Name: Arkady
Nicknames: He answers quite happily to Ark
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Faction/Race Demon - Grigori
Personality:
Arkady doesn't hold with all that eviler-than-thou rubbish. As any skeleton worth their salt knows, a smile can be so much more terrifying than a scowl. A good grin shows teeth. And Arkady in particular favors the kind of smile that is just a little bit knowing, just a little too sharp... The best way to confuse your enemies is to look like you are having more fun than them, all the time.
The original Grigori were angels who fell due to the sin of lust. Arkady, in keeping with that fine tradition of his distant ancestors, tends to flirt. Regularly. With both sexes. Blatantly, badly, and always half in jest. He will deliver the worst pickup lines in the world with a straight face, just to see how people respond. He doesn't actually expect to get anywhere with it - much like the proverbial dog chasing cars, he wouldn't really know what to do if he actually caught one. It's more just his idea of a really strange private joke. Nonetheless, he is completely convinced that he is popular with the ladies, despite any and all evidence to the contrary. One can only assume that he is delusional.
Arkady literally laughs in the face of danger. Expect him to go for a battle pass as soon as he's allowed to, and then show a blithe disregard for his personal safety from then on. One could be forgiven for assuming he's got some kind of self-destructive streak going on; in some respects, this is true, as Arkady does in many ways try to embody the live fast and leave a good-lookin' corpse mindset. But it's more that he rarely considers the consequences of his actions, and never learns from a mistake until he's already made it. Act faster than you think, that's his philosophy. He's got wings, so no need to look before he leaps!
Easily bored and constantly restless, Arkady moves from one interesting thing to the next. Unfortunately, this means he ends up in trouble a lot of the time. Minor punishments bounce off him like a Superball off a concrete sidewalk, and he usually has the sense to keep his mouth shut and his head down before he gets in the deep s**t. But any kind of confinement or constraint on his behavior – such as, say, detention – is one of the few things that can foul his otherwise invariably upbeat demeanor. Arkady needs stimulation to keep up that cheerful act (get your mind outta the gutter, I'm talking mental stimulation) and nothing wears him down faster than being stuck in a room and forced to do something mindless and dull. And when he turns moody, things get ugly.
Because, you see, other people’s feelings are largely unimportant to Arkady. He conceals that fact, because he's not stupid. Arkady knows that if he's going to get through his school years with any semblance of dignity, people have to like him. But there is a world of difference between liking other people and trying to make them like you. It's pretty much just a huge game to him. A very complicated game that requires a great deal of strategy, yes. Still, if he loses a friend over a careless move, or if someone sees through his constant playing, it’s no more to him than losing a pawn off the chessboard. Not that chess is a particularly apt metaphor. Arkady lacks the patience for that kind of manipulation. He rarely plots more than a step ahead, instead relying on quick wits and his natural demonic charisma to fast-talk his way through life. On the flip side, if Arkady decides you are more of a nuisance than you are worth, he’ll dump you faster than the former prom queen dumps her baby in a back alley.
On the rare occasion that he does grow genuinely attached to someone, it tends to skip straight over the normal "friends" stage and straight into creepily possessive territory. It won’t be obvious. Like any good Grigori, he will keep an eye on you. Who you are with. Who hurt your feelings. Who you might like better than you like Arkady. Then someday you’ll notice that weird habit he has of conveniently showing up places that you are at, and you’ll start to wonder… Messing with one of the people whom Arkady feels this genuine affection for, that's one of the few things that can seriously, seriously upset him. Like, drop-all-pretenses-and-go-for-the-throat upset. All in all, you are probably better off with him thinking of you as not quite a person. Which is a sad statement in and of itself.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?

Natural ability: Grigori - Watchful Eye
Grigori were also known as the Watchers, before they Fell and became demons, and their job was to observe humanity. Even now, Arkady can make use of that gift. By quickly sketching his Emblem, a stylized eye, on an object and concentrating, he can leave a faintly glowing golden imprint of that Emblem on the item. At any point up to a day after that, he can concentrate again to look through that eye as if it were one of his own - though he has to have his real eyes closed when he does it, or he'll just get a splitting migraine headache from trying to see two places at once. After a day has passed, the sigil fades. He could theoretically also place his mark upon a person, but they would have to be willing or he would have to be really slick, because it's pretty damn obvious that you're drawing on someone's arm.
FEAR:
Arkady's FEAR is based on illusion. He lashes out or lunges at his opponent, rattlesnake-fast, and suddenly a grave injury appears somewhere on their body. This is not accompanied by any sensation of pain, only a curious numbness, as if the victim were going into shock. In all other respects it's realistic - the smell of blood, the sensation of warm dampness spreading around the wound, perhaps even a wave of dizziness or seeing stars. It is a gaping gory hole in you, after all. This injury is completely illusionary, and at this point it only lasts for a very short time - maybe 30 seconds.
Weaknesses - Several. For one, this is one HELL of a bluff, and it tends to only work on any given individual once. After that, it's all just psychological warfare, because they'll know it's fake. It's also of limited use on undead; if Arkady can think of a reasonable equivalent to a mortal wound (I.E. a ghost beginning to dissipate against their will, a vampire with a wooden stake through their heart) then it might work, but if he can't imagine a way to kill you, the FEAR won't take effect. Likewise, if he gets his details wrong due to lack of knowledge of his opponent (I.E. blood from someone who doesn't bleed) then the illusion will obviously break.
