Erie was tired, she was fed up and downright frustrated, Erisk had just about nearly savaged some stupid kid after they'd ran into her, the brat had been outside ... out of hours and out of the Weyr, it had taken all Erie's willpower to prevent the young wher from attacking. She'd had trouble with this before when someone other than herself touched Erisk, the green just NOT a touchy Wher, sometimes Erie had to watch herself, if she woke Erisk up.
She'd eventually calmed Erisk, and to be fair, the boy was apologetic, Erie thought that the lad was just trying to wheedle her into not telling, but it was their job to patrol, and if some weyrbrat managed to actually exit the weyr for Faranth only knows what purpose, then Erie was obligated to report it, and the lad.
It was nearing dawn and Erisk had already fled to her Kennel for the duration of the bright hours, so Erie headed to the kitchens, maybe someone had gotten up early enough to brew some hot Klah, if not.. well cold would suit just as well, maybe there was even a snack or two laid out for hungry wherhandlers heading to their beds after breakfast.

Tsubari wasn't fully awake, yet. He heard a wher sometime in the night throwing a fit and hadn't slept too much after that. As he got up, he remembered the flowers he seen that he wanted to get for Erie. At the sound of his grumbling stomach, he ran out and down to the kitchen.
When he arrived, there wasn't any hot klah brewing. Since he knew his way around the kitchen and the others wouldn't mind, Tsubari started to heat some up. As it heated, he grabbed some bread to settle his stomach for a bit.

Erie reached the kitchens and she almost turned on her heels and headed straight back out as she saw who was there, but.. no such luck since he'd been facing towards her as she'd entered, he was munching some bread, that and the smell of warming Klah was enticing, as well as the fact she'd barely eaten all night, her stomach had been in knots, thinking things over, what if Erisk HAD attacked, no one wanted an unpredictable wher ... well not one that actually attacked, then there was the stares, and the disappointment of her parents, who were fairly good wherhandlers themselves .. they'd be ashamed that their daughter who'd spent her entre life (mostly) around Whers couldn't control one green wher. Silently she made her way up to where the Klah was warming "hot enough" she mumbled and poured herself a slightly warm cup, Tsubari must not have been sat there long. She sat down at the opposite end of the table from where the lad was and drank slowly, trying to look everywhere but at him.

It seemed that thinking of the green wherhandler, she appeared. He watched as she took the warm klah and sat away from him. Tsubari smiled as she looked at everything but him. Taking it as a challenge, he grabbed a cup of klah and went over to her side of the table. "Morning, beautiful."
He waited for the glare that normally came when he talked to her. Tsubari wouldn't tell anybody that he thought it was cute, especially her.

Erie snapped her head around and gave Tsubari a dirty look, as if she'd just trodden in Wher dung or something equally as unpleasant "hmph" she said and sipped her Klah, still glaring. Eventually she looked around for something edible, besides bread, getting up she stalked towards the likeliest place to find soemthing a bit more ...substantial to eat, "Why take bread when there should be leftover meat" she muttered loudly, "bread wont suit beasts" she added, meaning Whers, or maybe even Dragons. "SO!, what do you want today Tsubari? hmm? more taunting, jibes and 'flattery'?" she said the last sarcastically, not for one moment thinking that he might actually be even a little serious in his flirting, she was too 'ugly' in her mind for any of that, 'normal' stuff for girls her age, and anyway with an irate Wher around she didn't get much chance to get to know anyone anyway, though.. strangely she seemed to not be quite as agressuve whenever the wher had met Tsubari, and that rankled her too, since she was pretty much the typical watchwher 99.99% of the time.

Tsubari smiled at her reply. "Well I was thinking of a walk with an irritable lass would be a fun way to spend my time before lessons." He tossed another piece of bread in his mouth as he got up to grab some of the meat from her hand. "But if you don't want to go... I am sure I can find someone else."

Erie merely gave Tsubari another withering glare and pulled her hand away "get your own" she snapped taking a bit out of the meat before he could reply "a Walk?!" she exclaimed "why on PERN would i walk anywhere?! i've BEEN walking the whole sharding night! or i was until that stupid weyrbrat!" she said, barely holding back the frustration in her voice, "Look Tsubari... i haven't got the time or the energy for you today so just say whatever you have to say while i'm eating alright?" she said, tiredness edging her words.

"I did get my own. You just happened to hold it." He smirked at her. "Hey, what's wrong with being a weyrbrat?" He took some offense to how she said it, and he probably knew the person.
Ignoring the frustration in her voice, he leaned closer. "So, are you saying that there is a time when you have the energy for me?" As Tsubari got close to her face, he saw the tiredness touching the corners. "You know what, give me a rain check on the walk and you go get some sleep." He knew where Erisk kennel was and thought to put some of those flowers at the entrance for Erie.

Erie said nothing at first "What do you think? .. out at night, and out of the weyr .. WHILE i was patrolling, stupid brat practically charged right into Erisk, where the idiot boy was going i dont know but Erisk soon got him running back to the Weyr proper" she said, all in a rush and promptly shut her mouth, realising she was telling Tsubari her frustration, thus giving him the possible idea that she actually 'enjoyed' talking to him. "i'm not sleeping til i've eaten or i'll be up and so will Erisk, i'm just going to eat for the moment" she said shortly.

He smiled at the memories from when he use to do that same thing. Thankfully him and his friends didn't have a wher like Erisk to deal with. "Well fine then, Miss Grumpy Erie. Sheesh, just trying to make a nice conversation with you," grabs another piece of food from her and winked at her.
"How is Erisk by the way?" Tsubari asked as a second thought to maybe change her attitude. He settled back on the bench and watched her out of the corner of his eye.

Erie almost growled as Tsubari grabbed yet another peice of cold meat from her hand, glaring at his wink, she sighed and yawned widely. For a second she didn't register his question, she blinked "Hm? OH Erisk is.....Erisk i guess, thank Faranth she's not proddy" she whispered the last to herself (hopefully) "It's getting easier to train her i guess" she muttered loudly. She stretched and heaved herself out of the chair to grab some bread, she decided to make a sandwich with the cold meats, she'd spied some meaty bones that hadn't been thrown to the canines "I'll take those down for Erisk"

He just couldn't help the way he was with Erie. She was so easy to get annoyed and looked so cute. "You know when you growl at me, it makes me smile," he said with a smile and got another cup of klah.
He laughed, "You guess it's getting easier? I know it has been a long day for you, but you should know if it's easier." He looked at the bones, "Want some help with those?" He knew she could probably carry them herself, but he was raised to ask.

Erie gritted her teeth and rolled her eyes "Whatever Tsubari" she said with a defeatest sigh, putting her sandwich together she took a big bite to prevent herself from commenting again.
She almost flinched as he laughed, but she did wince a little, too used to getting laughed at, she found it difficult to determine between playful and mean laughter. She turned towards Tsubari just waiting for a jibe, an insult or something but he merely offered to carry the bones to Erisk's kennel for her "i...well...*sigh* i guess if you Really want to Tsubari, if you take those i can take some Klah and snacks back" she replied not sure why she was discomforted around him, yeah she was hard to get along with but Tsubari seemed to get under her skin and she wasn't entirely sure why.

"Sure I will take them for you.. Only if you are going to share the klah and snacks with me." He would probably get smacked for that comment, but he was only kidding anyways. He piled up some of the meaty bones for Erisk and waited for Erie to lead the way.

Erie couldn't contain the huge yawn that burst from her, but she did her best "Share?!" she snorted "you've already been taking my food, why should you feel the need to ask me to share now?!" she grumped, but did gather more snacks than she could eat and (semi) stomped off, pausing only to half turn her head over her shoulder "Well, you coming?" she asked Tsubari.
