How the heck do you lose a child in a museum like this? Romero thought as the vampire looked in a gallery of Impressionism artwork, thinking that would be where his stitched together young charge was hiding. Sadly Eve was nowhere in the gallery.

The vampire growled softly under his breath, cursing Anya and Ivy's names in his head while considering buying a tracking chip to put into Ivy's daughter. The child harness hadn't worked on the little girl.

Said little girl was nowhere near the impressionism gallery, in fact the ragdoll was in a section filled with many statues standing around her little form. She was basically working on sketch of a statue entitled Adonis while hiding from the one uncle of her family she feared.

"Why did Mommy make him babysit me?" She asked herself as Ivy had already known about the comments and dislike that the male vampire had shown to the ragdoll. Still she was struck with a very mean vampire as a babysitter.

"Regina, no. I will not go find someone and bribe them to draw you. I can paint something up when we get home now go and enjoy yourself. If I hear you've stung anyone or caused any sort of mayhem, I'll make sure you regret it," Ary growled, releasing her daughter's white gloved hand after what felt like ages of her whining. And it wasn't that high-pitched and repetitive whining, no, it was the proper and overly arguable kind she couldn't exactly ignore.

"Thank you Mother, yes Mother, I promise to behave," Regina replied calmly, cloak sliding around her shoulders to envelope her entirely in its shimmery light-blue fabric. It was a sight indeed, with a silvery crown perched upon the girl's blue hair. Everything matched and screamed wealth and royalty practically.

"Oh, hello," Regina muttered, surprised into informality when a voice came out of nowhere from behind a statue. As she moved around it, a little girl came into view all the while sketching something. Was she a ragdoll? Her skin was definitely unusual and strange. Struggling to subdue her completely formal attitude by her mother's request, Regina drew herself up and peered down at the sketch. "I'm Queen Regina. Who are you and what is it you are drawing?" she asked, the snobbishness in her voice down several notches compared to her usual tone around new people.

Eve was startled as the sound of footsteps and thought it was Romero. She opened her mouth to tell him to go away or be nice if he had to be around.

She kept her eyes on the sketch until she felt someone next to her. The sketch was of the statue in front of her though it was only halfway done and not that detailed yet. The little girl didn't look up from the picture, but answered back, "Lovely to meet you, milady. I'm Eve and I'm trying to draw the statue in front of me."

Since the girl had called herself a queen, Eve thought it best to address her as nobility. Regina seemed slightly different though she didn't sound as struck up as she had at Howl's birthday party.

She sat the pencil down and looked up at her with mismatched eyes.

"I remember you from Howl's birthday party."

Regina's eyes narrowed a bit at the mention of Howl's birthday party. "Yes, I remember you as well. You're that peasant's friend... Azrael, I believe," she replied, irritation creeping into her voice at the mere mention of the boy. However, it was not addressed to Eve as she had used a more formal reply and thus already a little better than an average person.

((I apologize for the short and crappy post. ;_; ))

"Azrael's a peasant? He seemed like a demon to me more," Eve only heard others addressed as peasants in her history lessons and bedtime stories.

Then again, Eve was a reanimated ragdoll.

"I've read up on you, milady. The snow queen, correct?" Eve had found the story of the snow queen very interesting though she had yet to find a story about Azrael.

((It's all right.))

Regina stuck her nose up. “Demon, peasant, it doesn’t matter. I call those I detest a peasant as that is the lowest one can be in society next to a slave but even those can be better than the average peasant,” she replied, speaking the word with absolute disgust in her voice. Peasants were dirty and didn’t obey those better than them. All in all, they were disgusting and vile little creatures. Like spiders but worse.

“Yes, I am the Snow Queen. What, exactly, are you?” Regina replied, appearing to swell a little with pride as Eve mentioned reading up on her and saying nothing more about the orange-haired vermin. Good, it meant she was far more distinguished than he was which meant she could irritate him and prove he could never amount to anything compared to her.

"He isn't that bad. Though you two don't seem to get along very well."

Eve had noted how they spoke to each other at the party. The ragdoll didn't care about if a person was a peasant, royalty and peasants had the same red blood running through their veins.

"Your story is one of my favorites. A lot more well-known than his. I have yet to find a single story about demons," the little girl went quiet at the question about what she was. Most people on Gaia didn't seem too bothered by how she looked or what she was, but she still feared that they would think her like the movie monster she was like.

"I'm a reanimated ragdoll with a goat's leg," Eve said softly.

“We don’t. He’s a prideful, stubborn idiot,” Regina replied coolly, happy that there wasn’t a single story on demons entirely. Or at least one Eve could find, since the little queen herself was pretty sure she could probably find a few in her mother’s private library. But, if she could politely inform the orange-haired fool, perhaps he wouldn’t act like he should be king of everything and everyone and should be praised as a god or something.

“Thank you. And you are? Most interesting,” Regina added, looking the girl over as she explained what she was. A reanimated ragdoll was most interesting indeed. Living with Ary definitely had its perks, since all the usual strange mixture of creatures had absolutely no scare factor and being queen, what would she care? She would never have to deal with them and if she did, her snow bees would quickly take care of whatever idiot decided to piss her off. No wonder the little snow queen was given to the white-haired devil woman; they were so alike it was scary. “Far more interesting than that orange and purple demon,” she added, mind lingering a little on their previous conversation topic.

"I know someone like that. My uncle Romero is just like Azrael then." Then again, Damin kept books about demons far from the ragdoll's reach, some nonsense about her being too impressionable to read them. The ragdoll didn't think her friend had an ego like that, but she tended to try to see the good in others instead of the bad.

Eve smiled faintly, "I'm just like any other child inside." Though she hid how she felt about her appearance from her family, she merely thought her form strange. She also preferred to not hurt others, one made friends easier without hurting them.

Even Anya questioned why Eve had been given to her mother with what kind of family they had.

"At the last party, I wanted to ask you if you would help me do a painting. I need a model and none of my family is willing to pose for me."

"Is he the one you are hiding from?" Regina questioned, remembering the strange man muttering dark curses about losing a child as she toured the various paintings and works of art. They were pretty impressive, that was for sure and thus the queen still hoped that she could someday get art just as beautiful of herself. What would art be without being that of a beloved or all powerful queen?

And of course, Eve happened to provide such an opportunity. "Of course. I would enjoy to be the main focus of any piece of art," she replied, a sly smirk crawling onto her face. She wasn't vain, no, but gaining art of oneself was indeed a high honor. Sure Eve might not be famous, but one had to start somewhere yes?

Eve frowned and nodded, "Uncle Romero is mean to me. Says I'm a monster because of how I look." She would have preferred having someone else as a babysitter, someone she wasn't afraid of. She loved art, had done so since she was barely a month old.

Regina was pretty to Eve and seemed like a good model to the young ragdoll. "My work is nothing like the master artists of history, but my mother says I have great talent."

She opened the sketch book and opened it to the other girl for her to see the ragdoll's other work. There were detailed drawings of every kid she had met in it along with some drawings of her family she had done out of boredom.

"That is an incredibly mean thing to say. You are not a monster simply by looks alone. You have to act the part too," Regina replied, finding such a notion atrocious. "You are very kind and you do not even remotely look like a monster. A little odd, perhaps, but then again everyone is," she added thoughtfully. A little out of character, perhaps revealing a slightly different person beneath that cold and snobby attitude.

"Ooh, excellent. I'm sure my picture will be far greater than their," she added with a smirk. "Especially a specific someone with bright orange hair." And there the attitude was back, the ever eternal war of ego's flaring up again.

"Uncle Romero seems to think differently. Thanks though for the compliment," Eve said softly. Her mother always did say there was no such thing as normal. Odd was what everyone was. The little girl just never believed.

The peek past the attitude was strange to Eve, but she thought Regina was nice though struck up at times.

Eve wrote her address and the number that Damin had told her to give to her friends on an unused page in her sketch book, the corner of one actually. She tore it off carefully and handed it to the other girl.

"Here, my address and the number to call to let me know you're coming over."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 06, 2011 7:29 pm

Regina looked over the number curiously before silently depositing it in a hidden pocket of her cloak. “Thank you, Eve. I will make sure I put it to good use. Hm, I see an unusual-looking man looking around the museum as well as my mother. I assume said man is the one you wish to avoid?” she asked, pondering ways to deter him if it was. Ary would instantly recognize the acts were her own, but was probably more willing to let them talk than to separate them. Unless she was being escorted out and had come to look for her. Just one of the many flaws of her guardian, her lack of patience and quickness to violence.

Eve bit her lip and nodded. Romero was one of the few the little girl really feared, but he loved to torment her. She would love to avoid him if she could. She smiled a moment later and closed the sketchbook, tucking the pencil behind her ear to keep there until she drew again.

"Romero's pale with black hair and dark blue eyes. He has a mean feeling about it," she said, getting up. "I wouldn't mind avoiding him, but I'd like to see the other part of the museum. I heard that they have a showing of all of the paintings of major artists in the eighteenth century. Would you come with me?"

Eve smiled gently at her, hoping that she would come with her to see the paintings. Admiring beauty from years ago was better with friends, right?
