Bio: In the 1500's, a demon terrorized the land of Hawaii. There a shaman that sealed this demn into a young boy and ended the Era of Calamities...but this was done with consequences. Joshua was the host of a dangerous and powerful spirit, and outcast by his fellow peers, the only comfort that he had was the kind shaman, who became a father to him.
During early life, Joshua suffered from bouts of depression, the origins of which are unknown. Through these times of hardship, he ignored his Shaman's teaching and saw fighting and a sense of heroism served as an outlet for him and after his interest sparked later in life, Joshua decided to be a cop, a member of the SWAT force, or a general as the focus of his career or be a part of a super human powered crime-fighter because it helped him tame the evil spirit. The shaman was adamant that he not embark on such a course, fearing that Joshua would provoke the spirit into taking control.
Tensions arose between the two, and eventually led Joshua frequently tried to escape and leave home. Eventually, he accepted the Shaman's wishes and began to forget about 'becoming the hero', ostensibly asking a friend to live out his own wishes to stop the injustice in the world. This same friend died of a gang war sometime afterward, thus serving as an impetus for Joshua to re-enter the world of violence at the behest of his dying friend.
Ignoring the Shaman's plead for Joshua to live a peaceful life, by a later age of 17 sent an application towards Reed's School of Magic, thinking that it was a joke...
