 Dakari hummed a tuneless song to himself as he wandered the forest. The tribe was going through difficult times, and he preferred to be out in the woods most days. He wasn't lazing or anything; he collected useful herbs and food, or especially nice-smelling plants for the dens.
He came across a particularly pleasant smelling mint plant and proceeded to dig it up. Even if the leaves dried they still carried smell. With his prize settled firmly in his jaws, Dakari continued his leisurely stroll.
In the back of his mind he realized he had gone past tribe borders possibly a mile back, but it wasn't important. As long as he returned before too long Sin wouldn't be upset.

 Xavier had perched himself upon a large, thick tree branch, idly watching the occassional fox pass by. They probably noticed him, but didn't care enough to acknowledge his presence. Xavier felt likewise, as he ignored most of them, and only spared a glance at some. For a while though, the forest quieted considerably.
When the next fox trotted by, Xavier took notice almost immediatly. He knew why, too. Glancing at the the white a purple fox, Xavier noticed something green clenched between his teeth: an herb that gave off a nice, minty aroma.
Xavier dropped down from the tree, landing gracefully on all fours, just as the fox was passing. What had possessed him to do so, the white and blue fox wasn't positive. He didn't particularly want the leaf, he didn't really have anything to do with it. Still, it was too late to turn back now, he had made his presence known. "Hello, there," he greeted the other fox.

Dakari growled in his thoart. Friendly or not, the purple-patterened fox wasn't fond of surprises. Not unless he was the one giving them out, anyway. He dropped his mint plant on the ground beside him, careful to keep it out of the way so he wouldn't crush it and lose all the aroma from him.
Looking at the new male, Dakari felt some shame. How had he missed that? The male was bright white, with blue accents the same shade as Dakari's eyes. If there was one thing Dakari knew it was that having a white pelt decorated with bright colors made for difficult times hiding, even up in trees.
A grudging respect for the male surfaced, but it wasn't quite enough to unruffle his feathers. "Who're you," he asked, voice harsh.

'Another of those tough, untrustworthy foxes,' Xavier thought, judging the other fox's actions. Then again, who was he to be a hypocrite? It wasn't as if he was the first to trust others, he took after his mother in that respect. The other fox, it seemed to Xavier, didn't feel threatened, per se. And with good reason, since Xavier knew better than anyone that his presence didn't exactly make other foxes quiver. He wasn't interested in scaring others, though.
He preferred knowing those he comes in contact with. Analyzing their actions, words, associates. Xavier learned as much as he could about everyone and everything. And so far, this purple and white fox seemed as unfriendly and guarded as he felt at the moment. Still, Xavier said, as calmly as possible, "my name is Xavier. And your own?" He wasn't exactly one for conflict, and knew angering this fox would lead to trouble.

"I'm a long way from home," Dakari mutter, half to himself. Really, why did he always seem to meet other foxes when he was a distance from the Cruor borders. He heard his own question in his mind, and sighed at the idiocy of it. Of course he met everyone outside the borders. Wasn't that the point of borders?
"My name is Dakari," he replied, looking at the ground rather than Xavier as he gathered his mint plants. He wasn't exactly planning to stick around at chatter at the male, and since they weren't on Cruor lands this male didn't need Dakari to hold his paw.
((It occurs to me that with his personality any potential mate would have to force their company on him in the beginning XD Sitara appears to be the only exception thus far.))

Already Xavier was losing interest. He wanted to end this "conversation" of sorts quickly. He didn't even care if it would be rude or not. "Well, great to meet you," he said. "But I have places to be, so I'm going to go now." And with that he walked away slowly.

Dakari now had all his mint plants. "Yea, later," he said, flicking his tail and turning to head back to his home turf.
