Today was a slighty windier day than Bug had experience in the past with. But no worries, she had decided that she'd try to use the wind to her advantage. Maybe flight was only possible by gliding, she had to test this theory at least.
Bug sized up the trees in the park, ah this one should be tall enough she thought as she made her way to it. Looking the tree up close she noticed there wasn't many lower branches to use. With a sigh she pretended to roll up long sleeves and bear hugged the beast of the trunk before her.
Now with a couple of scratches, some even showing a bit of blood, Bug reached out and took hold of the lowest branch. Using most of her left over might she managed to pull herself onto the top of it and looked down at the park kingdom 15 feet below her.

Vance was ready for another full day of adventuring. Like any kid, he felt the park was the best place to start. The green haired boy swung his backpack back and forth as he made his way through the lightly tree-scaped area. He had been so pumped to play here, but now he was at a loss. What was there to do at a par he had explored so much already?
With a puff of his cheeks, the boy tossed his supply filled bag to the ground and flopped onto his back. Staring up at the tree tops above, he spotted something unusual. There was someone on a branch quite high up.
Blinking, the boy looked a bit longer. With a short gasp he sat up. "Bug!" He called from his spot, waving at the now familiar girl.

The yellow girl stood up on the branch she was sitting with much precision, obviously she had done this before, and was about to reach for her next height when her wings fluttered at the sound of her name.
Bug looked about, eying the landscape for someone she knew, if she could find anyone, they probably just found a bug bug.
green, green green, I don't see any pe... oh green person! Bug smiled and called down to the boy with a bag.
"Vance!"
She hadn't seen him in a while and in her excitement jumped down to greet him. The poor girls legs shook from the impact causing her to crouch down for a moment while she gathered her strength. After which Bug snapped into a standing position and casually made her way to Vance with a bit of a giggle.

Vance stood up now that he had been noticed, smiling and waving to Bug. He flinched when the girl hit the ground with a wobble. That looked painful! Bug seemed to snap back quickly, so the boy let it slide. He ran up to Bug with a grin. She had gotten bigger, just like him. Did everyone get big since he last saw them? He needed to go see some time.
He ran up to the girl and gave her a big hug. "I missed you Bug! You never told me where your hide out is." If only he had known. Maybe he could have surprised her with a visit. e let the girl go and stood back a big, stuffing his hands into the pocket of his hoodie.
"I came here to look for bugs and tadpoles. Why're you here?" He asked excitedly.

Now closer to Vance Bug noticed his height, he got bigger, he must have been like her in some way, after all Wei did say most people don't grow over night, it took years!
"I missed you too! Sorry, I guess we just figure everyone knows where it is. Umm, it's several blocks in that direction By the sea inlet" She said hugging Vance back and pointed after her let go of her.
Bug giggled, "Looking for bug's and tadpoles" some how seemed funny.
"I came here to test the wind for flight, I haven't gotten it down yet, but don't worry I'll get it, for sure" Bug told him with confidence. Bug twisted her foot in the dirt as she asked " We could, if you want to, go to the pond. There isn't that many tadpoles now a days, more frogs, we could catch them and the dragonflies that are hovering around, and the caterpillars, there's lots of those too."

Sea inlet? So, that meant by the sea somewhere? Hm.. maybe King Levi knew of it. Either way, he now had an idea of where to find it.
So the reason she was jumping from a tree was to try and fly? True enough, she did have wings after all. "Cool! It'd be awesome if you could fly." He encouraged eagerly.
Vance widened his eyes and nodded with a smile. "Could we? That sounds like fun! I wanna catch bugs with you, Bug!.....Hee hee hee!" Vance cupped his mouth and giggled. "Bug catches bugs." He giggled some more, finding the name sake very silly at the time.
He got over his giggle fest and grabbed his bag from the ground. "C'mon! Let's go to the pond!"

Smiling back "It would, wouldn't?! and if you want, I'll carry you and you can fly with me." she offered. She hadn't really talked about flying with people who didn't have wings or couldn't already fly, she wondered with people who couldn't physically do it ever wanted to too.
Bug giggled, "Mmhmm." She knew very well that her name and her that one past time together sounded funny. The little girl waited for him to grab his things. Once prepared, Bug's hand slipped into his and she pulled him in the direction of the pond.
"Yes, lets!" she said giggling.

Fly? The thought of flying over the trees was delightful. Vance stared at the sky dreamily for a moment before settling his gaze back at Bug. Could she even carry him though? "Sure! One day!" He said with a nod. They had things to do. so it would have to wait.
Vance gripped Bug's hand and nodded, heading toward the pond. How exciting! On a bug hunt with his friend.
At the pond, Vance stopped and widened his grin at the sounds of bugs and toads. How wonderful! He set down his bag again, putting it to the side. "Catch some for later... or snack on the go?" He pondered out loud, looking at his bag. He had brought a bug jar to catch bug with, but did he need it?

She nodded back at her green friend, it was a silent packed sealed for now.
They arrived at their destination! Bug let go of Vance's hand so he could do his bag thing. Bug came to the conclusion that carrying a bag with you was quite a hassle but she didn't say anything.
She peeked over his shoulder to try and see what he was looking for in his bag. "Catch some for later... or snack on the go?" she parroted while squatted beside him looking at Vance's face inquisitively.

Vance pulled out a jar for bug catching, smiling proudly. "I also have a net. I catch a bunch, and try and trap them in the jar to eat later." He set it aside and pulled out a brown paper bag. "And this is my lunch. I have a sandwich and juice. I can share." He put that back inside his bag as well. He pulled out the net and closed the bag, slinging it over his shoulder.
"Okay! Let's get to bug hunting!" He looked over the pond his eyes getting wide. "Tadpoles!!" He squatted near the edge of the pond, watching the the little guys swim about. Maybe he could grab one... and then be a big brother!

"A net?" Putting them in a jar to save them for later sounded reasonable but a net? That hardly made sense.
Bug nodded at the sharing of his sandwich. That as nice of him to be willing to share. "Thanks, I'd like that." she smiled. She was about to suggest they moved to the bushes, but saw how wide eyed Vance was over by the pond's edge. Bug giggled and hovered over him looking at the tadpoles. She tucked her hair behind her ear.
"Why don't we use your jar to put some tadpoles in instead of bugs?" If he wanted to keep them they'd need water after all and they wouldn't last long in their hands alone.

Vance liked this idea. The boy took off his bag again, stuffing the net inside and taking out his jar. Surely a tadpole would become a boy in his care. He came from a purse but... still. Normal frogs were also awesome! Maybe he could get an aquarium!
Vance dipped his jar into the water, managing to capture a couple of tadpoles. He sealed the jar and smiled widely. "I did it!" He stood up, holding his jar possessively. His tadpoles!
"I should name them! Like... uuuh.." he looked around, the spotting a flock of butterflies hovering across the pond.
First things first!
Vance set his jar down and turned to Bug. "We gotta get those butterflies!" He said with a grin. He jumped into the pond and sloshed after the fluttering bugs.

Giggling at Vance, he was just so into everything! Bug squawked when she was splashed by his jumping into the pond. Deciding not to get wet she'd take the flank to help catch the butterflies.
"Vance you gotta be sneaky. Butterflies spook easy! she warned afraid his hyperness might get the better of him and scare them away.
Arriving on the other side of the pond she found herself just out of reach of the butterflies. They were above some lily pads and Bug really did not want to go into the water. She'd just catch whatever ones tried to flee from Vance to the shore.

"Ooops. Sorry!" Vance replied, though it didn't seem he really got it. He sloshed a little bit slower toward the butterflies, trying to be sneaky. The butterflies indeed got spooked by Vance's approach, scattering in random directions. A few flew toward Bug's position. Vance stood his ground and tried to catch another with his tongue. He missed, prompting the butterfly to fly quite out of his reach. Darnit!
He looked over to Bug, eventually finding where she had moved to. Oh! She was being stealthy! He ducked down a bit to watch her work.

"So'kay" Bug sort of expected Vance to be like that, it was just his nature. When the Butterflies scattered and saw that Vance missed she felt bad for him. Bug spread out her wings fulling and flared at blast of wind in his direction pushing most of them right at Vance.
Now that he shouldn't have trouble catching at least one Bug darted after two that were flying intertwined. He wings laid flat to the ground as she stalked them from below. When they decided to perch on the grass Bug put her arms out snatching them both. Before they knew what hit them she stuffed them into her mouth. Looking back at Vance, she swallowed and smiled at him.
