It was a seasonable autumn day in the Soquili lands as a dark coated filly moved fluidly through an open field. The tall grass ticking her under carriage as she picked up her dainty hooves in proud, high stepping strides. Everything about the little female shouted confidence and poise, from the lofty carriage of her head to the way her short, foal's tail swayed. She certainly seemed to carry herself with a sense of purpose, being the last (and very best) daughter of the elder, Cyrus. Bestowed with such a title Alokii believed herself to be fully deserving of the finer things in life--and she was prepared to do everything in her power to see that she received such fine things. Even if that meant muscling her three elder brothers out of the way!

This breezy afternoon the little princess had escaped her hovering nanny and much older niece, Caelyndei, to enjoy a pleasurable stroll beneath open skies dotted with the occasional puff of white to disrupt the otherwise endless blanket of blue. A quiet stream trickled somewhere nearby, perhaps at the far edge of the pasture she strolled through for the sound was faint. In the distance at her left shoulder a dark forest freckled with thin shafts of light, where they managed to break through the dense leaf cover, beckoned Alokii's attention. Silver gray gaze drifting to watch the trees as she jogged along, half expecting to see the flicker of shadow creatures amongst the thick trunks. An adventure seemed to be beckoning her, but the midnight filly had never been the sort to pay mind of the desires of anyone but herself.

The colt walked briskly through the grass. He looked once over his shoulder, seeing nothing, he grinned and continued on his way. This was awesome!! He rarely got up early in the morning but he saw his chance to slip away from his family when his dad got up and left for his usual morning drink in the nearby stream. The fact that Rhydian hadn't gotten caught yet, well he must be getting better with sneaking off! True, he was probably going to be in a ton of trouble when he got back home but for now he was going to enjoy himself. Besides, he'd already had a done of time-outs over the months. It was something he was used to, even though he still whined and sulked about getting punished.

It was a nice autumn day, the leaves had already changed colour but not all of them had fallen yet. The breeze that rustled through his hair wasn't cold either, it was a perfect day. He looked around and grinned at the sight of the forest. Back home Rhydian, his brother and sister were not allowed to go into the forest, unless accompanied by one of their parents. But he definitely could go in this forest. It looked so dark from where he stood but just because it looked spooky from the outside, it didn't mean it was spooky on the inside.

He paced outside the forest, back and forth. Rhydian knew he was brave and probably could handle anything in that forest but he also didn't want to go by himself. But when he looked to the left, there was no one there and to the right of him, nothing either. It was extremely frustrating and Rhydian was not a patient colt. He looked again to his right and then finally spotted her. It was another foal. Yes! Rhydian turned towards the direction she was in and started to trot over, his hooves bounding through the grass excitedly.

The rustle of grass being forcefully thrust this way and that alerted Alokii to the potential unpleasantness of unwanted company long before the little filly caught sight of the painted colt. Slender, long-legged frame stood still as a statue, though less with fright and more in a manner of dignified impatience. If her expression didn't speak her thoughts clearly enough, the Elder Cyrus' daughter's greeting filled in the gaps well enough. "What in the name of green apples do you think you're doing? You should approach a girl more carefully, don't you know who I am?"

Silver-grey eyes unique to Alokii alone within her family were already taking in every inch of the strange foal that had ran at her in such a startlingly abrupt manner. Examining everything from the bottoms of his hooves to the tips of his ears and everything in between. He seemed to be a pure bred regular, like her. His coloring wasn't too unfamiliar, nor displeasing to the eyes. A painted coat like her niece Caelyndei. The words "niece" and "Caelyndei" always made her giggle given that Caely was many years her senior. She got no end of enjoyment bossing the mild mannered mare around.

Only time would tell if this colt was as easy to manipulate into answering her beckon call.
