for example pokemon. i named my mareep zues, my onyx hydra, my sandshrew hades, and my zubat harpi.(i hope i spelled everything right.
has anyone else done this or anything similar?

I named my Mabari in Dragon Age:Origins Ares... Because mabaris are war dogs. I think the name suited him just perfect.
Not like I play videogames much ... ninja

Only when I make a badass avatar in Fallout. Usually its Ares or Zeus and I use codenames for the other companions. Like dog meat I use Cerberus, for Fox I use Hephaestus, and so on and so forth.

^^ I named my GFs in FF8, Kwan Yin, the goddess of mercy in buddhism; Morpheus, Calliope, Artemis, Hecate, and Thanatos.
My cousin ended up renaming the one I had named Persephone "Fluffy" as a joke. I didn't think it was very funny, so I renamed all his pokemon after characters from Pride and Prejudice. He wasn't very happy to find that his Bulbasaur was suddenly "Mr. Darcy"...
