Generation Five is well on it's way to being made and we already have glimpses of the Pokemon and new moves that are being used in Japan currently.
So, should we use Gen 5 in the guild taking into account from what you've seen of it now?

Note: This is not a final decision and will be discussed more in depth when Gen 5 really does come out.

AND DONT BE COMPLETE JERKS TO EACHOTHER HERE!
Being rude to another member based on their ideals an such will result in an instant ban.

Hope we're allowed to speak here and if not feel free to delete this; though since I don't exactly have full access to the chat I think this should be my fair chance to express my opinion to the rest of the community.

Hypothetical situation time:
Some young kid joins, roughly 8-10 years old (When I first actually got into the games in the 3rd gen despite the fact I owned all since Red.) and his/her first game was of the new series, thus all his favorite Pokemon are from there. He/she's surprisingly literate and would be a benefit to the community but the problem is that he/she won't join without the specific starter Pokemon they want that we just happened to ban.

I'm not saying that we all have to immediately like the newer Pokemon (I sure as hell know I don't); but do we really have to take the opportunity away from someone else who may? I mean it's not like they're going to pick the ugliest new Pokemon around that we have to stare at day after day. As far as I know we hadn't banned the last gen because no one likes Probopass.

Ehh...All I have to say to this. Sorry for being melodramatic; sick and cranky over here.

I say that the logical thing to do is, when the games come out in English, start allowing the Pokemon, moves, items and whatever else new stuff in the guild. That way we don't make false assumptions on any names.

I don't like most of them, but then again, I can't stand Probopass and it's allowed. They're Pokemon, just like those we're using now. They shouldn't be banned because it would be, for lack of a better word, discrimination and just not right.

edit: And for the most part, the actual change? Minimal. Nobody in their right mind likes half of those Pokemon anyway, and the new abilities/moves don't really mean much either.

After actually seeing the sprites I'm not sure if I want them or not anymore. The legendary pokemon are awful and there's only a gem or two in the entire release. Unless the image compilation I have is incomplete.

It would still be nice to have an updated gen 5 move list, though. As well as items and the lot, of course.

Still, no reason to ignore them so early on.

The real consideration is how we'd phase them in. Do we go with a "they were always there" story, or is it a sort of "they just showed up" or "they moved in" or...?

I do, in fact think that generation five should be included within the guild, but I believe there may be somethings that need to be touched upon, simply because of the situation with the generation five Pokemon.

For example; generation five Pokemon are supposed to exist on an entirely different continent from the others, and thus it would make sense that they were not in the same area as the current four generations. Quite possibly, introducing their arrival in a chapter? Or if someone wanted them to join their team, maybe they were would to venture to areas overseas? It's a tricky thing to figure out, but it's important to consider, at least.

I, like Amber, Cysic, and Kyle before me, do think that it wouldn't be right to stop people from using the fifth generation. Although there aren't a lot of fifth generation that most of us seem to like, there are a few, and on top of that, opinions, likes, and dislikes vary from person to person.

On top of this; the new abilities and moves. Those moves and abilities will become incorporated into the world of Pokemon everywhere; it would be near impossible to remember every Pokemon's fifth generation moves and abilities, and keep them out. It just wouldn't work, and they might be beneficial to the roleplayers, with new powers and so much to choose from. I honestly know, that I would find it incredibly cool to possibly be able to bring in new moves for the team members I already have.

So. in conclusion, I think that generation five should be included. For the people who like the Pokemon, it's unfair to them. The moves and abilities could be useful, and offer new choices to roleplayers. And not allowing the fifth generation just doesn't make sense as a whole.

Just adding a little onto Luna's idea. Not really sure where the guild's location is on the continent in comparison to the nearest shore, but maybe Gen 5 Pokes can have like an island all their own which hasn't been discovered until now? A few simple dungeons should do and once they start arriving on teams and such that should explain away how they end up in event eggs and whatnot. Hope this solves the problem of awkwardly shoving them into places that already existed without 'em.

If you guys want a general idea of what the new pokemon are like then go on Serebii.net. They have the list of the new pokemon. Some of them don't have the info or images of the new pokemon but you can get the idea of what the new pokemon will be like. They also have some detail on the game.

And as for my opinion on the new pokemon, I like some of them but I'm not a big fan of them yet. I might like them more as soon as I play the game.

The sprites were up for a short while on a few sites and Amber Skyes (possibly) and I have managed to obtain a spread of all the new sprites if anyone still needs for simple viewing curiosity or otherwise.
