Arianna wanted a child of her own but she could not have one of her own at least not related to her by blood. She had daughters by proxy of her lover but to have one with her lover was impossible as far as she knew for many different reasons that she could name and not just because they were the same gender! All that aside she simply wanted a child of her own. Boy or girl it did not matter to Arianna she would love it just the same and she was certain that her beloved Claudine would grow to love the child too! Arianna had felt so optimistic while she wandered into the establishment; she was smiling happily at the entertaining little thoughts in her head. Her little 'family' would grow and there would be one more for her to love and care for.
She quietly wandered forward looking for someone, anyone to attend to her needs. It was said that here she could get a child to adopt. She folded her hands in front of herself as she gazed around, "Hello?"

At the front desk, she was greeted by a young woman with messy brown hair and large black glasses. This woman was small, and cute, with freckles and a small upturned nose, rather childlike herself, save the labcoat.
Looking up from her paperwork, Apoxi blinked, "Oh, hello there. May I help you?" she inquired politely.

Arianna blinked as the woman addressed her and tilted her head a bit though she smiled a bit seeming at ease because of the other woman's unthreatening appearance. She smoothed down a bit of her dress as she moved a bit closer to the desk, "Y...Yes, I was wondering if I may adopt a child from here? I saw...some flyers that said there were some children that needed a home to be gotten from here...?"
Or perhaps it was a flyer from some place else? Arianna had quite forgotten by now but either way she found her way here and she wouldn't back out. She quietly ignored the nervousness within her as she awaited a response.

Apoxi smiled brightly. "Certainly! We have a bunch of little ones who could use homes! Any gender in particular you'd like?" she asked cheerily, stretching a bit in her seat.

The woman paused thoughtfully at the question. While raising a little boy would have its charm she just wasn't equipped to deal with them for various reasons and of course there was her Beloved to consider and while her Lover wouldn't hurt the child if it was a boy there would certainly be a bit of a gap between the two considering how males were often viewed by the woman she loved. She wanted her family to be happy and to have as few bumps in the road as possible.
Nothing was ever perfect but that didn't mean she should make a bad decision for herself or her family. After a moment she said, "I'd like to adopt a little girl if possible. I think a girl would be more comfortable in my home than a small boy," Arianna said with a small laugh. A boy would drown in a household full of girls and women, she had no doubt - it often had affects on her brother and he was much older than her!

Apoxi nodded, "Understandable. Let's see if we can find you a little girl who needs a home. What kind of home do you have?" she asked, leading Arianna back towards the hall where the children were kept.

Arianna followed quietly with her hand folded in front of herself. She blinked at the question and seemed to fall into furthered silence before she answered, "We are a very loving family and we have a large household. Most of the people in my family are female excluding my brother," she explained quietly, "I move a lot between my brother's home and my Beloved's she has nothing but daughters because she abhors males," Arianna shrugged a bit, "I have no such prejudices but I do not want a child feeling less loved just because of their gender."
She wasn't one hundred percent certain about how Claudine would act but Arianna wasn't going to risk hurting a child to see.

Apoxi laughed, "That isn't what I meant - where do you live? What sort of environment? Different kids do better in different habitats." she explained. "Certain children need to be kept in wide open areas and some can stay wherever."

Arianna felt foolish and blushed a bit; she gave a small giggle, "Oh right, yes. The homes where she will be staying in are both quite large and roomy. Lots of yard to play in and such we have...a wide mixture of children so we have to accommodate them so that they will be happy," the young woman explained. Arianna smiled a little, "it will be no trouble to adjust to the special needs of a child," she added.

The dark haired woman led her past a room with a large window on it - all of them had this one housed a little girl with purple skin and white hair. "This little cutie's available. She's from pretty good donors and is rather amiable. Just don't let her into the flowerbed too much."

Arianna paused as she stared into the room with the small girl inside it and smiled softly. Yes this was the one she had no doubt about it, something about the large soulful eyes and the hair just drew her in. The wings were also rather pretty and the skin just made her ever more unique to the young woman. She listened to Apoxi as she noted that the child was available for adoption but to not let her into the flowerbed too often, "She eats plants? Well I'll do my best...I would love to adopt her," she said with a tone of finality to it.
At this point no other child would do. The fact that the small girl had a odd penchant for eating plantlife didn't seem to detract from the sudden want to adopt her.

"Well, go ahead in and talk to her then. Just don't promise things you don't intend to keep." Apoxi told her, as was policy, opening the doors.

Arianna smiled at Apoxi and nodded lightly with a soft polite "Of course," passing her lips before she wandered past the other woman and into the room where the child's attention soon directed toward her.
The child's single visible eye widened upon seeing the woman and she couldn't help but notice the scent of flowers that came from her vicinity. It was like the woman spent all day in a garden somewhere! The child stood and wandered forward moving to hug Arianna about the legs, "You!" she chimed in happiness.
This was an odd moment for Arianna - mostly because she hadn't expected to be hugged right from the start of the meeting she leaned and gently pet the girl's white hair trying to get a better look at her in general, "Me?"
"Yisis!" The child chimed happily, "you smells like the flowers," she pointed out. The girl had no real concept of perfumes. "I lovelovelove fllowers!" Arianna leaned and picked her up and found the girl happily wrapping her chubby arms about her neck while she lifted a bit of the child's hair to get a better look at her other eye and only seeing love, adoration, and an immense amount of trust. It had won the woman's heart for sure. "Yes, of course I'll take you home...Do you have a name?"
Pause and her face fell for a moment before she shook her head. The small girl almost seemed anxious as if this would change the woman's mind.
"...I'll call you Kiri. Do you like that name?"
Relief flooded the small girl as she nodded excitedly. It was small and simple she was able to easily remember to call herself Kiri.
Arianna smiled lightly as she wandered out of the room, "I...don't need to meet any other children, none other will do. I shall adopt her," she informed once back out in the hallway still carrying the newly named Kiri. Arianna had said she would adopt her prior but this seemed more final - having the child in her arms and having interacted with her the young woman was more certain.

Apoxi grinned and held out the already started paperwork. "You two seemed to be getting on fine so I took the liberty of fetching these. Just fill it out and we should be good to go."

She carefully balanced the child in her arms being mindful of the fragile looking wings as she reached out and accepted the paperwork with a small smile, "No problem," Arianna said in response. She was completely willing to do any paperwork that was needed so she could take the little darling home and then show her to her beloved Claudine.
It wouldn't take long for the paperwork to be filled out despite the curious and wiggling child that she held in her arms. The woman seemed to have some experienced with small children. Arianna smiled quietly as she signed the last paper, "All is in order, I hope."
