*Sucks on an orange slice, waiting for the rest of her breakfast to be delivered, her hair dragged up for once*

Really, I'm sorry for the short notice... sort of just wanted to get out of the office for a bit... *chews lower lip*

It's fine. Kept me from sleeping in all day. *Smiles, toying with the straw of his tall glass of orange juice*

I'm really glad you called.

I envy you sleeping in. I've got children on the weekends and patients who act like children every day, so I'm usually up early in the mornings.

*Pauses and smiles* Oh, I haven't asked you about what you do for a living.

Starving artist. Well, not really. I sold some singles back in the day and made a nice nest egg for myself. I'm thinking about opening up a garage down past Piccadilly Circus in London. There's a few buildings over there I've been looking at and people don't drive much, sure, but I have seen a ton of antique cars and bikes around here. My uncle back home runs his own business and I used to work summers up there with him, it's hard on the hands, but it's fun work.

*Smiles, pushing his shades on top of his head*

You can run now, because most would automatically call that the "He's a bum" speech, right?

I perpetually attract lazy, slob-ish men. *Smiles, however, apparently unbothered by his lack of job*

Hey, I am not a slob. Ripped jeans and wife beater shirts are in. *Laughs*

I just like the whole, James Dean/Elvis Presley look. I was in awe of those guys when I was a little kid. My mom worked a lot, so our landlord watched me and she was just nuts over those two. I think she was like in her fifties at that point, but she always said, "Those are the cool guys. They get the girl and they make trouble, but not for good people, just for themselves and they learn from it." Like, it builds character or something like that..

And here I was taught to draw inspiration from historical figures made famous by their achievements in science and society. Silly. *Laughs, but it's not malicious*

Hey, Abe Lincoln knew what was up.

*Laughs*

But they were historical figures, though. Elvis achieved a lot in his short time, sure it might not have been super revolutionary, but no man ever had the balls to get up on stage and move like him. He was the one who really got the whole "back-then" slut shaming thing thrown out the window.

*Props her elbow on the table, resting her chin on her fist and looking quite pleased with his response*

An excellent point.

*Gives a shy grin, drinking a good fourth or so of his juice*

So, now that we know I'm good with being a jobless mess.. How's being a healer treating you?
PostPosted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 6:08 am

Quite well, actually. *Looks amused, nibbling at another orange slice between sentences* Not career-wise, because I destroyed any hopes of advancing in the field outside of my own practice, but occupation-wise, marvelous -- I have several successful cases, and several more who need only a few more months before I can graduate them. It is a never-ending cycle with Travelers -- a majority of Travelers come from the second war era, did you know that? -- but it's rewarding because I actively see people changing their mindsets, changing their life goals, and it's... refreshing.

I noticed that.. I have a couple of friends in London who are travelers from like, this time era.. It must be cool to work with people and basically help them rebuild everything. Actually, that's really cool...

*Watches her*

So, what about after job interests? I already know you dig dancing and grabbing coffee, but...what other things get you smiling?

Reading. I adore reading... and cinema. I love a good romantic comedy. Or drama, of course.

I don't really have much time beyond work, really. I'm hardly ever away from the center.

Romantic comedies are good. I dug the Proposal and that Bounty Hunter flick. *Nods, finishing a little over half of his remaining juice in one go, loving orange juice a great deal*

Man, you should change that. Awesome work is awesome, but awesome down time his better. I really wanna check out some of the tourist bits here in Little Shell. I haven't gotten to see much of it yet.
