S'kor waited with Scarath, Optheli, and her green in the Weyrbowl. He'd gotten word several days back that the Camrann caravan was returning to the Weyr. He was eager to see how things were going for them. I hope they brought those spices I asked for, or Scarath is going to complain my ears off. Now his eyes picked out the dust trailed specks that were the caravan. He resisted the urge to run to meet them with Scarath at his side. It wouldn't do to scare the beasts by having the large bronze charging at them.
The bronze was lounging at his ease near his rider. He'd recently hit a growth spurt and put on a great deal of height. His hide gleamed in the receding daylight from a recent oiling.
Optheli was standing slightly apart from her brother. One reason being the bronze's large size, the other being the near petrified stiff green trying futilely to hide behind her. Really Dyntih. This is unbecoming. We want to give a good impression. How can I show you off if you're hiding behind me? She tried to glance behind her at the green who had her face in the folds of her skirt.
Dynith slowly and jerkily raised her head from the skirt. 'Yes Mine. If you really want to show me off, but I don't think Scarath would notice.' She really could do as Her's asked.Ismay trilled in her high sweet voice from the green's neck. It'd be ok! and with her here everyone would notice them!

He watched his sister dealing with her nervous green. A slight frown and wrinkle between her brow caused his lips to twitch. It looked as if the green would keep his sister busy and on her feet. His eye turned toward his impressive beast and he nodded in satisfaction. He'd done a good job with the oil. Now if the caravan would just get here before Scarath rubbed all that oil into the dirt.....'Mine, I will not loose my shine. I know you wished me to look good for this meeting.' The dragon exhaled softly and lowered his head for his eyeridges to be scratched. 'Dynith thinks I will not notice her. I think when the children gather around to croon over her, she will not notice.' He sounded amused.Yes but don't you want to be crooned over too? He dutifully rubbed the eyeridge presented.'Yes, Mine. But that is why I choose you.'
Optheli put her arm under the green's jaw so she couldn't lower her head again. Putting up the fact she rubbed the bottom of her jaw to distract from the ploy. She wondered how everyone was doing. It seemed they had left sooooo long ago, when it couldn't have been more than a couple foursevenday. How time flew. Her mind briefly noted the difference in Dynith's size from when she first hatched. The green had grown respectably larger too. Optheli tried to hide a sigh. Would she always be shorter than everyone else?Dynith lowered several of her eyelids and crooned softly. 'I like you short Mine. It will make you easy to carry.'She had to smile at that.
Though it seemed to take forever, the caravan drew dutifully closer and closer. Soon the wagons pulled into their tradition spots. Adults and children spilling out to set up and gawk at the two dragonriders waiting for them.

Driving the wher wagon was Relys. At first he was surprised to see the two of them waiting. Later he realized it'd be natural to wait for the caravan and people they'd spent most of their time with. Meticulous as always, he sets the brakes and makes the wagon ready for a long stop. His wher, Relysk, was still asleep inside and wouldn't be waking for awhile yet. Duties done he went to greet his friends.
"S'kor! Optheli! How are you two? It's been what? A couple of months? You're looking well." He peered over their shoulders. My how they've grown. That bronze looks like he's going to be huge, and that green looks like she's trying to play peek-a-boo. "My gosh! I wouldn't have believed they grow so fast! What have you been feeding them?" Walking up he looked back and forth between them.
S'kor laughed. "Greetings Relys. Scarath keeps me busy between feeding, oiling, and lessons. Oh its been awhile. Has the caravan kept you busy?" He gave a wide grin. "Well let me tell you how much meat went into him to make him that big! A lot of it was hand fed too. I can assure you he deserves to be that big. The bronze rumbled. He shifted his position to stretch his head forward to look at the wherhandler.
Optheli came up to greet Relys with a big hug. "It's so good to see you again! Has Relysk been treating you well? I've been great! So many new people to meet here, and new ones coming in all the time." At Relys' peculiar look, she giggled. "The candidates silly! There's always one or two coming in. And this place is so huge, that I don't know if I'll ever meet everyone."Dynith tried to keep her head ducked down behind her rider, until her rider walked up to meet the other. Left standing literally on her own, she shifted nervously.

"You must have so much to tell me! Come lets find a good spot to sit where we can talk. Any ideas?" When S'kor suggested the lake the wherhandler nodded with enthusiasm. It would be comfortable and cool for a long sit. He put his arms around his two friends and the trio headed off towards the lake. "They will come with us wont they?" He looked back over his shoulder at the two dragons. Seeing them rising he propelled the others to a sandy spot. Relys was eager to share news and catch up on everything that had happened.
S'kor smiled. The wherhandler was friendly as ever. When Relys wanted to sit and talk, he mentioned the lake. "The lake should be fairly quiet and calm at this time of day. We could go sit beside it." Privately a chance to sit down would be nice. With all the bathing, oiling, and lessons S'kor wasn't sure he'd ever get a chance to sit again. Then the young man draped his arm over the rider's shoulders to propel them all forward. He allowed himself to be taken along. Silently calling Scarath to follow them. Very quickly they reach the lake and Relys releases him. Hey Scarath, come'ere and let me sit between your legs. Scarath made a comfortable spot on the sands and laid down stretching himself out. He made a comfortable chair for his rider with his front legs and crooned softly as His settled himself.
Optheli squeaked and started laughing at Relys' jolly nature. She'd heard some handlers became sour or were that way to begin with when they worked with whers. That certainly hadn't happened to Relys. She had to grab his arm to stay upright at the pace he set. Dynith sweety, come along. We're going to go lay in the sands by the lake. As they came to the sands 'Theli stooped to remove her shoes so she wouldn't stumble. When she saw what her brother and his bronze were doing for seats she asked Dynith to do the same. Dynith crooned happily to be with Hers. It was good to spend time together. And the others didn't seem so bad either. Certainly the man from the traders was friendly.
