Onibi looked around the winding halls again. Moving to one of the many sections, he paused as he once again passed dorm #214. He was stalling.
The masque was well on it's way to starting now, already howls and shrieks echoed the nearly empty monster dorms. His mouth twisted at that, and turned back to dorm he was so steadfastly attempting to will into oblivion.
He hadn't thought this through, Onibi realised. The two personal cards held in his hand now bent and frayed at the edges from nervous fiddling.
He had meant to return the card gripped in his hand. To simply pin it back to board and hope none would be the wiser. Instead, he managed to walk away with not only the first, but a second as well. Yes, this had definitely been a terrible idea.
The few of the more unsociable monsters that still roamed the halls rather than the masque were beginning to give him odd looks that were steadfastly ignored.
As another elated howl rose from the festivals direction (or what he assumed to be) Onibi steeled himself and, with reluctance, knocked lightly on the door. He supposed it wouldn't be fair, at this point, to stand the other student up. And if the knock was too light, well it's not like he could be blamed for the others poor hearing.
Besides, he was sure to be turned down anyway, what with the whole demon thing and -- oh! What a wonderful thought! Yes, he'd definitely be rejected. Reassured now, his hesitation seemed almost pathetic.

Raziel lounged carelessly in his room, lightly tossing one of his wrist cuffs up in the air and catching it before it fell to the floor. He was actually thinking about the Masque that had begun not long ago. With a bit of reluctance he had put a card up on the personals board, and it had gone missing. Raziel came to two conclusions; either someone liked him and wanted him for themselves, or somebody really hated him and now knew where his room was. Crap.
If, with any luck, it happened to be the first of the two options, Raz was a tiny bit intrigued. He hadn't met anybody, so nobody knew anything about him really. If it was a girl that came knocking on his door, Raziel would just stomach it and go along with her to the Masque, if anything they could end up as friends. On the other hand, if it was a boy student...
Raziel looked up, blinking a few times and furrowing his brow. A slight noise had brought him out of his thoughts, but he wasn't entirely sure what it had been. He didn't have any windows in his dorm, so he chose to get up slowly and go to the door to see what might have happened.
Upon opening the door, Raziel looked up to see what appeared to be a male demon student standing there. He was taken a bit by surprise, and in the moment his mouth gaped open ever so slightly. The only thing going through Raziel's mind was the pathetically hopeful thought that this demon wasn't here to beat him up.
"Hello?" Raziel finally managed to stumble out.

Onibi starred down at the monster - Raziel, or so the card had said - that had, regrettably, answered. He supposed he still had time to make up an excuse. 'Oh sorry, wrong room' or 'I found this personals card and was trying to return it' would work. On the other hand he was already here and instead held out the two cards with Raziels messy writing towards the gaping student - and oh, that was cute - , face impassive despite the white knuckled grip he had on the lantern in his other hand. His eyes flickered around the area a few times, making sure no overly nosey monsters were hiding behind corners or in cracks, before meeting again with Raziels.
"Go to the moonlight masque with me," and that didn't seem quite the right thing to say first, so he quickly added, "I'm Onibi," inwardly wincing at the backwardness of it all.

It seemed for a moment that they both stood there at the open door taking each other in. Raziel's eyes flickered over the details in the demon's clothing, then back up to his face. Raziel took in every detail he could in that short moment before being brought back to the present by the demon's sudden question.
Go.. to the masque? ...With him? Somehow Raziel had thought these kind of moments were meant to be more romantic and surreal. Not that this was entirely believable to begin with. With that thought Raziel's eyes widened ever so slightly, this couldn't be a trick, could it? Hoping it wasn't, Raziel did the only thing he could think of doing.
"O-okay..." Raziel managed to get out, and then included, "It's nice to meet you Onibi." Raziel glanced aside, hoping that he wasn't blushing or anything.
"Do you mean right now?" Raziel remembered before retreating a step back into his room, hand still holding the door wide open. "But what would I wear," he whispered mostly to himself.

Onibis brow furrowed imperceptibly, "Yes?" Perhaps it was some weird monster ritual to arrive at a certain time, though the emptiness of the dorms and haunting wails heard even from the monster district suggested otherwise. He was too busy over the fact that he'd said yes to think further on the matter. The Ao-andon had been well caught off guard with the easy acceptance of his offer, expression rather deadpan as Raziel debated with himself over his state of dress.
That had Onibi moving again, "Nothing," No, wait, "I mean, what you're wearing now is fine," And it wasn't like Onibi himself was dressed up either. He doubted anyone would notice with all the festivities in full swing.
Grabbing the others wrist he made to lead Raziel away from what was sure to be, if he was anything like the demons Onibi knew, hours of digging through a closet. Belatedly he realised he'd had to be given ample instructions on how to even get to the others dorm.

Raziel stopped pondering to himself when Onibi began speaking again. Wear nothing? Oh, just this. He guessed it wouldn't matter after all. He was a monster after all, he need not to dress up, even though Raziel wanted to look nicer for any sort of special occasion.
Without another moment to think, Raziel felt Onibi grab his wrist and pull him out of the dorm, the door shutting loudly behind him. Taking a second to catch himself, Raziel asked, "Umm, you do know where you're going, right?"
Raziel wasn't sure how well Onibi knew his way around the monster dorms, or on top of that where the masque was even being held. Raziel for one didn't know where the masque was aside from the vague direction all the noise was in.

"You can... I can get you something from one of the vendors once there, if it bothers you," Like a mask, or whatever was normally worn. He choose to ignore the question directed at him.
This was a bit awkward, Onibi belatedly mused as they passed the same jack-o-lantern shaped crack in the wall for the third time. Awkward and clumsy and he'd barely said three full sentences to the other boy he was currently toting along on an impromptu date that he hadn't thought out in the least. It was, to say the least, completely out of character for him. He'd for sure find something suitable to blame it on later. Glancing behind him (because he really did not want to acknowledge the same crack in the wall for the fourth time) his fingers twitched around the wrist still in his possession at the obvious blush still tinting the monsters cheeks and ears. And though Onibi was trying to suppress the heat rising to his own ghostly pale skin - albeit with much more success - it was still terribly cute.
Well. Things definitely could have been worse.

Being new around new around the campus, Raziel wasn't overly familiar with how everything was laid out and where things were, but he did have a relatively good knowledge of how to get out o the monster dorms. Once he stopped staring at Onibi and wondering how he had managed to get this lucky, he realized they were going in circles. Trying to be discreet, when they came to the right turn, Raziel made to move in the correct direction, hoping that Onibi would catch on and it wouldn't be too awkward.
They were almost at the dance really, and Raziel's excitement was growing. He only hoped that once there, the festivities would not get hold of him and he would stay in control.
