Okay I have thought about demons and is wondering if there's anyone here that specialize in demons. I have been around many before and is curious about how does a demon find you?

I know a guy named Arcane_Ninja24. A few weeks ago he supposedly made contact with the demon Gamigin.

He might prove to be an interesting person to know for this.

I'm no specialist in demons, but I have noticed that the more attention you give them, the more interest they'll have in you.

Once I jokingly asked myself (not out loud, mind you) if I had a demon tap dancing in my attic, when a storm was causing my roof to be noisy, and one tried to attack me for it pretty much instantly. Another time I got attacked because I was doing research on them in forums.

Best way to avoid them is to just ignore them and put them out of your mind.

Demons are everywhere even in this day and age. There are still societies that devote there time to studying nothing but the subject. Of course there are people that denies there is such a thing as a demon. But are equally as quick to attest to the existence of God.

How redundant don't you think.

Demons come and demons go. I'm still looking for a way to channel the power of angels through my MIGHTY BLADE!

Once I get the channeling right, I'll go buy a sword or baseball bat.

Demons don't seem to be a good thing to be messing with. Always be respectful of things beyond your ken. And get lots of things blessed.

Anyone want to give me an opinion on this chart of summoning sigils I found online?

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Aygdgb5a2zo/TNZL6Zkm41I/AAAAAAAAAAM/h61iEB9z3rE/s1600/1289033437866.jpg

I featured it in one of my blog posts hoping someone might comment on it. No luck so far.

If you havin' demon problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 sigils but a cross ain't one...

It's bullshit, more or less. Some of the demons listed do have a precedent and are mentioned in grimoires or what have you (Focalor and Ipos, for example, are both Goetic spirits) and some of them are similar to demons that're well-known ('Decarab' is a shortening of 'Decarabia' from the Goetia), but the titles given to the demons are made-up, as far as I can tell, and only some of the sigils given are accurate: most likely it was made by a dude on /x/ who wanted to make Demonology hardcore.

I actually found it on /x/. rofl

So now that we have that out of the way, taking a chaos perspective, could these sigils be used to do what they are supposed to do? Similar to working with the Simon Necronomicon. It's not necessarily "real" but we all know that doesn't really mean much when it comes to chaos magic.

Demons to some. Angels to others. Bah, some spirits were demonized and other spirits are quite diabolical beings that have been made holy and vice versa.

I think that bottom line. You should be wary in general. Since, let's face it. Dealing with spirits you'll find good ones, and bad ones. And most definitely, spirits used to different rules and ways than you.

I guess I'm thinking from a bit of a gray area moral wise. but, that's my two cents.

Since someone beat me to answer the first question, I'd say if you can get yourself to believe in it long enough to serve its purpose it could work. I'd personally err on the side of caution because you're evoking (or I'm assuming that would be the case) some powerful being. Regardless if it's maligned or not there's always a great risk in any endeavor of that sort.

I'm not really a summoner myself, but I've developed an infatuation with sigils so this was relevant to my interests. If I ever worked with this I'd obviously be careful.

Sigils are pretty interesting. What might be interesting to work with is modifying the sigil so as to protect the user as well as accomplish what you want to do.

I think that the summoning circles and such are used to protect the summoner. The sigils themselves would just give a means to call the demon and potentially control it. Not sure I would rely totally on that though.

Modifying the sigils might bring up something a lot different than what you intended. I think that would be a lot more dangerous.

C'mon now, demons, really? Why would you want to go around provoking spirits that claim to be demons? There is nothing you're going to gain from summoning or provoking those sorts of spirits unless your a masochist.

Is there a specific purpose for wanting a demon to find you? There is no way in hell you'd be able to control the thing, it'll rip through your life and leave a wake of dread and depression. They like to screw with you, not you with them.
