 It had been a few weeks now since his parents had left him for dead. Yet oddly enough he hasn't died yet. This pup was determined to live, determined to prove his parents wrong. He didn't know why they had left him, some mutation of the back it sounded like. Though whenever he looked over his shoulder at his back all he saw was a bit of bone, just like his parents. They were a bit different, yet still weren't they the same. His parents had bones along their backs as well. He really couldn't understand it at all.
Zakiax, was his name, Zak for short. It was a name his parents didn't give him but one he thought up his own. He could live on his own quite well, even though he was a bit underfed. The only things he had been able to catch was small creatures. Closing his eyes he let his sense of smell take over, yet it was his stomach which ruined his concentration. He began to wonder how long it had been since one of his 'hunts' had been successful. He had lost track of the number of days. Time didn't matter to him, as long as he survived until the next sunrise he was quite satisfied.
Unfamiliar smells reached his nose. Just how far had he traveled from the place which he made home. It had been a day or two since he had gone back there. Shaking his head he tried concentrating once more trying to find some prey to fill his growling stomach. The sound of movement reached his ears, causing them to flick in that general direction. He couldn't tell who or what it was. The scent to him was unfamiliar. Yet he didn't want to be caught surprised so the pup moved itself into the brush, concealing it black mutated body among the dead brush.

Star stood still, she smelt a young one, but did not see it. She had just found one the other day named Roze, she wondered why this one was alone, she new it was around here somewhere, she didn't want to scare it. "Where are you young one?" She sniffed, and guessed he was to her right, but she chose to pretend not to know. "Don't be scared young one, I am a friend, not foe, answer me now." She sat, waiting for a response.

Normally a low growl would have escaped him, but he didn't want to give his position away to this adult. This was going to be a problem. He saw this female as yet another adult who thought they 'knew' what was best for him. Just like his parents. He kept his eyes on her for the most part watching her actions.
Once more he gave a small glance over his shoulder at the bone popping out of his back. He saw no difference between himself and the female before him. Still she had more, did his parents abandon him because he didn't have enough bone popping action?The more he thought about it the more confused he was becoming.
Maybe he should just out right ask. Shaking his head to this idea, refusing it in the instant it came to mind. He couldn't trust her nor a word she said, adults were not to be trusted. This time a low growl escaped him, giving her the warning to back off. Just like his parents he believed everyone else would judge him.

She heard the low growl, could he be injured. She smelt the air, no blood. This is the first time the cub she finds resists her. Maybe he is still part of a pack. "Young one, I am here to protect you, no need to be scared, unless your pack is just hunting? But I would never leave a pup alone like this." She knew where he was, but wouldn't let him know it. "If you need a family, That's what my pack needs, more family. We have we have 4 others, 1 being a cub like you." My name is Star, shooting star, but you can call me star.
She moved a little closer then sat down. "young one, I am not here to kill you, I will take care of you like my own, so whatever is bugging you, no need to worry." She wondered if he wanted to be alone? "I have food at my place if you are hungry, it's very fresh." She sighed waiting to see if he will come out from where he was hiding.

Shadow Seeker gave once more low growl. He had no pack, nor did he need any family. He wanted to be alone, he could live quite fine by himself. The young male couldn't trust this female, not one bit, getting him to trust someone would be quite a challenging task.
Though the talk of food did deepen the hunger in his stomach, only reminding him how long it has been since he actually had a decent meal. Taking one step backwards, the pup then fled the scene keeping to the shadows of the trees. He'd find somewhere else to hunt, to fill his own stomach. Zak felt he needed no help in taking care of himself.

Hearing the pup run made feel annoyed. She runs home(it being only 20 mins away walking speed), grabs the boar in her mouth then ran back to the spot, sniffing her way to the young one. She had an idea this was a boy. the boys scent was strong, he was not cleaning himself properly after eating. She drops the left over boar and kicked it near where she sensed he was.
"Young one, you are not cleaning yourself properly, wolves will sniff you out and eat you." She sat down again. "Why are you resisting me, don't you want to be apart of a pack, I bet you would be so helpful in mine. We call it flames fury , or just ff I dunno what we really call it, it's just a name and you can help fix it. My pack is small, We need all the help we can get. You will be respected and loved if you come with me." She laid down resting her head on her paws. "Can I just see if you are okay? If you don't want to be apart of my pack, then be a friend to my pack, we will protect you."
Star knew this cub was hungry, she knew he wasn't trained yet, not well enough to be on his own. She waited for a response. "Either way the food is yours."

The pup hadn't stopped he continued to move, as quickly as his little legs could carry him. After a while of running his pace slowed his breathing heavy. He had wasted more energy trying to get away then he had planned on it. Yet it seemed that this adult was still persistent. Just what part of no, did she not understand?
His ears perked up as she started to talk once again, he was beginning to find her annoying just like every other adult he met, always knowing what was best for him. But boy did that leftover meat smell good, it made his mouth water. It wasn't before long that he had inched his way out of the bushes, though he quickly took the boar meat and dragged it back into the bushes, tearing away at the tender meat with his jaws.

Star seen the lil pup take the food and smiled. "I'm glad you are eating young one. You look a lil thin. You know, if you came with me, you would eat very well every day." She closed her eyes. "I was like you when I was a pup, couldn't trust anyone. But you know, I lost out on the friends I could have made. Young one, you can trust me, I will not let anyone harm you." She laughed. "Young one, i think i really like you, you are like a little me" Then sat quietly.
"I bet you are thirsty, do you know where the lake is? If not tell me, I will bring you there." She felt a little sad, wondering if she would ever have pups of her own. She didn't pick someone to be her love mate, but she could still mate with anyone she felt like. She shook her head then looked towards the pu, wanting to hug him. She really wanted to be a mother.

Zakiax watched her curiously from the corner of his eye as he tore off the meat from the corpse with his teeth. The skin of the boar was quite tough but the meat underneath was tender. He listened to her speak, trying to comprehend the words she was saying. A few he recognized others well the others not so much. The little pup ate his fill, mainly until it seemed like his tiny belly was bulging from the rest of him.
He licked his paws clean, cleaning the blood off of them. Ears twitching the pup rose to his feet. "Find," he spoke finally, poking his head from under the brush. Mainly wanting to do everything himself. Trying to tell her that he would find it himself when he needed it. The brush rustled as he moved through it, once more exposing his full self to the adult. He began to move, moving in the direction completely opposite of the lake.

"Can I show you where I live, so if you get scared or lonely, you can come in no problem? I bet you would like my friends. What do you think about that?" She moved closer to see what he wouldd do. "I just want to look out for you, if you want, I can show you my old house I used as well, so I know you are out of the rain and warm, it's inside a hollow tree, very comfy."

He stopped in mid-step. He knew that word, 'live' usually he translated it as 'home', well often in his mind. Lets see now what direction did his home reside in. A confused look seemed to come to the young pup's face, wondering exactly where it was. He couldn't remember, indeed he was lost from where he had started out. "Home" he murmured still thinking about it. "Um...Find." After that he continued forth, still on the look out for that lake she had mentioned.

"fallow me to the lake" She started towards the lake. "Its not far from my home, Everyone in my pack would love you, I would love you if you joined. You would be a special member, because you are like me." She smiled as she reached the lake. "This water is fresh and clean." She frowned looking at him, wondering if he wanted to be a rogue, she worried more and more. "Please come with me to my home, it will be your home if you want, or just stay with us for awhile. We have a pup around your age, her name is Roze." She hoped he would agree to come.

Zakiax stopped and watched as she moved in the opposite direction he was going. "Find," he repeated, really wanting to do these things for himself. Yet she kept insisted on showing him, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to follow her. He decided he should try it for a bit, this family thing, after all he couldn't let the past keep him from attempting to make friends. Turning around he began to follow her.
((Feels we can end it here and then start another where he meets the rest of the pack. Its up to you though.))
