READ ORIGINAL POST BEFORE VOTING. Would you be interested in reading my musings?
You're intelligent and well-spoken. Yeah, I'd definitely give it a chance and probably be a loyal reader.
Hm. I dunno. I'll read a few and then decide. You're a bit long-winded for my attention-span, sometimes.
Probably not with any regularity, but I might get suckered in from time to time if there are pretty pictures.
  No, I don't think so.

Please post if you vote. That will be taken under consideration when I'm deciding whether or not to do this.
For those of you that watch King of the Hill, do you remember Peggy's Musings Column in the Arlen Bystander? Where she often opened with some remark that was never witty, but almost always painful (if not downright heartbreaking, in it's pathos)? This will be nothing like that. I promise.
I got an assignment in my comics class to do a daily comic for a week. I thought to myself that that sounded kind of cool, but then thought to myself that I maybe I should start doing that, just for fun and keeping it up, even after the assignment ends. After all, it's only four panels.
Then I thought about how wordy I tend to be. People don't want to read blocks of texts in speech bubbles. So I was thinking that there might be an accompanying post of a couple of paragraphs (maybe more, depending on what I had to say, but probably no longer than this one).
Then it occurred to me that with my scanner still not working (or at least the connecting cable not working) I realized that there might not always be a comic to accompany it. I could at least promise the accompanying post, though at times it may not actually accompany anything.
As for what these would be about, it would differ from day to day, and there wouldn't be something everyday. However, from time to time, if I thought something insightful or was otherwise inspired, I'll most likely type something up.
The purpose would be to inspire conversation about any number of topics and keep them going for as long as they go. If it works out, I'll probably move it the the Writing sub-forum (depending on several things, including how much is writing, how much is discussion, and how much is art) and we'll continue it there. If it doesn't work out, then I'll archive it and forget about it.
Does that sound interesting to you? How many of you would read it?

I must admit, this idea of your has me curious. I like well written comics.

Me too, actually. I think this'd be pretty interesting.

Get to see more of your lovely drawings, too.

Well, let's put a number to this. It looks like there are 14 active members, right now. If I get seven definite yes votes and no definite negatives, then I'll do it.
Oh, and of course the people with less than 50 votes and the lurkers (do we have lurkers?) are also welcome to vote, but I don't want to set the bar too high. We'll see how the turn out it.
Oh, and of course I'm doing the assignment, either way.

Admittedly, I don't really watch King of the Hill as I've never found their humor (for what little of it I find) to actually be very funny to me.

However, the idea does interest me. I'd be interested in seeing them- though I can't say that I'd be consistently reading them. After all, I haven't read my favorite web comic, Order of the Stick, in well over a year- in fact, it's probably looming closer to 3 years now. As such, I'm not sure where to place my vote, as I like the idea, but I'm not sure if I'll consistently read it- and not due to long-windedness, as I'm horribly prone to that as well.

EDIT: Dammit... I hate it when I use the wrong posting style... especially in guilds. They really need to move the main forum coding to the guilds.

There wasn't an option in the poll that fit my thoughts, but I voted for first option. I can't promise to be a 'loyal reader', but you know that would be more from being busy than from any lack of interest. I find everything you say worth reading.

Oh, and, just a side note, I'm pretty sure I count as a lurker, hehheh.

I love the Order of the Stick. You should definitely catch up, of you fins yourself with spare time. Good stuff.

I say you do it, either just in writing or with/in a comic. Granted I think the comic will be more fun, the just typed up musings would be interesting.

I know im a lurker 3nodding

I would read and most likely enjoy commenting, but will you keep it up? You've always had a bit of a problem staying motivated with any one task for long.

Well, this guild has been around since 2006, so there's one for a four-year period.

Well, with only four votes in favor, it's looking as though I won't bother to publish them here. Maybe I'll put them in the art thread, but it doesn't seem that they need their own thread, or that I should continue it after the assignment.

Well, there really isn't sufficient interest for me to justify expending paper this way, so I guess I won't be doing that. The polls will remain open, but I'm not expecting much.
Had the project gotten the green light (from you and thus also from me) it would be a lot like this, except that it would be followed by a commentary by myself, mostly just a brief explanation of the comic or any additional story that might enhance the experience.
This was a daily comic for last week, beginning September 24th, as a daily comic journal for a six day period.
It will also be posted in Matasoga's Sketchbook, so if you want to see it after it's archived, you can always go there (or my Deviant Art, where my account name is also Matasoga).
Enjoy, I s'ppose.

On a final note, please leave all comments on the work (for those of you that have any) in the sketchbook thread, as this one will be retired, in due time. You're welcome to also leave them here, but if you only comment once, please do so there.
I could also use some more comments on my DA account, so if you have an account of your own and you enjoy my work, feel free to comment and Watch me.

If you've ever read Dominic Deegan he has word blocks for panels and it's no bigs. The story is good, the art is marginal, the world is creative.

Dresden Codak requires one to be a ******** genius to get all of the jokes, but it's still a good read, a bit wordy but never boring.

XKCD usually requires background knowledge of some tech savvy s**t or that you read the post under the comic explaining the situation, it's a popular comic.

I think as long as you can convey your ideas well and be somewhat witty...which you usually are you shouldn't have a problem. Give it a try.

I've really already made my decision. I'm letting the poll decide. I counted up the "active" users (people who have over 50 posts and posted in the last month) there were 14. This is a guild that (as of it's creation) revolved around me and I am still the only real unifying factor. The members here are supposed to be some of the people that care about me most.
If I can't even get half of the active people here to tell me they want to read it, why on earth would anyone else? It's in your hands, now.

Just as I was about to retire this, I see that there was an eight vote cast in favor of me doing this... With additional moderate support.
Now I am definitely considering going at this and making it a regular thing, though just now I've fallen a bit behind, so you may not see any right away, but I just may keep this around, especially if it receives attention and support once I start turning them out.
