Stumble upon this while reading my LJ friend page. It looks nice, like all final fantasies but I still have my doubts wether it'll be worth buying or not.

The demo that came with Dragon Quest 8 was pretty fun. But I started my Final Fantasy playing with VII, liked that one and all of the ones after it, but never could really get into the older ones, so maybe I'm not the best person to listen to.

It attracts me because it has airships and the producer is the same guy who did Vagrant Story. Which noone played but is fantastic. Oh, and lack of random combat. Because I can't even begin ranting on my intense hatred of random battles.

Then again Square haven't done a decent FF game since 7. Or a decent game since Einhander. Sorry kids, Kingdom Hearts sucks.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike was supposed to be the last fighting game Capcom was evar going to make.

Then years later they announce Street Fighter 4 is in production.

Give Square time. They'll come out with more. They might need to take a while before they come out with another FF.

Like Godzilla. Godzilla's been put on hold for about 10 years maximum while Toho asks itself how the hell they're going to revive the franchise properly, rather than just making a Matrix-meets-Independence Day with rubber monsters thrown in thoughtlessly. *coughcough*Final Wars*coughcough*

It'll never be as good as Final Fantasy VI. xp

VI was one of the old ones that I tried and couldn't get into. Too much spliting up of the story between all the different characters may have had something to do with it.
