Serandite decided that a different sort of hunting ground would have to do-- Day in and day out, senshi seemed to roam everywhere. What a nuisance-- Her grimace recalled past memories. Ever since she woke up, she had been plagued by blasted senshi all over the place. Rosalind and Perseus were only the start, she reflected sourly. She didn't need any more on her a**. Not only was it a pain to fight them, it was also a pain to get their starseed-- senshi starseeds were most valuable. And the hardest to get.

Bloody magical powers. Weapons were a better choice though. You actually knew what to do exactly with a weapon-- with magic, it was guess and shoot.

She was at a popular campsite for Destiny City. Nearing halloween and winter though, the cold weather didn't encourage many campers. Although there still was a few that littered here and there-- Perfect setting for any ideal negaverse really. Hidden behind a tree, Serandite's newest victim laid there unconscious, knocked out from the giant bunny's blow.

Her hand leaned forward, softly making contact with his shirt before her hand slipped in--

Kaatje had actually been camping. Her new "caretaker"--whatever, she was legally emancipated and didn't need a goddamn watchdog--insisted on doing 'family' activities. Family activities like going out into the <******** freezing wilds of one of Destiny City's wilderness preserves. He had to be ******** manly everywhere, didn't he. He couldn't just let her go on as she was, he had to go and start fires and s**t, and--

And she'd been plagued by a feeling of dread all night. Once she was sure her cousin was asleep, she'd grabbed her pen and headed out to transform into Sailor Gunn. It was that particular soldier of flame that slipped into the trees reluctantly. She had always been particularly good at avoiding parks and other places full of flammable materials like trees. There was nothing for it, though, because she definitely--and she stopped, thinking she'd heard something heavy fall.

Well, now--

"Hey," she said, quietly, "What the hell are you doing?"

She definitely had a bad feeling.

.... s**t. Why did senshi wander here too? Serandite couldn't hope it was a civilian with a mistaken impression coming across her-- no, it was a senshi. One look at the white bodice and ribbon.. she groaned inwardly inside. But wait-- it wasn't as much of a problem as she thought. Not if it gave her a chance to snag a senshi's starseed.

Her outer appearance was unfazed, her lips curved in a coquettish smile. Her back covered most of the scene in front of Gunn, her hand inserted to draw out the starseed. She couldn't play civilian now-- not in her negaverse form. (The one drawback about her gorgeous uniform was the starseed designs in front. They just gave her away way too easily.)

"Just borrowing something. Your timing could have used a little improvement.. if you wanted to save him." Serandite voiced softly, closing the civilian's blank lifeless eyes, her hand briefly covered his face. Even if Gunn had come in time, there would be other starseeds stolen on this night anyways. She faced Gunn with a glowing starseed floating in the palm of her hand. She took a quick moment to examine her enemy of the night. It was a stylish outfit. Senshi outfits just got better and better but so did the negaverse.

"It's really a nice color, don't you think? But I think yours would be far nicer."

All Serandite's expression was really doing for Gunn was making her pissed off. This wasn't hard, usually; some people, like certain blonde bartenders, made her pissed off by the mere fact they existed. Others, like redheaded roller-coaster companions, just drove her insane over a period of time and put her in a foul temper that way. But with her sole encounter with a Negaverse pair leading her to believe they were goddamn cheating bastards, she saw no reason to let her irritation and yes, fury!, make her drop her guard.

"Put it back and I won't set you on fire," she snapped, bringing up her hands in a defensive position. There was a bonfire within easy range of her attack, she was pretty sure; and if it wasn't, there were definitely sparks and it certainly wasn't that big of a distance between where she stood now and where the fire was. The man wouldn't be dead until he'd gone a time without the starseed, unless... unless the pink-haired monster had done him some kind of damage?

Gunn didn't do banter. Instead, she threw herself wholesale at the enemy, intending to at least break a few teeth before getting the starseed back.

"Set me on fire..? " Serah repeated, a realization hitting her. She chuckled, finally identifying the scout in front of her. "Ah. You're the one on the news? Blowing up everything left and right. Quite destructive really-- how many civilians have you killed in friendly casualties?" Serandite asked pointedly, evading Gunn's attach as she threw herself forward. Serandite wasn't going to get caught stupidly in an amateur attack like that.

"Are you going to start a spark? He's still alive you know. He'll feel it if you burn him to death." She tipped her head in the civilian's direction, tucking the starseed into her ruffly skirts. Her weapon teleported itself to her, instantly turning large, intending to hit Gunn from the side.

Her face flushed as she caught herself on a low-hanging tree branch, her palm making a meaty thwap as her fingers wrapped around the limb. Stopping almost hurt, but the glove saved her from skin getting lost. "I haven't killed any." Two gravely injured, one still in a coma beyond that, but no civilian had died yet because of her. And anyway, she didn't think any fire except the big one could reach the poor man over here.

"You're a liar," she said, "the entirety of him is in that starseed!" Her fury over being blamed for anything that would happen to the man laying on the forest floor--over the Negaverser taking his starseed!--meant she didn't even try to dodge the bunny's attack. Her grip on the tree was tight, too, so she just ended up slammed against the trunk of her new best friend pinus pinea.

It occurred to her that it might be even better of a fight if she got out of the trees, where her maneuverability was affected. The rabbit would have issues, too, but out near the fire there'd be even more issues--the kind that ended in smoldering stuffing.

This in mind, she gathered her wits about her and ducked around the large stuffed bunny--what the hell, anyway--to grab for the Negaverser's sleeve. If she could draw the controller deeper into the woods, towards that campfire?...

"Yet your nearly burned them to death. Isn't that what the news said?" Serandite raised an eyebrow, the smile still remaining on her features. It was apparently a touchy subject with her-- How sweetly naive. If it were possible, Gunn's prospective destructive properties could be stronger than a negaverse's intent to kill. Serandite had no doubt that a massive fire would take out more than she could take out in a week. Not to mention, it would be more pain that Serandite could ever intend to inflict, a fiery death.

"Me? Lying? Never!" Serandite gave a mockingly exaggerated gasp, shaking her head. "His starseed taken out doesn't guarantee automatic death. He'll still feel everything. His body's still alive. Not for long though." She informed Gunn in disgust. "Are you that new to the job?" Serandite remarked, reflecting on the mission given to her in the past by Nealite. Take out the cats, take out their newest recruits. If she had just taken out the cat.. Well.. Tartaros had thrown that mission off-course. She watched as the girl was slammed into the tree.

Ouch.

But Serandite hadn't expected the scout to regain composure so fast and drag her into the woods, stumbling over the various objects in their path. She yanked her hand away after gaining some footing, leaping back to gain some distance between herself and the scout. The woods wasn't advantageous to her weapon or herself-- especially not facing off with a fire-based senshi.

But.. where was the entrance out again?

Gunn had spent the day in the woods. She knew where she was relative to the campsite, could see the tent she'd been sharing with her cousin between a very specific triangle of branches. Something she couldn't see was where the shorter girl had put that civilian's starseed, and she hoped it was something she spotted soon. She had to give it back to that poor man as soon as she could--were they far enough away that he wouldn't get burned?

In the end, it wouldn't matter if she couldn't get that starseed back. The Negaverse agent had wrenched herself free by then, leaping away. "Shut up," Gunn yelled, an agitated gesture cutting herself off. "Give me the starseed or get lost!"

She was not the best senshi.

The redhead threw herself towards the Negaverser, but feinted at the last second; instead of the predictable punch, she stopped a bit further away and kicked up, aiming for the pink-haired girl's torso.

Serandite certainly wasn't prepared for gunn to lose her cool and become agitated like that-- she stepped back, wide-eyed and shocked. It wasn't often when Serandite saw a scout lose their composure completely and act forth in rage.

An almost enviable yet honest quality-- but foolish. Immensely foolish. "Heh, or else?" She chuckled, expecting a punch, dodging to the side. But it wasn't a punch as she initially took it for-- Gunn's foot made contact with her torso, sending the girl flying back. It would have been a nasty impact of back meets tree but her bunny leaped forth in between and substituted as a very harsh pillow for Serandite's back.

It still hurt but it was better than splinters stabbing her to death. She clutched the front of her kimono, where Gunn's foot had made impact, grimacing. Ouch-- a hit durectly to the gut. It hurt like hell-- the pain throbbed fiercely.

Pain overrided her mental senses, rendering her incapable of controlling her large bunny weapon properly. "Belphegor!" She called out, the bloodhound youma leaped out from the subspace formed. The black shadowy beast stood in front of Serandite protectively, blowing blood-red eyes regarding Gunn as it's newest rival. .. Did a grin cross it's features?

Hard to tell, the youma charging forth at Gunn.

That stupid rabbit! So there was too much room for it to maneuver even here? Fine! Well, she'd just--she'd just, she didn't even know. Attack again? The bunny probably couldn't get over its controller, even in this amount of space. So she could probably get off a strong hit at the Negaverse girl in a kimono again. Gunn slid one foot back, braced it for a jump; and then there was some strange--

Belphegor?

Nowhere had it ever been mentioned to her that weird dog creature beast things could be summoned, although in retrospect maybe she should have expected it. After all, she could make fire blaze up out of the smallest spark like no one's business... so why couldn't a Negaverser summon a dog beast?

Because Gunn was good, and this person was bad.

Still, she wasn't going to sit and fight there, when she had no matches. She used her braced foot to kick off and towards the campfire, using her speed and knowledge of that particular area of the woods to place herself firmly on the opposite side of the campfire ring before the dogthing--Belphegor??--could get to her.

Belphegor darted after Gunn, her scent fresh and the girl within his sights, the shadowy black wisp eyed the fire ahead suspiciously. Darkness was it's element and light was it's enemy-- naturally, the shadowy bloodhound was wary of it. But it had a mission and trvaled forward, red eyes zooming in on his moving object.

Serandite struggled to stand, the pain finally subsiding. She needed to go after Gunn.. She ran forth, ignoring the pain that awoke when she moved her sore torso, her speed significantly decreasing as she moved on. She was only halfway there when her breath became ragged and sweat dotted her forehead.

Meanwhile, Belphegor was catching up rapidly to Gunn. It bared it's teeth menacingly, intending to lunge out and bite Gunn.

Her entire body felt tense, tight. It felt like, if she didn't move, her skin would just squeeze her bones right to powder, right then and there. But the dog-monster wasn't close enough yet, she couldn't even hope to make contact with her attack. So Gunn held herself ready, and the second that the youma began to leap over the fire towards her, she swung out an arm and shouted Gunn Wildfire Propagation!

All she needed was a spark; she'd only ever worked with sparks or matches before. The bigger the fire, obviously, the bigger the effect would be, but she didn't know how big. A spark became a golfball, a match was about a baseball, and the fire at her feet, which had just pulsed with white light--

At the last instant, Gunn threw herself backwards. That was why only her arm was caught in the sudden wall of flame. Her scream was piercing, and she could hear someone shouting in German, but she couldn't get caught as a senshi, or having the same injuries as a senshi. Kres would be okay, but she had to go--

Her glove had burned clean away, so she didn't even have to stop to put out the flames. She was just gone.

Belphegor howled and leaped back, pink tongue lapping furiously at his injuries. He whined, backing away from the giant wall of intense flame-- Serandite knew that the camp was screwed. Her hand shielded protectively over her head in an instinctive effort, she called her injured youma back. Serandite wasn't a fool, that barrier of fire would engulf her if she didn't leave now.

She had no intention of letting herself or her youma get burned to death. It wasn't on her to-do list nor was it a preferable way to die.God, Gunn's destructive properties were horrifying. But the advantage to this was that even the scout couldn't estimate her own damage.

The negaverse agent teleported herself out, intending to take care of Bel's injuries.
