Potions !
At hogwarts: Potions is described as the art of creating mixtures with magical effects. It requires the correct mixing and stirring of ingredients at the right times and temperatures. It is related to Chemistry, but with a more sinister twist. As to the question of whether a Muggle could brew a potion, given the correct magical ingredients, Rowling has said, "Potions seems, on the face of it, to be the most Muggle-friendly subject. But there does come a point in which you need to do more than stir." Snape's lessons are depicted as unhappy, oppressing times set in a gloomy dungeon in the basement of the castle, whilst Slughorn's, who replaces Snape as Potions Master, is shown as more cheerful and even fun at times.

Hello there. I'm Professor Akahana.
I prefer not to waste time giving you syllabii and other useless papers, HOWEVER, I have decided to issue a warning. Potions is a dangerous subject. A solution to cure boils (which, consequently will be our first potion) can turn into a potion that GIVES you boils with just a single foul-up, whether you added the wrong ingredient or perhaps added the ingredient at the wrong time. So I caution you all NOT TO MESS AROUND. Hijinks will not be tolerated in this class as it can end MOST unhappily with a faceful of stinging boils or perhaps a missing digit!
The consequence for such behavior will vary depending upon the mischief. You may have detention scrubbing cauldrons, you may become my guinea pig to test a potion, OR, you may be sent to see the Headmaster.
Now, to pique your interest in the class. I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death...so long as you aren't sleeping in the back of the room like an idiot.
I encourage all of my students to ask questions. No question is too stupid to ask...unless you ask me my real age, then I'm going to have to throttle you.
And so, with that out of the way, welcome to your demis---I mean, your first year of potions. >3

RULES:
1. Follow Gaia ToS.
2. Follow all Hogwarts rules, set by Headmistress Sing.
3. Please use the English language in my dungeon. No u's r's c's...no l337 speak or however it's spelled, I don't care, I don't use it, neither will you when I'm teaching.
4. Homework is to be posted neatly, preferably double-spaced so I can read it. It's not required, but when you do it, you will be given 35 house points per assignment.
5. FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS. I'd hate to overload the hospital wing with wastes of oxygen.
6. Treat your fellows as you would wish to be treated.
(I do my best to be on every day, but as I am employed at Walmart and they are slave drivers, it's hard. If I am on, I'm usually either on from 7:00 am to 10:00 am EST or 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm EST.)

THE POINT SYSTEM
I've decided to implement my very own points system. Whoever has the highest grade at the end of the month will be given a prize!
Homework assignments are considered extra credit and are worth 35 points.
Potion assignments are mandatory and are worth 25 points.
The points for each student are to be shown below, and I will do my best to keep this list current!
More points will be added after our next assignment.
Points have reset, and I'm starting everyone off with 10 points.
Prizes can be different potions, gold, or items on gaia. (Depends on the cash I have on hand at the time, kiddies, which usually tends to be not very much. So, be prepared for a crap-ton of fun potions. lmao)
THE NOVEMBER PRIZE, ONE SMALL PHIAL OF FELIX FELICIS, GOES TO liveXdarkheartXevil.
