~Yasogami High School~(Gouma-Den)

One of the largest structures and most important locations in Inaba, Yasogami High School rests at the far end of the Samegawa Flood Plain from the Downtown and Residential Areas. The High School itself is no different from any other normal Japanese High School, with Grades 10-12, and up to three Homerooms for each year. The Classrooms are divided by floor, with First Years on the First Floor, Second Years on Second Floor, Third Years on Third Floor, and a rooftop with a beautiful view of the Inaba Area.

Adjacent to the Main Building are the Club Building and the Athletic Fields, which serve as the primary after-school destination for most Yasogami Students. Offering a variety of clubs from Drama to Music to Basketball and even Soccer, Yasogami is a comfortable den of learning for your average, small town student.

Or rather, it would be if this wasn't the Gouma-Den. As such, the once crowded and well kept school is in shambles, the paint faded, and the air thick with a decayed musk. The building has been abandoned, save for the vicious demons, waiting to pounce any surprise guests for their next meal. The Drama is still present, though not in a way originally intended....

Mataki Hito
Student Council President

A vicious pillar of ice ripped through a Pixie, spearing the weak monster upwards as it met it's final end in a none-too-civil manner. He knew he wasn't going to be the strongest person in this world, but he still had enough talents to erase something like the festival fairy from existence quickly enough, and he caught the chip loosely in his palm as it trickled down to him, before clasping it firmly. "Trapped inside of a world without hope, huh? Even my castle has been deteriorating to such a state...tch." Mataki looked at Yasogami High, a bit less awe-inspiring than it use to be. "Well then, inside this world I guess I'll just have to rebuild it, and protect this castle from intruders. I'll never let Yasogami fall into such disgrace, ever...again..." Mataki said, placing a simple vow upon the land. From now on this area was his, and he would watch over it with peace as his guide. Whatever the rest of the mad experiment was, was irrelevant...and if he won this competition guarding his sanctum alone, then so be it.

Chie Satonaka

Just what was going on?! Chie was asking herself this, not really in the mood to fight but wanted to investigate just what in the world happened here? She growled out in some frustration when some wind started to come her way from the thing, the Sylph that had decided to pursue her. Well, she's not going to be putting up with this, no way! Chie grinned at the card that hovered before her then gave it a swift kick with a complimentary yell as her persona came around to unleash a powerful blow of Bufula on the thing. With a cry out by the strike of the merciless ice, Sylph succumbed to the blow that ripped through it. The demon met its end and Chie gave off a bit of a sigh and placed her hands on her hips. "Too easy." she said with some victorious pride going in her voice. She saw the chip that escaped from the easy foe, the short-haired girl clasping it in her hand and looked at it. "Huh, so we collect these things?" she lifted it up and tilted her head. "But what for?" she said to herself before she looked behind her. The school was close, right? She was hoping that others were fine as well in this whole mess that she got herself in without warning. Just what was with this competition, she didn't know. And as the girl ran closer to see the ruins of the school looking like it had seen better days, she came to terms that she wasn't liking this one bit. "Oh!" But what was this? A figure? She can recognize that purple anywhere. "Hito!" She called out, giving a wave. Something uneasy was going over her, though... was this..the part where they had to fight?

"Ms. Satonaka...welcome." Mataki said, silhouetted with his back to her and the school behind him, a stark contrast of the ruined building and the tall, thin student. His good rapport should have been enough to help appease Chie's unease, though the background was more than a little dreadful, but when he turned and smiled at her it should have done enough to cure her worries; or, unnerve her considering the way he seemed to blend in so calmly. Of course she couldn't know that this was a Demon World, and he was a Demon, but to him the air was unusually peaceful to the tainted power in his soul, and that made him an admirable ally to any wandering it's domain. "Come to help me build our Paradise anew? You know one of the most common rules when lost is to find something recognizable. Soon, more than just the two of us should arrive, hoping to meet up with their friends who disappeared." Mataki said, raising one of his hand with it's palm open towards Chie, and slowly closing his fingers around it, as if grasping an item, or...beckoning her to come in. "A place where all our lives entwine, is the perfect place to build a castle against this world's evil, isn't it? We can protect Yukiko, and the others! Interesting concept, isn't it?" Mataki said, clearly offering Chie the chance to align with him together. If they were to play a survival game in this world, wandering hopelessly amongst Demons would get you nowhere. Obtaining the power to command them, and everything, while rejecting enemies with a focused balance of power...that was a much more logical approach.

Chie Satonaka

The girl tilted her head some, though she felt herself loosen up when the Class President smiled back to her and offered up an alliance. Well, it did make some sense, actually... and to see if the others would be alright while in a team was way better than being alone, that was for sure. With a grin to Mataki, a demon without her knowing, she gave him and and started towards him. Sure he talks a little funny here and there, but she still understood where he was going with this in the end. If anythign were to happen like demons suddenly emerging, she'll be sure to give them a run for their money! "Yeah, you're right." She said with a smile, kicking her feet for a moment before she turned her head to look behind her then back to look at the school in ruins.

"You look pretty calm for this monster filled place, Hito." she pointed out, placing her hands in her pockets. It gave her enough hint that perhaps he's dealt with these things before. "Not the first time?" she asked as she went to the door of the school and tried to open up and twist the rusted handles. That wasn't going to work... she took in a breath then readied herself before she gave a swift kick right into it to force open the door. "I bet there's more of those around." said Chie with a 'huff' and rub at her nose, speaking about the demons that might be lingering around, still.

"I don't know what's around, but hopefully any local animals will be able to give us a warning if someone else approaches." Mataki said, following Chie and stopping at the door, which he quickly lifted and, with a sigh, put back in place. "For the record, this world might be a shadow of the real one but..." A jingling alerted Chie to the keyring that Mataki was holding, and that swiftly slid into the broken door's lock. "I think we can still try to avoid making a ruckus, right?" Mataki said with a sweat drop, smiling at Chie again. As far as the comment on his peaceful nature went, he didn't have much to say to her on her reaction...in fact, once her initial suspicion passed, she'd probably settle in to a more logical conclusion, whether because he usually approached things quietly and analytically, or because he was busy contemplating their next step. Thoughts were fleeting, and for the time being he was merely following her lead around here, minus the ideas he was suggesting. "What were you talking about before anyways? Monsters? I've been keeping my cool in this strange place because it looks similar at least but, is there something I should be worried about Ms. Satonaka...?" Mataki asked, waiting to hear her own side of things, and perhaps learn of her experiences or battles. Then again, she could be vague, and attempt to keep him in the dark, like the Investigation Team had done all along. He'd prefer to play the clueless normal person for the time being, but in the end he would take action. Once things had fallen into place, he might be able to use his power for the betterment of everybody, and not just thoughtlessly lunge into altercations like the Investigation Team and Black Messengers had done time and time again. He didn't choose between Kazuma or Soji, the black or white...in the end, protecting what was most important to him was all he wanted, and the method to achieving that didn't fall into trivialities between good and evil, or the hopeless battle that led to their climax.

"It looks like a typhoon hit this place. I guess everything is just as he described. Which means I'll have to put my weight into restoring it." Mataki mumbled, finding Chie nowhere in the vicinity. It seemed like he was alone for now, but with the Student Council Room as his headroom, his kingdom would begin to form once more.
