How do I work around my bust for lolita outfits [I'm a 40 D]? I'm at a loss, because although I know it's a possiblity, I'd just rather not tie them down [in my experience it's been painful].

Any suggestions?

i have the exact same problem, i'm a 38D to a DD (eugh the pain! but it changes with different bras..very surreal). I baught a metamorphose tshirt off of ebay and it fits, but it's really short because of my bust..
All i can recomend is buying cutsaws, and jumper skirts with shirring.
I have the same problem with my hips, i have a small waist but huge hips, so everytime i look at a skirt...it will fit my waist but there aint no way it's going to fit over my hips to even get to my waist!

But ye just try and keep an eye out for stretchy stuff, it sucks...but i guess it's the only way ;-;

Yeah, I'm a 36D and anything with ruffles on my tops just makes me look like a hen or something...blegh! I kinda get around it by getting nice t-shirts rather than fancy frilly tops. And I get corset-like tops from Hot Topic when they're on sale...but that probably won't work for a sweet lolita 3nodding

I love you all.
I have the same problem.
I have a 38C bust, and a size 14-ish hips.
It's hard to find ANY clothes sometimes..
But the nice thing about Loli is that I can also make my clothes to fit me perfectly.

I've found that instead of tying down said bust (it'll look a little funny depending on your build and just how big your bust is) that it's usually better to wear something that'll go well with it. As... odd as that sounds.... Typically, shirts that come up to your neck make you look a little extra-full breasted or something. Doesn't mean you can't do it, just tone it down I think. Like, just a little ruffle at the neck or something (maybe I don't really know what I'm talking about though, I usually opt to show off a little cleavage just cause it looks better than trying to cover it all up)

Anyways, about the shirt thing. I totally understand (being 42DD myself). One trick that my mother developed is to wear an undershirt. We found some really cute ones at Wal-mart a while ago, and more recently at Ragstock. These shirts are all tank tops. The ones from wal-mart were a silky material and came down to just above my hips. The ones from Ragstock were kinda flimsier, a thinner material, but they came down a little further. All of them were lined on the bottom with lace. I bought one in every color they had, and I like to wear them underneath those fitted tees that too often show off my midrift (which isn't really the cutest one out there)

dresses with a gathered bust should work well... i really dont know much about it, though... having boobs, that is x____x but yea... also, if you learn how to sew yourself, you can modify patterns to fit you correctly.

Shirring is good on dresses. Don't get anything with shirring in front, though...that just looks bad on big boobs (usually) @_@

Yeah, shirring on front dresses only look really nice on totally flat people (AA here!), since they exaggarate the little that we flatties DO have. heart For others, it tends to look ridiculous, since it draws attention to boobs.

OMG, I know exactly how you feel. (38D) They hurt if you try to tie them down! I usually try to go for clothing items that are lacy over ruffle-y. Like, instead of getting a Loli top with ruffles, find/make a top with a lace overlay. It looks really good, and teh boobs aren't so incredibly obvious. 3nodding

I know what its like. I have 42DD with hips to match. Luckly I was blessed with a small middle so i have a nice hourglass look but hardly anything shows it off and looks like i'm wearing a trashbag.

I found (From alot of experimenting) That is you put on a nice button up white shirt and then a corset (I wear a real one but some of you younger girls might want to look into one that doesnt have boneing in it. Binding hurts and is illegal in some places... like here in oklahoma.... eh sue me) ANYWAYS.... I wore the white shirt with a black corset over it. It looks FABULOUS... add a nice tie or something to your neck and you can match just about anything you want to wear on the bottom. I just happened to put on a black tutu... and lot of flowers....

Hee hee That outfit is fun and turns alot of heads. but i dont care. WHEE.... I should really act more my age sweatdrop

*cough* I dont have small boobs in a sense. ninja They just look small on me, but i have a 38 C, But i understand how some of you girls feel about hips.

Anyway. I have a friend with big breasts, and she's always complaining about them. She has no butt, like all of it went to her butt. She's tried a lot of things to help minimize them. One of them was wearing two bras at once. I dont know how comfortable it is, but... she seemed to like it.
I got the idea from a Jenny Jones show I saw many years ago. This thin little woman was like an A, but wore about 20 bras to help her get a D cup, because she wanted larger breasts.
I don't suggest 20 bras.. but maybe try two and see how it is. And there's that spiffy new technology out of minimizing bras. I've seen them at walmart, and I'm sure there are higher priced ones out there too if you'd like that.
