Question is in the title.
For me.. considering I was able to make over 3mil in about 3 days, just doing a random number generator contest, it's pretty easy. Even without contests or commissions, the fastest I made a large sum of gold was 15mil in about 2 months or so, solely farming zOMG and buying/reselling rings.
Other questions:
What are your methods of making gold?
What's the most gold you remember having?
Do you want any insanely expensive items? (4mil+?)

For me.... it can be easy or hard.
I dont think I can make as much gold as you or probably some others eek I think you made more money in 2 months than I have since I started Gaia. sweatdrop I wish I coud make that much. lol.
The hardest thing for me is just getting on gaia and even then just the patient to do stuff. xp
I use to play Booty Grab. But because of my internet connection and low patient I just tend to just get...20-30k per day (on a good day) or just 10k if im lazy (and if I dont look at people avi and see somthing I like).
My highset amount of money is ...probably 7-800k I think..(Very long time ago)
Also, I prefer not going on the computer too much and im usuallly only on like 2-4hours (~1hr inthe morning and ~2hrs before bed), Which I just go to check mail/facebook/other random stuff.

I say it's hard cause of all my time on Gaia the highest I ever got was 70K....I have yet to make a million or higher then 70K...I might be doing something wrong or just too lazy to try to make more but I heard that zomg is the best to get gold in

It used to be really easy for me, when they had booty grab on separate sites that told you when certain tanks were ready to be grabbed. You can't have those sites anymore... :'( And my computer sucks too hard to surf around and look for them. When I get my lappy I am hoping to be able to rake in more gold from booty grabbing. I started playing zomg again... and I found that from playing for like 30 mins I get a thousand or so gold. C:
I don't think I've ever had a million gold at one time. I have easily that in items... but... :'( I have never been over 200k. Gah... I really want to buy the stuff on my wishlist... but find it rather hard for me to get gold. I gotta play zomg before bed every night I guess. I don't do contests or anything... :I Cuz I dunno how.
I'm hoping when I get my drawing muse back I can open up a shop or do an auction or something and rake in some gold that way. mad Grrrrr.

And that's only because of that event [Holloween?] that gave out a like 20k gold for completing, and I did it on several accounts.

Due to zOMG's halloween event, I was able to reach 1mil twice. xD; I got this pretty balloooon~  And a few other pricey items.

due to a serious lack of free time, i've never managed to reach 1mil in gold, but given my current graduated situation it may be more palpable now than ever. heart
edit: plus i've just recently decided to go back and start selling all my super old event items and a few donation items since i've been hoarding them for years and hardly ever wear any of them.

never in my entire time on Gaia have I ever made 1 million. That's six years of me being lazy/getting nice things from sweet friends.

I love it when I stash stuff away and like years later I find it in my inventory or on my mule... and sell it for a high price. :')
My ex gave me a super expensive item like 4 years ago, I put it on my mule, found it a few days ago, sold it for a LOT of gold... Best feeling ever. smile

I guess with me it depends on patience. I'll buy a bunch of rare or collectables, then wait months till its batshit crazy expensive then sell it for a fat profit. But again it takes a lot of patience.

Even when I was selling sealeds at 5K, The most I ever had on me was about 1mil. That was it, of course at the time, the items I had weren't over a million at the time I bought them.
Nitemare scarf was 600K and now it's what... over 14mil. Angelic scarf was 500K and now it's a little over 10mil.
