused completely on the male. At least he was being honest. Though, that really was not comforting with the kind of information he was being honest about. She growls softly in frustration and lays down on the ground.

"Something you can claim for the day? And that happens to be me?" She tucks her front paws under herself and watches him. "Well, demon, can I at least get a name out of you or is that not allowed?" She would move on come nightfall and never see him again most likely, so why did it matter about the name? For some reason it did matter to her.

He snorted, rolling his eyes though he decided to give her his name. What did it matter if she knew or not? He figured that was okay so far as he was concerned.

"My name is Roth, and Im glad that you are smart enough to know my games. I would hate to think you dumb, and.. I hate to run into dumb lionesses."
He growled, thinking of all the females he was tired of meeting. Least if she gave him cubs, they'd be intelligent, ready to learn, willing to learn.. That was all he cared about.

PostPosted: Wed Sep 29, 2010 10:59 pm

"Roth." Clermeilli-Pie tosses the name around in her head. It was so simple she should have no problem remembering it. And that was what she would keep in her mind as a token of this meeting. She did not have to like the situation to wish to remember it. "I am Clermeilli-Pie. A name for a name is only fair."

Some things were best remembered as lessons. "If I were stupid I would likely have crossed one of the prides by now and been killed." She simply keeps laying there, as if she has not a care in the world. "Survival is a challenge best not left to chance in my experience."

"If I might have one request... Let us at least be civil about this if possible." Clermeilli-Pie would give him what he wanted without a fight, but she really did not want to get tossed around for it. She was not a coward; she just saw no point in fighting when she would not win.

"That is fair." He nodded, and cocked his head watching her. She had no air of caution. As if she was perfectly content being around him. It was strange, even Tuc hadnt been the type to want him around, and she had been a demon herself. He raised an eyebrow, curious as to what this ones story was. He wouldnt ask however, he truly didnt want to know the story of anyone really.. Or he wasnt willing to ask.

"I can do things very civil. So long as im listened to. I dont like when im talked back to, and so youve been warned." He nodded, but stood, approaching her to place a paw against her, and nudge her forward.

"We could find a nice den if you like." He grinned.

Clermeilli-Pie noted the cocked head as the male watched her. She cocked her head right back at him and watched him with curiosity. He was something different in this world that what she had experienced so far. And she was pleasantly surprised by his willingness to go along with what she had asked. If he had not been a demon, she might have thought about staying around him.

"I am willing to listen... but I reserve the right to ask questions." When he approached and nudged her she nuzzled his cheek. The longer she was around him the less afraid of him she really was. He was proving himself not only to actually be dangerous, but also to be sensible. This was something she could understand. And the more she understood something, the less fear it produced even if it still called for safety measures.

"I do not know this area, so I would not know where to look for a den... but if you would not mind, a den would be nice." She stands and looks into those rather disturbing red eyes. It was hard to hold that gaze, but she did so, just not in a challenging manner. She lowered her eyes after a moment and purred as she nuzzled his cheek again. "It is very polite of you to offer."

He was unsure how to take the nuzzles from the female. He had never been the type to care for nuzzling, and so he ignored it. He looked back at her, his red gaze unwavering. He was in the mood for what he wanted now, and dilly dallying would do no one anygood.

"Then lets go." He said, motioning the direction for her to walk, and he would follow a step behind her. That way if she tried to run he could take her down. Safety first.

"We shall see how willing you can be."
