Josh wanted me to make a new thread dedicated to anime and manga related news happenings. Types of things that should be posted here are deaths/accidents involving anime staff/mangakas (i.e. the recent death of Satoshi Kon), casting announcements, production announcements, etc. Convention announcements should be posted in the thread "Anime Conventions."
Anyway, one big announcement that was posted on ANN today was that Berserk, the long-running dark fantasy manga by Kentaro Miura, will be getting a new anime adaptation. Please check out the Young Animal website for four days starting on Wednesday for a new commercial about the show each day.

I wasn't quick to post, as I am generally slow to react to people who can't be bothered to follow proper post protocol (topic introduced in OP, thing that you have to say about topic in the second) after being corrected, but this series has me pumped. So far as I'm concerned, it was the best graphic novel ever written and the only anime adapted from it is just... frustrating. I'm not in love with the fact that it's not traditional animation, but still... It is Berserk. It comes with my highest recommendations, but it also comes with the promise that if I ever, ever find out that any of you downloaded it illegally without buying it no less than thirty days after you started viewing will be punished harshly. Minimum penalty is immediate ejection from the guild. The maximum I cannot say, for merely doing so would violate the ToS. I can't wait for it to get finished, licensed, and translated.

I'll have to read this, in full later, but I hope it's implemented globally, soon. They should have started enforcing the law much sooner.
