707 Error ::: Suggestions

Our Mission: To take over the world.

Although 707 Error is meant to be a lighthearted B/C, there are several codes of conduct that we, as the owners and artists, vow to you, the participants that make this shop thrive.
When making your suggestions, please keep in mind the following.

»» We will not disregard one valid suggestion over another-- Whether you're a 'regular' in the thread, a lurker, or a passerby that has something to say. Feel free to post in the thread and we will take your suggestion into consideration.
»» Real life currency will never [Or well, hardly ever-- Not going to strike out serious, unexpected situations.] be accepted into 707. We try not to muddle up IRL and Gaia.
»» We try our best to to prevent Pokemon hoarding, so the three rule limit will stay regardless of who you are. [Unless you're me, HAHAHA-- /KILLED]
»» We are trying to focus on flatsale events more than customs or auctions, as well as evenly distributing pets for those who can't afford the absurd price tags.
»» Feel free to post and 'support' one suggestion or another. It will help us know what will be widely accepted and what might be a bad decision.

Not really a huge suggestion, but I think it'd be nice to have an uncert gallery for all of the gijinka's so people can look through them if they're interested and have easy access to them. =)

Done uncerts and fanart, but I probably won't be adding a plot section unless more people would like it. I think plots can generally be done over the main thread or in PMs/IMs, and I don't want the subforum section too cluttered. =X

Just a quick idea > maybe make a droppoffs thread where the cert links to the uncert so you don't have to post things in separate threads? You could combine the two threads so it'd be something like this:

[URL = UNCERT ] [ IMG ][CERT][ /IMG ]
Links to previous stages: [Pokeball] [2] [2.5]

Or something. xD
Again, just a suggestion, but obviously you don't have to take it! Just thought it might make it a bit easier on you. C:

Frankly I think Ras needs to be found so Sai can have a break...

Sai, you do an amazing job and I just don't want to see you burn out.

    Kuro - I could probably do that, but not any time soon. Since that's more of a visual thing with coding, I'll probably just group them together at some point by name and Pokemon species with thumbnails when I feel like doing graphics, fftt;

Though at the moment it's easier for me to look at them all laid out like that, especially when I'm drawing the new Pokemon so the poses don't clash. Not really sure;; I'll keep this in mind though.

    - Lmaooo, thank you. ; u;/

Events <3333

I think you should have a raffle 8D Whether it be for a single pokeball or two, or maybe like a raffle for points that you can accumulate for a custom like you do for the Sacvenger hunt.

Also Mini games, Its not overplayed but again, if you do a point accumlation you won't overwhelm yourself with having to do so many gijinkas

Or we could go traditional, and do a regular flat sale for maybe winter themed pokemon. Something with a winter-esque prompt. Not really dark and dreary or anything, just like, Its winter time and your gearing up, when your gijinka sees the snow outside BLAH BLAH BLAH LOL

Suggestion! owo

The rules state we're allowed to have three gijinka from the shop, but you can only get one flatsale, one custom, and win one in an auction.

Since funds can be tight for some people or they just not have those high priced items to sell to bid/bribe, that makes customs and auctions generally unobtainable or very hard to reach.

My suggestion is to keep the three-only rule, but perhaps let people have the option to win more than one flatsale instead of only one from each rule. o:

Like...You can win three FS and that's it. No custom or auction if you win three FS boys/girls (and maybe you can't enter a flatsale directly after one has happened, just to make it fair for others so...Every other flatsale you can enter?)

Or, to really mix it up, a mixture of the options perhaps. You can win two FS and one custom or two FS and one auction, etc etc. Mix and match. c: That way everyone has a shot to get three gijinka instead of only having people have only one while others have two or three.

(Sorry if this seems all over the place, but you're doing an awesome job Sai! >W< )

I have a suggestion, Saibby. Actually, it's kind of a question/suggestion.

I've been looking all over for requirements for growth/rehoming penalties that would occur from a lack of fulfilling said requirements, but I can't seem to find them. I know you've spoken of them, and I think it had something to do with just being active in the thread? I know your rules now say that they will be rehomed if you aren't active, but that's pretty vague. You said there were requirements that needed to be fulfilled or something like that to get them grown to the final stage? It would be a good idea to list the requirements somewhere (unless you have and I've just missed it, which I am prone to do orz).

UNLESS of course you have no specific requirements in mind, and only want us to come around the thread like I seem to have assumed so far. xD In which case, the rest of this probably doesn't concern you.

This way, there won't be any confusion when someone finds their gijinka is in danger of being rehomed, and it also would serve as a reminder for people that they need to come around and not just let their gijinka rot, lest they risk losing them.

However, as stated in the B/C rules, any pets obtained prior to you listing and establishing the actual requirements are not subjected to those rules. Which sucks in the event that the people disappear, but it's how it goes. :c But putting these requirements up and stating that a pet will be rehomed when these specific requirements are not fulfilled should help in preventing that.

If you've already got the requirements up somewhere, just smack me in the face and let me know. xDD I tried to look all over, but no luck so far, so... yus.

I know it isn't a lot at all to just ask us to come around the thread to keep our pets - that's got to be the minimum interaction anyone can ask, really. I guess I just want to know if you expected anything more out of owners. Of course I plan to roleplay, and of course I will be in the thread to terrify and horrify people, but vague rules can sometimes cause confusion.

I don't know what direction you wanted to go with them - make them RP required or not - so if it's just activity you're after, then that's fine. c: I just thought I'd seen you mention "requirements" for growth and got a little confused.

You're doing an awesome job, and I really appreciate all your hard work. <3 I know running a shop isn't easy, especially when you do as much as you do. So I'm sorry if my question is stupid or stresses you out. orz I LOVE YOU BABY.

Nyx - Ah.. Thank you for your suggestions, however they're a bit vague. I don't like to do raffles because they are minimum effort and I.. Just hate doing them. I don't like leaving things up to chance and I want to know people are going to put effort into winning their Pokemon. :C

Could you specify what type of minigames you'd like to see? And what do you mean by traditional flatsale? Speed, or prompt? I don't have trouble picking which Pokemon per event, but I do have problems coming up with something fun and new each time to distribute them through.

Thanks for taking the time to write for me. C:

Ravi - I've been thinking about this rule for a long time, but I haven't changed it because I want to distribute to a wider owner base for the moment. Which means flatsales will still be limited to one per person until there are more active players with us. Only then will I change the rules.

Semi-customs are actually not that hard to get so long as I can tell someone is dedicated and will love/work well with their character. They only need to take initiative to demonstrate that with me, and have a character that is unique or special in a manner that is appealing. It sounds harder than it is, but I have only seen one person so far who has taken that initiative. Admittedly, it is a little down-low and people don't know about this invisible 'semi-custom slot', but like I said, it's to reward those who are active and dedicated. I don't wish for a bunch of owners to fake their enthusiasm and disappear once they receive the Pokemon.

And as for pricing, they are only 45k. I do not take bribes from those who are active and loyal.

In saying so, I believe it was.. Vit who had mentioned switching up the three Pokemon rule. I have already been thinking on the subject and some of the customs slots will act as auction slots, so in a manner there is some leeway.

It really comes down to who is helping the shop along and who is not.

Logue - I have read the B/C rules before I set up 707, and up until then, the only four who did not apply to the rehoming rule is Kestrel, Aoi, Rai, and Nico. Rai is being rehomed due to an explicit request from his current owner, and is not being taken away without warning.

707 has never been an auto-growing B/C. The activity requirement has always been there-- and when I mentioned 'requirements', it is basically referring to that one rule. I just need to see some activity, some conversation in the thread or work in the journals. Something that demonstrates to me that the owners are still thinking about their characters. Even logs of IM roleplays or conversations will count.

There is no further set of rules or guidelines you need to adhere by.

Lately I've been feeling a little ripped off because I work extremely hard on the art but I grow them fairly quickly with little to no effort on the owner's parts. I think in this manner, people have begun to assume that these pets are auto-grow and they don't need to post or do anything dedicated in the shop. That's wrong, and it chips away at my integrity and judgment each time I see the thread so lifeless. Still, I worry about people being angry with me for not meeting deadlines that I've set for myself, that people have come to expect from me.

Every other B/C takes weeks and months to grow. The longest it's taken at 707? Three weeks.

I admit it's my fault for being so easily guilt tripped, and my own fault for not pacing things properly. Now I want to change and make it last longer. I want people to fill a quota of basic activity requirements. In Pokeboys, they have a month of activity for one stage. I might plan to do the same-- a little longer, or a little shorter. But nothing in the rules say I need to announce this. All I have said is that one must be active in the shop-- and that is precisely all I'm asking.

If I ever plan to rehome, I will give two week's notice before doing so. During that time, owners may redeem themselves. I try to be lenient but I'm not sure how long it will be before I take a more 'business' approach to the whole thing.

Let me know if you have any other concerns, and sorry if I didn't really answer your question. If it helps, there has never been an RP requirement for this shop and will probably stay that way.

No worries, I knew Rai was being rehomed by his owner's consent - I wasn't saying you were running your shop against the rules or anything.

I understand that the requirements for growth are very lenient, that's why I was looking for clarification as to whether or not there were other requirements I was missing. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

I know how you feel concerning the activity thing - it really, really sucks to see your pets go to waste. I'll admit, I'm guilty of fading in and out in several shops. A lack of inspiration/working/general life can pull me away from gaia or make it really, really hard to want to write or post around. I always feel terrible when that happens, but I never plan on letting any of my pets be killed off. That's a waste of art and a character that someone else could have loved and used.

I understand that you've been very stressed lately and haven't been feeling well, and I'm sorry for that. It wasn't my intention to add to your stress, and I was in no way criticizing your growth lengths or anything like that. You certainly grow them much faster than a lot of shops with unique line art, from what I've seen, but like you mentioned with Pokeboys, they take... what, a month? I think that approach would be less stressful for you, since it wouldn't require that you have all the stages done at once and make you feel rushed about the whole thing. Unless you prefer having them all done at once, which I can also understand.

I seriously doubt anyone would blame you for wanting to put a little more space between stages. Not as a 'punishment' or anything (I doubt anyone would see it that way, either), but just to give you some breathing room.

Sorry to hear about your food poisoning. My mom got it recently and it pretty much destroyed her. @_@ I really hope you feel better soon.

Sai: Nope its good that you tell us this though, so we know what to suggest while still keeping it in the comfortable bounds of what you want to happen.

It kinda of knocks out most of the Luck games.

There is a game I am thinking out but I'll work it out so that it doesn't rely wholly on luck.

To me though, Traditional flatsales are Prompt repsonse, Character creation and submission with the Flatsale price. While a lot of shops do them, sometimes I think its best if you always have that option, ESPECIALLY since you want a change to even out the distrubution of gijinkas.

if anything, you can fall back on that type of event.

Sorry I am kinda of Vague, i don't usually think things out all the time LOL

A quick little suggestion that I've been thinking about. Idunno if it's been brought up yet, and if it has then I apologize.

The "RP Event" for quest characters was obviously a load on your shoulders, Sai. It was really cool, though, to be able to flush out quest characters in RP form. What if it was turned into a subforum that was more like... Non-Canon RP, where people with quest characters would RP with other quest characters, or real characters in a sort of AU where all interactions didn't really happen in the shop until the character/s became canon? That way, if you were going to pick some of the quest characters to draw, you could see what they RPd like without actually having to put in the butt-load of time to RP individually with each of the questors.
