Since the weather had cleared up considerable since the major storm, Ebony had decided to go outside and tend to the job of cleaning up the utter mess the yards and greenhouse were in. Meanwhile Cordelia was still inside, toiling away at her violin again. Having been stuck inside for as long as they had and without television, the girl had very little else to do other than tend to her studies. Something she was most grateful for now. All that studying was paying off. Her reading and writing were quickly picking up as was her violin playing. She almost felt silly now thinking back on how she'd complained to Ebby before. Her woman had been right, everything came with time.
It was while she was heading back up to her room to put her instrument away did she notice the blinking light on the answering machine. Delia tilted those loose lavender locks, positively puzzled. Had someone called? She hadn't heard the phone ring. Either the girl had been too absorbed in her playing or the music had simply drowned the sound out. Either way she shrugged and pressed the button, wondering whom it was.
Now normally Cordelia was very careful with her precious string, but upon hearing the dullness of Aphismet's voice as he suppressed whatever emotions he was feeling while explaining to them that Rivener was injured and in the hospital, Delia couldn't help dropping it as a horrified gasp gripped her. Without word or even care to replace the violin to it's proper place, the girl fled straight out of the house.
Since she couldn't drive, Ebby refusing to teach her legs or not, Cordelia had to take the train with what little money she had on her at the time. Every stop between Gambino and Durem drove her positively batty, eyes glaring and feet tapping impatiently as they crept to her final destination. Once in Durem, the purple haired youth bounded from the train like a bullet from a gun, knocking a few loading passengers down as she did. She could care less, a friend was hurt!
It took several tries before she found the hospital, even more to find his room since running about and calling 'Riven' was obviously not the correct method in finding the scorpion faster. It wasn't until some orderlies had managed to stop her and after she breathlessly tired to describe the Sigel, his real name having flown the coup of her mind then, that they pointed her in the right direction. Without thinking, Cordelia burst through the door and fell onto the side of Rivener's bed. She didn't stop to think that maybe he was sleeping, that maybe there were others there to visit him too. No, all that mattered was that Delia was finally here to see her friend.
Tanned face red as a tomato and tears flooding down from her silver pools, the girl managed to sob the night Raevan's name. "RIVEN!" Breathing in gulps of air as her British laced voice hitched heavily, "Are...y-you...okay?"

Rivener had been asleep, alone in the hospital room, when the door burst open to admit a flurry of tears and purple hair that threw itself at him, draping over the side of the bed low enough that Riv's body mercifully wasn't actually jostled. He flinched awake and blinked at the woman, blearily at first. The sleep cleared from his eyes and his vision focused properly, but the confusion only got worse. A puzzled frown pulled Riv's brows down.
This was-... Ebony? B-but only one person in the whole world called him Riven...
"...Dells?" He asked carefully, tilting his head at her. "Is that you?"
Confused to say the very least, Rivener waited for an answer before his mind would be able to process anything else.

She sobbed an answer into his hospital sheets as she gripped them so tight her knuckles turned white. The girl, in her flurry, had briefly seen the state the scorpion was in and didn't want to really face him now to find it true, that he was indeed mortally wounded. Yet she also knew he couldn't have possibly heard a word she'd said, what with her crying and muffled voice.
Still sniffling, Cordelia slowly lifted her blood shot, waterlogged eyes towards Rivener. She winced slight at seeing him all bandaged up like that and fought down another series of sobs threatening to escape her. Since she didn't trust her voice to keep stable enough, surely to betray her the moment she spoke, Delia simply nodded in answer to the Sigel's flummoxed questions.

Rivener wasn't quite sure what to do in this situation. What definitely looked like Ebony was sobbing into his bed, unable to put two words together... The Scorpion's free hand was hovering half-way to that head of purple hair, not quite willing to bridge that last gap. He was not friends with Ebony, he didn't feel he should be patting her head to still her crying... But if this was really Delia inside the human's body, then there'd be a million questions to answer.
Time dragged on as the woman sobbed and sniffled, and Riv could only shift in uncomfortable silence, eventually dropping his hand to his lap and clearing his throat. This was extremely awkward.
Eventually Ebony's head lifted to nod, and Riv floundered for a moment to recall his question. ...Ah, this WAS Delia?! The Scorpion's face quirked into bafflement and he finally did put his hand on that purple hair, stroking softly. "Hey, no more crying, I'm fine. I'm fine, Dells. ...Uh, why are you Ebony?"

When his hand finally connected with the top of her head and he gently tried to coax her back to a more stable place of being, Delia breathed in shakily and nodded, feeling immediate relief at the touch and his words. She was truly glad he was fine, but it didn't help to see him like this. Perhaps she should have waited to visit, but what if it had been much worse and she never got her chance to...no no NO! That purple head shook in defiance of her negative thoughts and quite furiously she buried her face back into his sheets, angry at herself and her inability to keep herself calm like Riv was already trying so hard to do. He shouldn't be comforting her, she should be comforting him after all!
Cordelia heard his somewhat confused question, but it was a long time once more before she lifted her head back up and answered. When she did, her dark cheeks burned bright with embarrassment. In her haste to see the elder Raevan, Delia had completely forgotten that she was running around in someone else's body. A human body for that matter.
After meeting his crimson gaze for a moment, her silver pools cast themselves downward to her hand as it lightly pick at the lint on his covers. Quietly she murmured, "I don't know why. We just woke up one day like this."

Rivener was starting to feel like he was dreaming or something. This was all too weird and crazy to be real, and that was definitely saying something. Delia-Ebony kept sobbing, shaking her head, and going through all these emotions on her own so fast that the Sigel was left wondering what the heck he should do. She was so upset over this! Self-consciously the Scorpion looked down at himself, wondering if something had happened while he slept; reopened stitches, new bruising, messy hair maybe? But no, he looked the same as always with his stupid green hospital gown, bandages, and splint.
Just as this was getting into ridiculously awkward and uncomfortable territory, where Riv considered calling the nurses so he wouldn't be alone with a hysterical woman, Dells finally sat up and replied to his question... Though it wasn't much of a reply at all.
"...You just... Woke up like that. Uh, a long time ago? Maybe I could..." He'd need starlight to listen to, and that was in short supply in this hospital. Riv had needed to feed solely off human food since he got here. But he could try to look for an answer later, when he got out, if this was still a problem. At any rate, it gave him something to talk about that would hopefully not result in another strange, Ebony-Delia bout of sobbing. "U-uh, I'll try to help once I get out of here, okay? Dells? Cheer up, 'kay?" He smiled uneasily. It was just so odd to be talking like this with Ebony's body!

Delia continued to pick at the lint, existent or not it was just easier to compose herself when she wasn't looking directly at her friend's broken body. She didn't know if she had any special powers for healing or anything, but if she were a Raevan again at least it wouldn't be so awkward as it seemed to be for Rivener to speak to her then.
"Ebby says she's working on it, but...I think she just tells me that to keep me from worrying. If I don't know how we got like this, then how would she?" The girl had the courage to finally look him in the face and his smiling made her smile too, but it wasn't the same Delia inspired grin. It was too saddened, too tight to be the youth's. She was trying though, to cheer up like Riven had suggested, but it was hard when she knew he had to be in pain.
Try she did though, to push past this bout of gloom looming over her. Carefully she fingered the material of his hospital gown. Normally she loved green, but this pale mint shade of the glorious color was utter fail. Why would a hospital ever use such a shade? It was a little depressing. "This color doesn't suit you." Then she finally asked what she'd been wondering the whole ride from Gambino to Durem. "Riven? What happened to you? Why are you here?"

Rivener shrugged a shoulder as Delia mused about how Ebony might know things. The human might have a clue her usually half-bodied ward wouldn't be aware of, Rivener could believe that... Hopefully they wouldn't be stuck like this much longer. But if he could help them, he'd try. Once he got out, that is. Until then, he was trapped and helpless, as much as Dells herself.
The girl suddenly began examining Rivener's hospital gown, and her declaration of it not being his color made the Sigel chuckle fondly. "That's exactly what Zul said," he mumbled, grinning in remembrance. Word for word, that's what he'd said. How amusing. At least it served to make the Scorpion instantly at ease, his mind filling with the happy memory that he was loved after all. He hadn't lost his precious Flower. The Scorpion's smile didn't sway as he finally answered the girl.
"I just got into an accident at work, Dells. Someone shot me. With a gun." He actually wasn't sure she knew what a gun was, but he figured she'd ask if she wasn't clear. "It's nothing life-threatening anymore, the doctors were very good. I'm all patched up and healing now, I'm going to be fine in a few months, good as new. So no need to worry yourself to tears for me, okay? I'm going to be aaaaall better." He stroked at her hair still, red eyes soft.

She watched as he laughed and his expression light up ten fold when talking about Zul. Delia tilted her head curiously as she remembered the last time the two had been arguing or something. She smiled a little brighter this time, happy that the two had made up. Of course her smile faded back once more when Rivener explained what had happened. Of course she knew what a gun was, her recent expedited studies had greatly widened her knowledge and understanding of the world from what it previously had been. Or at least...she'd thought it was that. But now that she thought about it more, was it possible that being human was what was helping her to achieve this sudden leap in mental growth? After all, even though it was her mind driving this body, physically it was Ebony's brain. A brain that was far more developed than her Raevan one. Would she lose this time, these achievements later when she went back to being herself?
Delia was beginning to agitate herself again, but was interrupted by Riv's playful tug on her locks. "Hey!" she whined, swatting at the Sigel's good hand. Though she frowned it was most evident in Cordelia's eyes that she wasn't truly upset, but she was still worried about him no matter what he said.
"Well I'm glad you're going to be okay." the girl replied as she smoothed down her lavender hair. "So, Zul came to visit? How was that?" She could only imagine that the demon was just as upset as she'd been. Probably even more judging by his and Riven's very close relationship.

Rivener chuckled as his hand was batted away, letting the limb drop back to his lap so he could rest. Dells' choice of a topic then was rather surprising, bringing up Zul like that... Ah, hadn't she known he and Rivener were in a tiff, a while back? How sweet of her to ask. The Scorpion smiled fondly and tilted his head, glancing at the bouquet of red roses on his nightstand. "He brought me those... we hadn't been speaking in a while, because of-... some silly things, I suppose. So when he came to see me it was the first time in a while that we talked, and it was, uhm." He wondered how he should explain it. His smile was beaming and bright by the time he settled on a word for it. "It was perfect."
But he didn't want to be discussing only his relationship with Zul (of which he still wasn't 100% certain. They were better, yes, but they hadn't discussed being an item or not), so he glanced at the human body Delia inhabited. "You're like the first Raevan ever to have a full body, you know that? Even though it's not yours... What's it like? Do you have to eat human food? Go to the bathroom? Ugh, gross." Riv laughed, amused. He wouldn't find it so funny if he were the one going through all this... and at which point he shuddered in memory of what he'd once seen. "Guh, be damned thankful you're not in a MAN'S body. Yuck."

Cordelia nodded and finally gave a genuine grin towards the beautiful array of red flowers by the bedside. Zul surely had a way about him for making others feel better. "Good. I don't like you two fighting. It doesn't seem right."
She would have been happy to listen to him prattle on and on about the flame and creme haired Frei, after all Zul was her friend too and she liked to know how he was doing, but Riv had other ideas. Delia blinked and carefully viewed herself, trying to see it like he was. She sighed, rolling her stormy eyes. "It's weird. I hate having to eat so much and so often. And Ebby won't let me eat what I want, only healthy stuff cause she doesn't want me "ruining" her body. The bathroom stuffs annoying and gross too."
Delia looked down to her feet then. He couldn't see because of his position and because of her shoes, but the youth was wiggling her toes. A tiny smile began to break up that scowl. "It's not all bad though. It's fun getting to wear different kinds of clothes. And shoes! I really like shopping for shoes." She grinned big, really happy now. "The best thing is not having people stare at you like you're going to kill them or something. Ebby seems to do well with that though. Ignoring people." She laughed, knowing that Riv would probably get why and maybe laugh with her.
"A man's body? But...you're a man...right?" She looked at him quizzically then. Everything about him screamed male, but sometimes you couldn't be so sure. "What would be so wrong with that?"

Rivener groaned in sympathy when Delia told him she couldn't eat everything she wanted. That would indeed suck. Riv himself knew he'd have to watch what he ate when he finally got a full body... He didn't want his to be "ruined" either. But poor Dells could have at least tried a few things while she had this chance! Maybe Riv should suggest she sneak out and go on a binge or something. Just one wouldn't hurt!
Dells' sudden love for shoes made Rivener chuckle, and the comment about ignoring people drew a full laugh. Oh, he understood alright! He often got those looks himself, as did most Raevans, probably. Thank goodness Ebony was mature enough to keep her temper and not get Delia's body in trouble.
The topic returned to the whole male body thing, and Rivener smirked slyly to have himself pointed out as a man. He snickered and looked down at himself. "Oh, I'm definitely a man. And I am definitely not looking forward to having a full body. I mean, I think I'd like buying different clothes, like you said... there are all these cool-looking pants I already want. But ugh, I saw pictures and videos of men's bodies naked, and it looks just-... gross and uncomfortable and inconvenient." He made a face, glancing aside. "Girls are smooth and pretty, but guys... I am NOT looking forward to it." He sighed, frowning. His life was going to be difficult as a Valsaros, if he ever got there: he'd be male, and his lover is also male. Floppy fish everywhere. He shuddered.

The girl started to blush when Rivener's rambling turned towards naked men. She was starting to read between the lines and finally get what he was talking about without him having to flat out say it. Her cheeks burned red hot in embarrassment at where her thoughts lead her. She'd not told anyone, not even Ebby, but lately she couldn't help noticing and appreciating the form of some of the men she'd seen. It stirred feelings she wasn't really old enough to truly understand and at the same time it made her feel like she should be ashamed or something. Reason enough to not say a word to anyone she figured.
Though she vaguely understood what the bed-ridden scorpion talked about, not having seen it for herself but knowing enough to not feel completely naive, Delia just nodded sympathetically towards his obvious distaste for what he'd eventually become. If that was indeed how the Raevans progressed that is. They wouldn't know for sure until one of them grew again.
Battling down the heat that rested within her face, Cordelia cleared her throat and directed her eyes else where other than Riven's eyes. "It's not all smooth and pretty you know." Of course she knew, how could she not living in Ebony's body for awhile now. But like the Sigel, she wasn't exactly keen on sharing the finer points of what lay beyond the waist. He was older, so he'd probably understand better than she anyway.
Decisively, Cordelia changed the subject in hopes of lessening this somewhat uncomfortable conversation. "Where's Aphi?" her purple hair whipping around as she looked, finally realizing the lack of a white haired human.

Wow, blushing like that?? Rivener didn't think Delia would know what he was talking about, but that blush was unmistakable. The Scorpion blushed himself and cleared his throat softly, glancing aside. Aaaawkward, he thought to himself, damned glad when Dells changed the subject. Although he WAS curious what she meant by girls not always being smooth and pretty. Had Rivener seen wrong? ...Not that he'd ask, of course!
Talking about Aphi was MUCH easier. Riv smiled sheepishly and looked back at the woman, shrugging a shoulder. "He must be at work, or at home looking after things. It's kind of all a big mess lately, you know. Oh, our house flooded, did you know? We don't live in that big house in the marsh anymore. It got all destroyed during the storm. We bought a house closer to Durem, in the outskirts. It's really cool, you should come visit sometime! My room's really awesome, there's these windows in the ceiling, so I can see the sky at night." Talking about this was DEFINITELY easier than the other stuff, hell yes.
