I just got my bottom braces on today, and I have to play tomorrow. I'm already in the bottom band, and I seriously don't want to get scolded for sounding bad.. How much will it affect my playing? I've just gotten used to hitting the high notes on my trumpet too....

In my opinion bottom braces aren't as bad to play with as top braces. Braces suck a lot, but after a week or so with some practicing you'll build up some endurance and it won't be too bad playing with them... Just aim for a good sound while you practice and don't push for those high notes. They'll come back with time

You can also buy these things that go over your braces so they won't hurt when you play. It won't affect your sound as long as you wear those for a few weeks.
