From paper cuts to near death cases, the gleaming equipment and bright white sheet beds - are for the student or faculty - to receive first aid and cures.
The nurse CAN played by anyone.

Eliza came as soon as she heard that her friend was sick.
Probably that purple goo...she thought to herself. Still she carried a get well basket from the Great Hall and a few items from town she hoped would cheer him up.
Still, she didn't see Snape yet...and after that first impression she left on Luna, she better not sing while she waits.
Eliza takes out her sketchbook to design the finer details for her costume next month.

┏━━━━━━━━━┓  ┗━━━━━━━━━┛ Although he was in the infirmary, Severus wasn't sick at all. In fact, he was called in to tend to the sick. You see, apparently a baby Basilisk had gotten loose from Hagrid's hut and escaped into the castle. It wasn't old enough to cause any real damage, just paralyzing the ones that gazed into its eyes. Severus knew the most about Basilisks then any other student or teacher in all of Hogwarts: he had been obsessed with the subject since 2nd Year where Professor Slughorn had them disect a Basilisk's eyes to get the poison that it uses to kill creatures to put in a potion.

Not knowing of Severus' well being (that is, he wasn't sick) Eliza was surprised to see him not only upright but out of bed!
You certainly heal quickly - she says feeling embarressed for the treat basket. Luna said you were here and I thought, well -
Begins to blush, better to shut up now, than to be rambling again...

Eliza isn't sure how to feel.
Luna said you wern't coming - because you were in the infirmary. I didn't know you were helping out ...so...I -
She holds up the basket.
Jumping to conclusions, and bringing treats to someone who was nice enough to help you with both extra assignments and purple goo - yeah, that didn't sound obsessed.
Maybe Luna was right?
Did Snape only want to be friends with Luna, alone, too?

┏━━━━━━━━━┓ ┗━━━━━━━━━┛ Severus took the basket, still confused. "I-I'll take the basket to some of the patients. There's been a baby basilisk attack. I know the most about basilisks probably in the whole school, and that's why they called me." He sighed, and gave Eliza back her basket. "Why don't you take it back to Luna? When I'm finished here we could all munch on those."

Eliza takes the basket back from Snape trying not to look afraid.
Given the "speech" Luna gave her earlier, she might have almost prefered the baby basilisk. Still, she wanted to help...and if doing so meant getting from underfoot and making a bigger effort to get to know his friend...
So be it.
Sure thing, Severus...Luna showed me the way last time -
And to try not to show any hesitation, Eliza gave him a quick curtsy - as what he was doing was pretty noble - and turns to leave.

┏━━━━━━━━━┓ ┗━━━━━━━━━┛ Severus sighed, and turned around to continue talking with the nurses. He went over to a bed and showed them the exact three spots where they needed to inject the centaur blood so the patient could become unparalyzed.
The team, with Severus' orders, went around to each patient and woke them up, and gave them all food because the students hadn't eaten since the day they were paralyzed.
